Default Gift Card: Good or Bad Idea?

I was thinking when I go out to do my Christmas shopping, I would get myself $150 Forever 21 gift card for when I reach my goal weight, which should be around April or May. I usually never buy myself anything...it should be motivating to have and Forever 21 doesn't have any hidden fees for waiting to use it. I can't think of any reason not to do it but I'm still hesitant about it. Thoughts?

My only hesitation would be what happens if you don't like what's in Forever 21 when you hit your goal or if their clothing doesn't suit your new body?

I'm personally just putting my money in a savings account for when I hit goal that way I can spend it in a few stores as I'm sure I'll need new bras/underwear as well as new clothing and that most of my clothing will come from a range of stores so it makes sense to me to keep it available to spend anywhere I find a bargain.

The body is a strange thing. I would just go buy 150 worth of clothes when you do reach goal. Or even, save like 10% of your earnings, in your own clothes fund, and once you hit goal, you can spread out whatever the find has over more than one store. I know for me, I will prob spend a hundred at hot topic, the buckle, h&m, and about 300 at gilly hicks. Lol

I love the idea of having a store like that to fit into, but would worry what if when you loose where you want to be wont like the way their clothes look or fit.....and remember once you loose you will HAVE soooo many choices of any store and can walk into tons of stores and will find many clothing styles that fit and look good that you would never have thought of before.

Do you like the clothes at F21? I took my daughter there and she wound up not buying anything.
I would just put the money aside for clothes and not limit myself to one store.

Like others have said, you may like how the clothes look, you just may not like how they look on you.

I would wait until you reach your goal weight and go there and try clothes on.

Visa gift cards charge a fee, plus I think they may have monthly fees after a while?

I would just create a special savings account so that the money is ready and waiting for you but you aren't committed to spending it at one particular store.

Thanks for all of the responses! I'm not worried about not liking the clothes there. The Forever21 at the mall nearby where I live is two floors, probably just a little smaller than the average Sears. It's like multiple stores in one. The regular Forever21 section, Love21"Contemporary clothing", Heritage 1981 ("Plain" and classic clothing) and they also have a plus size section, another for young girls and a section for men.
