Good morning everybody from a cool but very sunny Amsterdam. I am pretty much locked into my neighborhood today because the Amsterdam marathon is being run today and the course passes by my neighborhood. So I will amuse myself at home by cooking for the week.

Cook double, Dutch Girl. My freezer stash needs replenishing.
Another unseasonably cold October day is about to happen. I am off to Church and then will dig a few holes and plant a few more plants along my foundation, I never thought I'd be gardening in a winter coat in mid-October! Brrrrr! It's 27ºF/-2ºC right now but going up to a balmy 43ºF/9ºC this afternoon.
And when is the USA going to switch to metric? Metric time is another good idea except everyone would have to get new watches and clocks to use a 100 hour day. It would take care of Christmas gifts though.

I can't understand metric, at all. I understand a mile but what the heck is a kilometer?

A virtual Chicken Chasseur winging it way to you, Ruth!
Seriously good recipe, though, can recommend it to you

I added a bit of rosemary, and it pays to make it a day ahead, it improves!
Great for company and/or the freezer.
And the GoodFood website is great

I would LOVE it if we finally got a grip and went to metric. For Pete's sake, in construction, they aren't even happy with the jacked up 12" foot. They actually use 10ths of a foot just to screw with everyone.
