  • Boom ... today I have restraint ... not good reason ... nothing different. I just do. Go figure!

thinnythings ... I like your attitude. No hurry, no rush ... the goal will be awesome when you get there. Clothes shopping is sooo much better.

Clykk ... the miracles of the human body. Awesome machine, yes? And apparently your's is lookin just fine!

Nic ... your lowest weight in years! Good work. It'll be so exciting for you from here on in. Those of us who do not run are impressed with 3K.

Allison ... I've heard you speak so wistfully of exercise. I'm glad you're back at it. It feels a joy, yes?

GreenT ... packing your own lunch is one of the most important things you'll do toward your weight loss. Good work! I wish I was averse to nuts.

Barbara ... one of my heroes. Slim, fit and smart! Ban the beans!

Ilene ... step away from the cashews.

Doughnut ... I call holiday weight 'toxic flab' and treat it as an anomoly. It must get gone!

Michelinwoman ... I'm glad your DD is considering nursing. I love it! Long before I'd heard of Volumetrics, I heard folks talk about BIG food. The things that make you feel full or take enough crunching and chewing that you eat less. That theory certainly has merit.

Welcome Lekhika ... doing some parts of your plan everday is certainly a step in the right direction. I'll bet you find that as time goes by, your plan parts will coordinate better and better.

Dawnslight ... we'll be waiting to hear how your tests went. And chances are we'll have some encouraging advice for you.

Dagmar ... still under 140 is the important point here. Eat your veggies. I'm sure you'll be just fine!

Kaw ... we moved about a year ago. I feel for ya, my friend. It really does turn your life upside down.

Good night, sleep well and we'll have an amazing Thursday.
  • I had a great day today. The scale hit a new low this morning. After two days of mild hunger all day, today I felt satisfied all day. With my 6-serving-instead-of-4 Tamale Pie, my calories for the day came in low and and, miracle-of-miracles, I didn't fill the vacuum with anything (I'm sure there'll be other days where they are high). I barely even noticed the chocolate covered espresso beans sitting in the cupboard. I ate awesome food all day--everything I ate I really liked.

And to top it all off, SusanB called me one of her heroes! Aw shucks! Susan, you are too nice and definitely one of my heroes as well!

Am all prepared for this to be a great day. Just have to stay focused on my goal and believe that i will get there if i want it bad enough.

    Mini goal: 149

    Current BMI: 24.7

    Failure is not an option.
  • Good morning all!

I had a good day yesterday (I had restraint too Susan!Woo!), and aiming for another good one today I went for a short run last night...possibly the last run this week, since I'll be heading up to Sauble beach to go camping for the weekend. Luckily, I put myself in charge of meals for the weekend, so there will be healthy alternatives as well as some junk

Way to conquer the hunger Barbara!

    Have a good day guys!
  • Morning. It' supposed to be really nice at Sauble this year. Sandy, sandy, sandy. Even I'd be safe in the water there. How do you drive there?
  • Susan I DID step away from the cashews I am proud to report... I had only a couple last night and stepped away!

Just back from a 6k run, felt good ... Now if DD can get her butt in gear we'll go roller blading ... It's nice out today, not that warm yet, the high is only going to 24c no humibity ... It's all good... DD and I may go to the flee market today ... I love those ...
  • BTW yesterday was a good day for me too, the stars must have been aligned just right to make the Featherweights happy ...
  • I thought I had salvaged my day yesterday (after a bad, but not horrible) start. But the scale was up a pound today. 2 1/2 weeks OP and no weight lost. I got up and ran the first day of the third week of the c25k program. I didn't think I'd make it through that first 3 minute run, but I did and the second one was easy!
  • Stiebena - That crepe & ice cream sounds good. It’s important to allow yourself treats. Nutella is especially hard to resist! I almost bought a jar at the grocery store. I was standing there staring at it, contemplating whether or not to buy it. I ended up leaving the store without it, though. I’m glad you had a good day yesterday!

Barbara - I see pluots at the store all the time. I tried one once. It was pretty good. Congratulations on yesterday!

Dagmar – It’s great that those 2 lbs. are gone!

Thinnythighs – It’s great that you’re bringing lunch to work. You have a great attitude! Like you said, this will be a great day and you will reach your goal!

Allison – You’re doing great with running! You’ll see the scale go down soon. I know that the closer we get to our goals, the more slowly the weight will come off.

Last night I bought Knudsen cranberry juice. I poured 8 oz. into a 2 liter bottle and I filled the rest up with water. I started drinking it this morning. It’s bitter, but it’s not too bad. I already drank more than half the bottle and it’s not even 1:00. I'm really thirsty!

I’ve been on track with going to the gym this week. I have my gym clothes in my car, ready to go the gym right after work! Today I’m going to take the yoga class that they have every Thursday.
  • Today is a very good day , wore size 6 jeans, old ones from my closet, the best kind.
  • Saboteurs bearing gifts
Had a good day today until I stopped in at my dad's. He gave me a humongous chocolate bar that was a gift from someone in Estonia (where he's been visiting for the last 2 months). He's got diabetes now so I couldn't refuse it. And of course I had to taste and praise it in front of him.

I have done mindless eating in front of the TV but never while driving before today. Had the darn chocolate on the passenger seat and ate just a few pieces. Or so I thought until I got home and looked at it - almost half the bar gone .

I threw the rest out in the grocery store parking lot trash - too tempting to say I could just stash it at home somewhere.

Tomorrow will be treat free/fruit and water day again.

    Dagmar (the food won today)
  • You threw half a chocolate bar in the trash? I'd say you won!! I find that more difficult then not starting at all.

I went out with my DH for high tea this afternoon. How lovely! Except for the CRAP I ate, a scone with cream and jam and a slice of cheesecake when I got home.

My work-outs are still in place.
My eating is sprinkled with cheating. That darn cheating fairy!!
  • Another good one! How come this is so effortless some days and others ... oi!
  • Another good one for me too! Not only stayed on plan but actually came in under on calories! I hear you, Susan! Sometimes I am just in the zone and it all feels easy; other days, not so much ! Although I have some ideas on what made today so much easier. Unfortunately, they aren't all easily replicated, but I do think I need to really focus on lower calorie dinners.

Dagmar--Bad enough for someone to give you chocolate, but then to actually make you taste it in front of him! My SO used to try to pawn off food that he didn't want to eat on me and I finally had to put my foot down and say "I am not your garbage disposal!" But I agree with Clykk; I think you won by throwing the other half out. And why is that chocolate is so darn high in calories, anyway? I had some bittersweet chocolate in the house that I needed for baking and I thought, oh, I'll just have a little piece, but then I weighed it and figured out the calories for just that tiny piece...

Stiebena--I'm not sure conquer is quite the right word. More like I waited it out, got lucky and somehow it went away all on its own.

Well, I seem to have visual migraine coming on, which means I can't see very well right now. That's probably a sign I need to go to bed (and also probably means there are more typos than usual in this post).
  • Good morning everyone. It's 12:45 am here. I just got home from work. I got up at 4am (yesterday now I guess!) because I had to take my husband to the airport in San Diego. Then I worked overtime at work from 10am-11:30pm. I am beat!! I got no exercise in today (surprise!) but I did well with eating. I really need to go grocery shopping today though.

Hope everyone is doing well and keeps up the good fight

Anyone have any exciting plans (or just plans at all) for the weekend? Talk to everyone later. Jane
