In a few minutes, I'm going to beat my husband in tennis. Or, that's what I told him! Later, we're going to visit friends who just had a baby girl
Same question: What are you doing this weekend? |
Well...we are moving the 21st so I am packing, packing, packing! UGH!
Same question. |
Today we went furniture shopping for my son's bedroom. We're planning to repaint, redo his room. It's way overdue. Tomorrow morning we'll go to church, then the kids and I will go visit my parents. DH has a committee meeting at church in the afternoon so he's staying home. DS and I are going to replace his light fixture when we get home from the grandparents. Still need to finish household chores that usually just get done on the weekends.
Same question |
I'm going to church and then tidy because my parents are coming for a visit. And I think I'll go for a walk later.
Is Sunday a family meeting day for you too? |
We are heading to the 8 a.m. mass then out to breakfast. Sunday is a family day for my little family of three, but when we get home in the late afternoon, the rest of my immediate family and their spouses and kiddos come over for a BBQ--almost every Sunday. It's fun, loud, full of fattening foods unless I whip something up that is legal for me and sometimes a little annoying because I have a big family. It gives me a chance to catch up with my 6 sisters and see what's going on in their lives. The guys are outside playing Texas Hold 'em and having some beers, the ladies are busy chatting it up inside and comparing notes on their kids' latest escapades. I woudn't change it for anything.
What are some of your favorite family traditions? |
Thanksgiving at my grandma's house, a big party celebrating baseball's Opening Day, every other summer the family vacation with my ENTIRE family, and seafood gumbo for Christmas!

In general, I've always enjoyed getting together on the holidays with my family although that is a little tougher since I've moved away but I do make it back for some holidays. Same question :) |
For the last 5 years Christmas Eve has been held at my home for our family. Prior to that it was at my mom's house. We have dinner, open presents between family and friends then most of us go to candlelight service at church. the crowd varies from year to year but generally there are 15 to 25 of us. Each year the dinner is different, always easy from baked potato bar last year, chili and posole the year before. Sandwich platters, pizza, KFC, etc.
Because of our dysfuntional....er....divorced/extended families, Angie and I usually don't plan anything at all for Christmas "day". That gives the kids time to go to the other parents house, their spouses/fiance/boyfriends parents homes and so on. Then on Christmas night OR the next evening (depending on what is best for all) we have a mexican food feast with the enchiladas (me making cheese, Angie making chicken) tacos or burritos, maybe posole or tamales, rice and beans. Angie started the tradition about 9 years ago because the kids were getting doubled up on ham and turkey for dinners between all the stops they had to make. Now when Angie says maybe we won't do mexican food at Christmas, she gets a big :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: from Ryan and Nicole, Amanda and Zac, Lara and her boyfriend of the moment and knucklehead nephew Ron! I won't mention who else  whines  like a :bb: baby ;) |
Uh Gary, where is your question dude?

What fashion magazine do you read the most?
|
I don't read fashion magazines 'cause I am a fashion fool! Hmm on second thought, maybe I should look at them. Magazines are so repetative that I rarely buy them.
Can you roll your tongue? Jo |
Yes, I can.
