I always post them... It's just my way of being accountable to me. It's ain't pretty, but I do it. To me the ticker and my sig are about my goal accountability, that's why I keep 'em real. However, last week I did not even have time to weigh (we weigh at school on Fridays). My home scale is a bit off my work scale, and I knew I had not lost. So I will post again this Friday.
as you can see from my ticket I got off track around the holidays. So I left my original goals as is and added the ticker to the top to track my after holiday weight loss. In the past (before I fell off the wagon). I normally only weighed myself once a week to avoid those fluctuating numbers so didn't have to worry about readjusting my tiker and adding pounds back on.
I usually do, but last week I was up on Thursday (first weigh-in for a few weeks, so probably for a while), but forgot to post. I was back down today, so I stayed the same and didn't adjust. But yeah, it prob had something to do with subconsciously not wanting to post the gain
I don't have a ticker (never really figured it out), but I have all sorts of complicated rules about updating the weight listed in my profile. I never lower it until I have consistently come in at the lower weight for at least a week. And even then sometimes I don't lower it--I'm afraid I'll jinx myself. But I also rarely raise it. I think I have to be at the higher weight for two weeks before I raise it and only then if it is several pounds higher than what my profile says.
I also have complicated rules about the weight that I enter on the machines when I do cardio. As a general rule, I only drop my weight in 5 lb increments, and I have to be at least two lbs below the next lowest 5 lb for at least a week before I drop it. So I'm currently entering 120 on the machines, even though I weighed 116 this morning (and my profile says I weigh 117). To enter 115, my weight has to be 113 or lower for at least a week. And even then, I might not lower it because I know it will reduce the calories I'm burning. I tell myself it is because it will make it harder to compare workouts, but really it's that I'd prefer to think I'm burning more calories. I can't quite figure out what my rule is for raising the weight I enter on the machines, but it appears that I never enter a weight higher than 120.

I don't understand how to change the weight in the ticker. I mean, I don't think I have to yet... but when I do, I don't know. Wahh.
There's a purple bar at the top of the page. Click on "User CP".
That takes you into your profile. On the left there's the control panel. Look for "edit signature" and click on it.
Scroll down within those until you find a bunch of black lettering and numbers. Look for the 3 numbers that are your starting weight/goal weight/current weight
ex.: 165/130/142
Change the last number to what your current weight is and you're set!
Then scroll down and click "save signature" and you're done.
Ha ha...It totally pains me to change my ticker but I do it even when it's on the upswing. The thing is that despite having a self imposed respite from working out this month, I have maintained by sheer will power alone...
I only change it down, never up. I've never been more than a pound or two above what my ticker says, so I don't feel that I need to discourage myself by upping the weight. The point of the ticker is to motivate, not to cause more stress.
Considering that I am currently 4 pounds OVER ticker weight, I guess I do lie. Not that I am lying to myself--I KNOW I'm over and I'm TRYING to get back to ticker so that I can go down!
I gained 3lbs this week... but there is no way im changing my ticker... I like the way it looks and I know I will be back down there soon! I completely agree with Faerie... "The point of the ticker is to motivate, not to cause more stress."
