I wasnt exactly sure where to post, but since I only have about 10 or 9 pounds to go, I decided to post it here.
I started out at 142, and my waist about 30 inches. Over time, I have lost 8 pounds and my waist only dropped about a half an inch to 29.5 inches. Is this normal? I'm not entirely sure, any type of response will very very appreciated!
I have no idea - I suppose it all has to do with the size/weight you started at. I've lost 42 pounds, and more than five inches each from hips/waist/bust. I guess maybe because you started at a reasonable weight (as opposed to me!) the size is accounted for, relatively?
Thank you, HeatherAngel! All of my weight goes to my abdomen, so I've been killing myself to get atleast one inch off of it, I guess I'll have to work harder and wait longer for those pesky inches to come off!
If your weight goes to your abdomen, then it's probably--and unfortunately--normal to not lost much, or to lose it very slowly only. The 'major problem areas' are always the ones to go away last. But you may have lost more than you think in other areas, though?
Well, my legs and arms had gotten muscular (they were never really a problem, i had begun dieting and excercising to get rid of my tummy), I just hope when I get to my goal weight it won't be as big! It'll be long journey . Thank you for the response, Kery!
You know I read somewhere once that to lose an inch you need to lose around 7 pounds (obviously that changes for each person... very rarely are things consistant from person to person). I know that funnily enough the estimation of 7 pounds an inch is very right when it comes to my body.
Good luck with your weight loss!
That's where it's most difficult for me to lose weight - in the caboose! I have always had a waist under 30 inches, even when my weight went up to a record (for me) 151 lbs. My waist at that time was 29 inches and my hips 41!! I am the classic pear shape and, whenever I lose I lose everywhere else first - neck, chest, arms, etc - until at last something starts to go from the butt.
I think my butt is the equivalent of your waist. Be happy with the muscular arms and legs and just keep on - the tummy will shrink eventually.
I actually lost a half inch in my belly but gained back a pound. I guess It's what I get for letting myself become so lazy and losing any muscle mass I once had. At least I'm getting it bacl And you'll be able to get those pesky inches off your belly too!!!
I don't have a waist measurement from my thinnest weight (129 lb), but I'm sure it wouldn't have been much different! I know, it sucks! I wish I dropped more in the waist!
