The Boston Globe had a long article about the guilt felt by all the Red Sox fans who left Fenway when we were down 7-0 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, then had to listen to the comeback on their car radios on the drive home. One guy was reported by his wife to bang his head on the steering wheel. One declared himself unworthy, LOL. More than one, this may be hard to believe, simply lied to their friends about leaving early.
So, Caroline and just keep swimming, get a nap or sumpin' because it might be a looong night.
Wishing you the best WebRover, but of course, not victory. Your Rays are one formidable team.
OHHHHH I found the Fenway Faithful!! So... how 'bout them Red Sox! I was born and raised as a Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins fan (thanks Dad!) so the past several years have been one of total ecstasy for me. I agree justkeepswimming... the suspense just kills me. It makes my quitting nail biting sooooo difficult to maintain lol.
My brother and I have a little joke between us... that movie Fever Pitch... when Jimmy Fallon skips the game to be with his girl and his buddy calls and screams IT WAS THE BEST GAME EVER. Yeah. I soooo called my brother the other night at midnight and screamed that lol. My sister-in-law was not amused.
I'm so glad Varitek finally launched one last night. Papi too. You could see the relief on their faces afterwards. They actually started relaxing and enjoying themselves. If they don't beat the rays tonight it will be heart breaking. I've just got this funny feeling though.... they have a good history of pulling one out. GO SOX.
These are the times where I REALLY miss my father. He passed away in 2002, and man would he have loved to have seen these World Series runs. These are just the kinds of games that I would love to watch with him.
So happy for Varitek. Was everyones TBS screwed up, they didn't start showing the game until about half way through the first inning.
Can't wait for tonight, these series are not good for the waist line though, a few too many beers last night and no exercise today.....oh well it's on October once.
Yeah, there was a power outage or something at TBS headquarters, so everyone got to see Steve Harvey instead. We turned on the radio and listened to the game that way until the tv came back on. At first I thought my dad had had enough of the TBS commentators and wanted to listen to Boston commentators...haha. We were switching from the BC football game to the Bruins game, waiting for the game to finally come on television.
When Varitek got up to bat and finally hit the homerun, I had just finished telling my dad "Seriously, he's the new Mark Bellhorn. He doesn't even swing the bat!" and then he hit the homerun. My dad was laughing because Mark Bellhorn did that in the playoffs too....did absolutely nothing and then hit a homerun. LOL
Tonight should be a nail-biter definitely. If Lester is back to his normal self, I won't be as nervous as I could be. The bats are starting to come alive for the boys and the bullpen is doing it's job. Okajima was awesome last night!!! One more night!!!
