I heard there is snow :)

Absolutely exercise. If you are in good athletic shape, get the Insanity DVDs. They are really good.

Yes!! Lots of snow and schools are closed.
I don't think I can manage Insanity, I can't do push-ups or crunches without crying. I usually walk, bike or do Pilates. I wish I had the willpower to try things like Insanity!

What kind of exercise do you like to do/normally do, if you don't mind my asking?

I walk 3 times a week with a friend and use my stationary bike for 30-45minutes/3 times a week. I also do Pilates at home using YouTube or DVDs. I guess I am lazy;) but I think I have no other choice but up my exercising if I want to get out of this "skinnyfat" body!

I have that, too. I did notice the yoga was making a difference. Pilates seems like it would be kind of like yoga, but maybe harder...

I have a feeling that, for me, the "skinnyfatness" is going to be less of an issue as I move closer to 101. Not that I'm going to go all the way there (not that I'm not), but I see some of this flab, and I try and estimate "oh, that's three pounds (my gut)," "that's three more (my thighs)," etc., and it seems to add up, roughly, to about nine pounds, right now, that I could lose.

As an aside: I was looking for something familiar that I could use as a guideline for what one pound feels like, weight-wise, and happened upon the can of cranberry sauce, because it was Thanksgiving, I guess. So my gut is about three cans of cranberry sauce (OR MORE) too big, etc., etc., lol.

Congrats on getting to 114! :carrot:

I'm not sure how to classify my shape. I've always considered my thighs a "problem area." My hips are kind of narrow, at least when you compare them to my waist. Idea: I'm going to post some measurements. No one else has to do this, of course. I just think it would be interesting to document them.

WARNING: I HAVE EATEN RECENTLY, SO THESE WILL BE "FOOD BABY' MEASUREMENTS!

Chest: 34.25
Waist: 31
Hips: 35.5

Those measurements have definitely changed since Christmas! But I'm not worried. I have a system that works, and it's just going to take a little time to get back to where I was. It sure does seem slow going sometimes, though. :ebike:

When I first measured this morning, it was 115.1, then mysteriously went to 115.6 or something during the same weigh-in. What a rip-off!

So I decided to vacuum the house and tend to some other minor things and weigh myself again later, putting off breakfast. Surprise, surprise, it went back to 115.1! I have two scales, so I can get some verification - a second opinion, if you will. :D

I wonder what approach others take to weighing in? If you're comfortable sharing, feel free. I usually weigh in in the morning, before breakfast, using, as I mentioned, two scales. I usually get on each of them two or three times. It was the third time that messed me up this morning, lol.

kifli 01-29-2015 08:18 PM

Hunger, you crack me up! I weigh in my birthday suit, right when I wake up, and then later before breakfast, but after 9am (probably most dehydrated at this point, if you know what I mean. This gets me down another 1/2 pound ;)). 2x back to back for verification. That's what I record for the day.

I also weigh at night out of curiosity, and subtract 1 pound for my clothes and 1 pound for my 'food baby', as this is a good indicator of the next day's morning weigh in :)
