YES wrong direction. YES I have been binge-eating again, due to being away and out with others almost constantly since the end of June. And YES I am starting July over as of today
Honestly I am surprised the gain isn't more given the huge amounts of nutritionally void foods I have been consuming... nipping this trend in the bud.
HW, I'm not much for yoga. I usually spend most of the session thinking about all the other things I could/should be doing. I'm not very zen. My back seems to be about 99% better. Yesterday I did a bunch of housework and I could feel the tender spot now and then -- while lifting a laundry basket for example -- but it did not get worse. I will keep up the walking for another week or so, and if it resolves completely I may go back to barre or try a little run/walk combo.
So glad you're getting better! Sounds like you're taking care of yourself like a champ - very important.

And I need to exercise more.
Point four pounds is not that much, as far as gaining. And you're keeping track!
Thanks for starting the thread, and good luck this month!
We are away and I don't have a scale, so who knows until July 5.
We are at a bluegrass festival in Morganton, NC. Yay!
Goal- Anything under 120. Maintain under 120 lbs. On 6/30, 118 lbs on lower scale which is 1 lb lower than my other scale
7/2 119.5 lbs on the scale at Planet Fitness with my clothes on, shoes off. The food in NC is really good. I've been eating stuff I never do, bread and fried potato wedges two days in a row.
7/3 121 lbs ?? Not morning, hope that's why, scale at Planet Fitness
7/4 who knows?!?
7/5 118.4 lbs on my lower scale
7/6 117.8 lbs (LS)
7/7 118.7 lbs (LS)
7/8 118.7 lbs (LS)
7/9 120.4 lbs (LS) ugh.
7/10 118.8 lbs (LS)
7/11 119.2 lbs (LS)
7/12 118.6 lbs (LS)

Yes, that is absolutely true! But sadly I gained a total of 5 - 6 pounds since the end of June (it goes up and down, so yesterday's weight was about 3 pounds up). It was just a shame that I got so off track when away from home.
Just for laughs, here is how my last few weeks have gone (the gains correspond exactly to when I was away from home):
Oh well, moving on ... I'm back on the right track now. The month is still young

EmmaD, way to get back on track. I bet you'll continue to drop this week as the post-binge bloat goes away.
Alexis, nice, consistent downward trend!
HW, I want to thank you for all of your suggestions and support. Looking over the posts I notice I've been kind of an Eeyore ("I can't do this, I don't like that..."). The past few months of illness/injury have me a bit depressed and frustrated and that does not make one "open to the possibilities" to say the least. But I really appreciate you sticking with me and coming up with ideas. I am going to give yoga a try at a different studio and see if I like it any better.
Thank you to all my cheerleaders on this thread -- you help keep me going!
Seven ~ You go, girl! You CAN do this!!! Good for you for getting back in the game.
Jenn ~ That Bluegrass festival sounds amazing!!! Have a great time!!!
Emma ~ Knowledge is half the battle. You're aware of the difficulty and you know where/when your weakness comes up. As they say "Forewarned is forearmed"

Thanks! Yes, I am warned... now how to get armed. That is my challenge.
It's like I have another brain that kicks into gear around things that my sane brain knows are unhealthy and nutritionally worthless.

Thanks! I just have to stay on track which is proving harder and harder to do for some reason.
I was thinking maybe you would like power yoga or bikram yoga? Something to try at least. I haven't tried bikram, but in my experience, power yoga moves quickly and is more of an aerobic workout than a slow meditative flow.

EmmaD, so funny about the power yoga -- I used to take a class called Yoga for Athletes where you held poses until you burned, etc, with just a little relaxation/meditation at the end. That was at my old gym in another state. I tried a similar class here but they expected you to have much more yoga experience and the teacher wasn't very nice about it. I've found a new studio nearby and will give it a try.
