Hi all! I realize that I'm BEYOND late in joining the thread. But I need all the motivation that I can get to stay OP and finally reach my goal.

In the last 2 yrs, I've been as close as 2 lbs from goal before I threw in the towel and gave up. This time I really want to commit to eating clean, circuit training and logging miles on the treadmill.

July 4th, seems like more than enough time for me to lose 7 lbs. :goodscale

SW: 135
GW: 128

I'm so inspired by everyone here. Looking forward to sharing the journey.

Tomorrow it's back to OP day #1. I've had a little trouble telling myself "no" this past couple weeks and it's NOT good! I'm all set for hopping back on the wagon. :)

Hi, I'm new to the boards (intro post in introduction thread) and would love to join this challenge. I might be able to get close to my goal weight by July 4th. Do you have a particular method of checking in/weighing in, or do you all just update on whatever days you want to?

natamars 05-24-2010 08:00 AM

Welcome, MiniChick! Nothing formal here, we all just kind of post as things happen. I do post on another thread, not on featherweights though, where we do a weekly weigh-in. I think I'm the only one still on there, honestly! But I love it because I weigh in every day and sometimes it feels like I've been stuck forever, but I can look back and see that I'm down about 15 lbs. since February.

Right now, I keep hovering around 130...my scale actually flashed 129.8 before locking in on 130. But July 4th is close and I'm getting very motivated. I won't let myself do any clothes shopping until I reach goal, and I am so ready!!

I think at this point it's safe to say I'm not going to make my new goal by July 4th, buuuutttt I'm only 1 lbs. away from my original goal :) It'll be close, but with my weight loss over the past couple of months I expect to be 147ish by the 4th. I've been really struggling these past few weeks to stay OP with my eating (I've been working out like crazy), but it doesn't seem to be affecting my weight loss for some reason . . . I'm VERY ready for maintenance!

Thank you, natamars! What other thread do you post your weight on? I wouldn't mind joining you; then there would be two of us doing it. :)

I know what you mean about buying clothes. I need to buy some new clothes for myself, but I'm waiting until I get to goal. I know people say it's good to buy yourself clothes that you love to wear while you are losing weight, but with weight loss at this point making such a difference in my body from month to month, I would need to buy a new wardrobe each month and I just can't afford that. I can be fine in what I'm wearing one week, but if I drop 5-10 pounds in a couple of weeks, my clothes will start to be baggy. Weird, but that's what seems to happen when you get to the point where you don't have as much weight to lose anymore; sizes change more quickly.

You never know, Stella, you just might!

I'm not making much progress this month, but I'm back on track and hope to see some love from the scale in the coming weeks. No more eating out for at least a week which should help tremedously!!!

maenad 05-25-2010 07:50 AM

It really feels like i haven't been on here forever, I guess it has been 10 days! I have been so busy, I am getting married in 2 months, planning a wedding, moving, looking for a new job, planning a holiday (i leave next week!) and still working a full time job (I finish this week!) that's alot!

I have managed to get in a work out most days and am still maintaining 120 pounds. I have had a few really good OP days and am proud of myself. I am still hoping that the scale will move down a little, but trying to not get bent out of shape if it doesn't. I still want to get into the teens at least by my wedding!

Ms Perception 05-25-2010 09:53 AM

maenad-I'm imperssed with all that's going on that you've maintained consistency in your workouts and in your weight. That by itself is a huge accomplishment! Congrats!!

I had a great OP day yesterday and today has started out well also. It should be good since I'll be running later and playing softball. You'd think that would help even more. I'm excited to finish this month well so I can begin my official marathon training in good condition, fueling my body for max performance. I'm also doing a sprint triathlon in less than 2 weeks which means I should really have done a lot more biking before now, but I'm kinda winging it on the bike portion since I don't enjoy it as much as the other 2 elements. Shame on me!!!

I know it's pretty close now, but I'd like to jump in on this thread. :)

I have 17.6 lbs left, so it may not be necessarily feasible, but I'd at least like to get within 5 pounds of my goal by then, and a deadline will very much encourage me to bust it. :)

natamars 05-25-2010 09:35 PM

Minichick, see if this works -would love some company there! I weigh in on Fridays.

Was off plan yesterday, but today is going well and I'm still just a handful of pounds away...dang it! I should be there by now!

maenad 05-26-2010 03:49 PM

bama girl: welcome! It is never too late to join!

I have had 5 really good OP days in a row. I am feeling really good about it and am hoping it continues this way. I am going on holiday next week and have guests in town starting tomorrow. I went shopping (again) and got some cute tops and (another) dress for the trip. getting excited!

If you don't hear from me for a few weeks, don't worry, I'm not dead, i am just on the road, traveling through Europe, rockin' a bikini on the beach! I'll Try to stop in if i have internet access and free time! Good luck ladies!

Ms Perception 05-27-2010 09:30 AM

Had a POP day yesterday and another one on tap for today. I'm feeling much more in the groove! (To self: ) Don't screw it up, don't screw it up, don't screw it up!
