I could see the "more cloth, more money to make" argument having some heft to it if the fabric were something exotic and expensive, but for cotton and synthetic materials, in clothes that are made for a big number of retailers?
material is bought in huge quantities when the clothes are mass produced, so it really doesn't cost that much more to make it (we're talking inches of material), taking into consideration larger sizes can be several dollars more PER ITEM.
It's something that's accepted, and retailers have managed to get away with it, so they do it.
just because they MAKE it in that size, does not mean it's best to WEAR that particular item in that size!!!
I'm BIG! I need clothes that are gonna help me "cover" some of that, not half-shirts, mini skirts and pants that don't come up far enough on my waist for crying out loud!
yes, I've felt this way about a lot of clothes. And looking at some of the plus sized clothing, I wish they'd not always be thinking someone with extra weight wants to wear weird neck ruffles and other clothing anomalies.
