Cool New years resolution..... too cliche?

Do you have new years resolutions? I"m not necessarily talking about the typical weight loss resolution, but any other resolutions?

I have resolved to be healthier. Really, just more active. Exercise is like kryptonite to me.

I also have resolved to be more adamant about getting through my classes. I'm currently working an becoming a Medical Transcriptionist. I need to get through my classes and hopefully employed before May 2012.

Along with my being more active resolution, I have resolved to get my dog our more often. So I will be taking her on walks a lot more often. She's not overweight, but she isn't' in shape either.

I have resolved to keep a better log of our finances. We are pretty responsible with our money, but it seems every month we say "where did it go?" So that is what I want to find out.

So what resolutions have you made up?

My resolution?

To learn my rights as an American citizen.

I was talking a lot about this to my fiancé
and I noticed I do not know the rights I
have been gifted with at birth. I don't know
anything past freedom of speech, religion,
press, and the right to bear arms.

As far as I know, I'm not just an American,
but a GULLIBLE American. By the end of
2011 I will know my rights as an American citizen.

I have never given much thought to that really. I'm in the same knowledge boat though.

I think that is a wonderful resolution.

One of my resolutions is not to weigh myself for the month of January. It might seem odd, but I just want to spend the month making as healthy choices as possible and work out as much as possible. My goal is to be at my goal weight by Valentine's day. So even if I don't lose much weight in Jan., I'll still have a couple weeks to work at it.

I am still crafting mine, but I do plan on making them. A big one my fiancee and I have is to go vegan. I also want to get back to exercising, but it's so hard because I work full time and go to school 2 nights a week. But I managed to get into a good routine last year of going at lunchtime, so I hope to try that again.

Tattoodles- I think that is a great idea to not weigh yourself in January. I used to weight myself every day and it would make me so mad when the scale didn't move. (or went up) No I weigh myself about once every 2 weeks.

Wildflower- Good luck to you becoming vegan. I don't think I could ever do it, mostly because I don't have the will for it. Your schedule is really busy, but hopefully you can find time to do even a 30 minute workout.

I added another resolution.... To quit drinking soda once and for all! Every time I quit drinking it, I do good for about a month, then cave. Part of the problem is that its kept in the house for my husband.

Thanks! As I've said many times, my focus is being healthy and making healthy choices with weight loss as my secondary goal. So I just think taking a break from the scale will help me keep things in perspective.
