I have been meaning to start back on the Shred but I haven't had alot of energy for months now. I also don't like exercising when people are home (I live with negative people who put me down) because I workout on the second floor and I basically would shake some of the house which sucks. Sometimes I'd rather go to like the local Curves to workout because I'd feel less pathetic there but that costs money.
BTW, just doing the Shred for a couple days do you feel and see improvements that soon? I only did it like one day cause my body was sore and I kept getting out of breath not to mention heartburn.
I did it for a few days and I was quite amazed that muscles started to form, especially around my arms. I hate my arms, they're really huge and disproportionate but after doing the 30DS for a few days now, I can see them becoming smaller and looking less flabby, so yes, JellyBean, there is a difference! You have just got to perservereeeee and bite through the pain.
I am also amazed by how quickly it worked. I just didn't think 20 minutes would make that big of a difference. I keep my arm weights around in my kitchen and do some of the exercises even during the day when I am working in my kitchen and have a few minutes to spare. Jillian kicks booty.
Jellybean, put on your shoes and go for a brisk walk. I don't do gyms, personal trainers, etc, either. Just do your best with 30DS I was sooo out of breath the first time I did part one too. The great thing is, it only lasts for 20 minutes. Also, by the time you get through 5-7 sessions of Part One, you will find it gets much easier.

No kidding, I'm using 1kg weights... Which are like 2.2lbs? And I'm dying during any of the arm presses. The only time I found the weights easy to manage was during dumbell rows and chest flys. And I don't use a yoga mat. Somehow crunches are okay to do one the floor, I dunno why. They ain't as bad as sit ups.
So yay, no need to spend extra money! Save up for the new clothes you'll be needing soon!

I am on Day 4 of Level 2. I also am doing 'something else' besides The Shred, because I have been consistantly exercising from 30 - 45 minutes 6X's a week for months now, and I don't feel that I can drop my minutes that much.
IF I kept within reasonable calories for all this time...I KNOW I would have been down weight-wise by now. But I have been awful with food. Bad stuff. But I have not gained...AND my waist is half inch smaller. With just 14 days of The Shred! I think that is great. I don't know why I am at a point where I can't resist bad food right now, but I will get over it.
I think The Shred is great, very concentrated and concise exercise, getting alot of bang for your 20 minute buck.
Oh, ok, so I don't need to spend money. Ya, I'm a weakling, I really do need to built ALOT of muscle I'd say - I can prob lift like 20lbs at the most and that's it.
Level 1 Day 7 Just completed! Woohoo! I'm proud to say I managed to complete the push ups properly for the first sets, and with knees on the second set. Finally!
For the past 7 times I've been doing this, I struggle so hard with the push ups. It feels good to get something right! My hands are trembling now as I type this haha.
Holly- I'm on the same boat as you. I can do ton of fitness stuff, but I almost always match it with my food. So I'm not gaining, thank God, but I'm not losing either, which sucks! You're pretty near your goal weight, so at least you've got something to be thankful for!
I am having to modify the workout so I can do it in my bedroom, all of my cardio will be the punches and jogging on the spot. It feels so wrong changing it but it's better than not doing it at all right?
Today will be my second day of level 1. My muscles are aching a bit today, but not as much as I thought they would... I am wondering if I didn't work hard enough? :S
Day 1 of Level 2 started today. Definately going to have to move slowly into this. I did take a few days off from Level 1 due to having StrepThroat.....adults having strep just shouldnt happen I dont remember ever feeling so sick - So maybe I should have done Level 1-2 times more before moving onto level 2.
I have noticed just from the level 1 workouts that my arms started taking shape and jeans feel looser in the hips. I am going to measure myself tonight and see what the results are after completing level 2.
In level 1 I started with just 3lb weights and by the end moved up to my 7 pounds with my 3lbs close by when the 7's stated to feel like 20's.
I have to say though at the end of Level 1 during the stretches when JM stretches for her toes and she isnt as flexible as the girls...it makes me smile as it reminds me No One is perfect - we all have limits and just need to to do our best

LOL! I do the same. I start out wtih high hopes and high weight and then have to drop it down a bit.
