Default creative work outs?

OK I'll be honest I'm pretty lazy and it takes a lot to motivate me to work out. Anyone have any unique approaches to staying active/working out?

Right now most of my "working out" consists of playing just dance on the wii, carrying small (and not so small) children around at work, and very occasional swing dancing. Last night I tried out the adult gymnastics class I went to until a year ago, I really need to start going again. There's a new coach, she seems pretty cool and helpful. I didn't do much, I told her my goal for last night was "To not be sitting on the couch." I like to swim, but my gym with the pool is by work (the one near me doesn't have a pool) and I only work three days a week and often forget in the morning rush to grab my suit, and I lost my lock when we moved in June, and I just don't want to go if my husband is home (we frequently have opposite schedules.) Now that the weather isn't as crazy hot I guess I can start swinging at the park (combined with jumping off the swing it can be a nice leg workout.)

It's to the point that I count running through the sprinkler as "working out."

Any other creative ideas?

What I do, is I pack my breakfast for work & my workout clothes the night before I go to work. That way, even if I can't manage to get up to go to the gym before work, I have them to stop there after work.

In the beginning, I made working out not a choice. I HAD to do it. I didn't give myself the option, just like I couldn't eat a bowl full of ice cream or have white bread, etc. And after about a month, I started to enjoy working out and its hard for me not to go to the gym everyday, I have to force myself to have a rest day.

Yeah I have just about zero motivation to work out just for the sake of work outs. It has to have some other benefit for me, like swimming I find very relaxing (and I can swim for quite a while, until my muscles are so tired I have trouble getting out of the pool but am somehow still able to swim more laps.)

I am very forgetful in the morning though. I even HAD my swim bag packed (minus my lock, which is still missing) and I just forgot to grab it on my way out the door. UGH.

Is it possible for you to say jump rope in your basement or maybe do some 'stair sets' in your house - running really fast up the stairs then walking down them for interval training? I'm trying to think of a few things you can do from home and these are the two that popped into my head.

We don't have basements around here

But honestly if I'm at home, I'm very unlikely to get up off the couch just for the sake of working out. It's just not fun enough for me. I have inattentive ADD.. which can kind of being explained as couch potato ADD... we don't have the hyperactiveness, just the distractibility... we 'forget' to do (get distracted from) important things like use the bathroom and go to bed.

I don't know how much money/time you have but have you thought about doing something like an xflowsion class. I've never tried it since I'm way too poor right now (just graduated, no job) but it's supposed to be a combination of dance, martial arts and yoga and be so varied that it's difficult to get bored.

Equally, maybe you could take a dance/exercise class and go there to socialise AND get fit. I've heard good things about Zumba from my bf's mum. I run, it's my absolute favourite but it can get boring unless I change my routes sometimes.
