It's brrrrrr cold here too. Now that hot chocolate that Bill was talking about--- I want me one. Care to share with me Bill?
|
I was complaining about how cold it is here, but then I saw the midwest temps. Crazy cold there.
I'm home sick today.... poor me. 1/2 of my office is sick, too. If we could possibly get some warmer weather, it would help!!!! |
- 26C here this morning NO windchill and now its -17C our high is to be -15C.

Using the stuff I gave DW for Christmas that has 500 calories for 8 ounces; top shelf shaved dark chocolate. She mixes with skim milk but only makes 4 ounces at a time. But this isn't a diet thread, so it's off topic to be concerned about that. Sending 8 ounce cups made with half-and-half to all interested parties. |

Thank the Lord I don't live where you all live.
But on a side note, will you commiserate with me next summer as it becomes a sweltering 120 degree cesspool here? |
120 degrees... UGH! I don't know how you could handle that? A/C's on nonstop? Humid too - right?
|
Yeah, it can be humid because it's usually in August which is monsoon season over in Arizona and some of it manages to get over here. It's not as bad as some areas in regard to the humidity--120 degrees, 30-45% humidity gives us a heat index of around 130-135 degrees. Yup, we have a heat index just like the frigid weather and winds give you guys a wind chill factor.
|
Ugh. I think I'd take my chilly weather then. I couldn't stand the dense hot air, sweating all the time, not being able to bake (well really would you want to in that heat). Now, I don't like the fridgid temps, but know I can just go back in the warm house or truck. Layers are a good friend of mine too. That and my trusty ole goose down jacket. No breezes going through that.

Gary, Gary, Gary!!
Stop bragging!!! It is painful to read those temps while freezing! I work at a school and the art teacher has a pic of Bill's avatar hanging in the hallway. Every time I walk by that pic, all I can think of is: BillBlueEyes!!! |
Love my micro fibre fleecy blankets! The keep me warm when DH is not home! Had 2 of the kids & 1 dog in bed with me last night and we were toasty warm!
Hattie that is too funny! |
So glad I left my native land ( Minnesota ) and moved to California. I am in Northern California generally cooler than where Ainell lives . We do not have the 120 degree temps and high humidity, either.
|
Funny, Hattie! Now try explaining that to someone at the school. ha!
My vote for the weather issue is to take the heat. Fortunately, I live in fairly mild climate, so the winters are really not that harsh. (I'm just sick of it right now) But I also lived at 10,000 feet, where the winters were harsh and 9 months long. I don't care what anyone says. You get to the point that you just can't put on more clothes. You get chilled to the bone and depressed beyond belief at how cold and miserable it is. (I'm just a ray of sunshine today) My sweet boy (12 yo) just came home from school. He is such a joy. He came in with a big smile on his face! Nothing going on or for any special reason... he just smiles a lot. LOVE that boy!!!! Love my girl, too, but she's 14... I don't always get a lot of smiles from her! ha! |
