Good Morning,
I had a rough night last night. My son woke up at 2:30 this morning and wouldn't go back to sleep until around 5 or so. It was 5 the last time I looked at the clock. UGH! I feel like I didn't sleep at all. Dh's alarm clock went off at 6. We just transitioned our son to a bigger bed and he is having to get used to it.

I am just going to focus on staying awake until nap time. lol.

Linda~ Hey! I know where Red Oak is. What kind of work do you do? I know how Mondays are. Everyone wants a longer weekend. lol.

Crystal~ I still have days where I am hungrier than others. I guess that is normal. But, you will see that the longer you are on FS... the less you will need to eat. I love the herbal teas, too. I need to get a WATP tape. Maybe my son will do it with me.

WIDE~ Thanks for starting the weigh in thread. I was having ISP problems last night, so I didn't get to get back on to see if you had got to start it or not. I weigh in tomorrow. I am feeling bloated today. I don't know why. I hope I don't feel like that tomorrow. It usually means a gain for me.

Bonnie Jean~ I was looking forward to eating meat so bad when I got to like day 7 on phase 1. But, now that I can have meat.... I find that I don't really want it that much. lol. We eat meat about 2 times a week now.

Brandi~ That is so cool that you don't have to take meds for your Reflux when you are on Fat Smash! You will save lots of money on meds.

I will talk to you all later. My son is having a "baby meltdown".

Sherry

Hi ladies! I've been lurking for a while....I'm on day 5 of detox...and struggling a good bit. I've lost 4 pounds so far , so I'm way excited about that. I just still haven't gotten cravings under control. I guess it just shows how dependent I've been on junk before I started this plan. The only time I strayed was last night when I caved and had 1/2 cup special K with milk. OMG it tasted so so so so good! It's funny to have that reaction to plain old cereal. Back on track though. I've been walking on the treadmill 30 minutes each day and have been enjoying it surprisingly. It helps so much to find communities like this. I enjoy online support so much more than the "rah rah, sis boom bah" hoaky atmosphere of places like WW (I know it really works for some people...just not me). I've been learning a lot from everyone's posts and look forward to learning more from all y'all!

Can't wait till phase 2!

Good morning everyone! I did pretty well yesterday, except that I know I didn't eat enough! I got so busy at work I completely forgot my snacks, and they were within arm's reach, even. I guess I'll have to set a timer on my computer or something...I did drink lots of water, though.

So, for my day yesterday...
/b/ Grits mixed in with hard boiled egg white and lots of pepper
/l/ veggie soup with brown rice
/d/ veggie burger patty with oven roasted asparagus and sweet potato fries

And y'all, if you haven't tried the sweet potato fries that Jenn the Birthday Girl has posted in the Recipe thread, I highly recommend that you do! With the yogurt sauce.

I had a crack-of-dawn meeting this morning and I woke up late so I missed breakfast (just had some grapes - the aforementioned missed snack from yesterday), and I have a lunch meeting next at a yummy local restaurant that is going to be trying, to say the least, but hey, y'all are all doing it and I can too! Happy smashing, everybody!

Default Hi All

I'm glad to hear that everyone is staying motivated and doing well. I am still down and out with this sick so eating is way off plan. I've been doing good to eat something solid once a day. It's not that I'm eating fatty foods or unhealthy foods, it's just that I'm not eating enough. I went to the doc today and he gave me another inhaler (thank goodness) and a script for an antibiotic and ordered a chest Xray. So hopefully I'll start to feel better in a couple of days. On the up side I broke down and weighed in this morning (2 days early) and the scale said...... 197.4 . I hit my goal plus a little and I made it to onederland!! What a great feeling! Well it's off to take DD to the doc for a pre anethesia check up and then home to make dinner and go to bed. I hope everyone is good. TTYL Have a smashing day!

Hello Everyone, I missed you all yesterday. I had a busy day but stayed on plan. Day 3 today and I feel really good except I have had a migraine on and off since Monday. Its the weather not the diet. I dont understand, in the last year, the day before it rains down to the day after rain I get HORRIBLE Migraines. I finally "got sick" this morning and felt so much better. I didnt look good though, I must have broken all the blood vessels in my eye area my skin looked red and purple. I dont wish migraines on anyone..they just stink! Anyway, I cheated and looked at the scale and Im down 3 lbs for 3 days. That made me feel much better.

Shoegirlga- And congrats on your weight loss! I was the same way with not posting and just reading the posts, it took me a month to make my first post.

TimmyShawn- Congrats on your ONEderland! I hope your meds kick that cold. I feel for ya, hot tea was the only thing that helped me when I got respitory colds.

Bouncy- What a rewarding job to help people in need like that. That takes a strong person to do that kind of job, Im sure it can be very emotional. Good for you, and thanks!!

Sherry- I hope your son adjusts soon. I dont have kids, but I have had nights like that and I can never seem to wake up when Im at work. All I can think about is going home to have a nap. But then I think, well than I might not sleep at night and it will be a vicious cycle.

Well off to work again...Keep Smashing it Ladies...We can do it!!!

Week is going good. I don't think it has ever gone so slow! I'm on day 3 and I am not hungry!! YEAH! So far, this has been the easiest diet to begin. I am not a big vegetable eater, so it is definitely pulling me out of my comfort zone, but that's good too! I also seem to have more energy. Hubby says I'm cranky, as he's putting "real" food into his mouth. I just give him the look and he shuts up!! LOL!

I do feel better, I know I haven't eaten this healthy in a long time! Cheated and got on scale this am! Day 3 and down 4 lbs!! YEAH! That is the incentive I needed to get through the next 6 days! It's probably water weight first, but I have a long way to go, so I will take whatever loss I can get!

Love this board!

Afternoon All!
I've been going steady for 19 days now. Phase II Day 10. Officially lost 10 pounds (8 on Phase I and 2 on Phase II)! Daily weigh ins say it's moving down even more! Can't wait to see on Monday where i'm at. I'm shooting for 3 pounds this week and next. I want to lose a total of 16 pounds by the end of the month for Phase I & II. I feel i'm on the right track. Last night i started upping my cardio to 30 min. treadmill and 30 in eliptical. Was just doing 30 min. treadmill for 18 days, i think my body needs a change.

I've missed chocolate BIG TIME!! Fruit tastes great, but it's not CHOCOLATE!! Any ideas? Good imitation chocolate receipes? I'm a chocoholic so i'm dying here! LOL No pops or coffee either as i'm scared i won't be able to stop or start cheating.

CONFESSION: I've eaten 5 handfulls of Fish crackers the past 2 days. PHEW! Okay it's out there. I'm moving on....

I'm trying the sweet potato cut up in about 20 minutes! The last 2 times i've made them they were mushy and not crunchy, and when i tried to use a peeler they just burned. I hope it works this time. Obviously, im NOT a gourmet cook! LOL I did make my own sausage patties for breakfast with my Cheerios cereal. Just used turkey meat patties and added TONS of italian seasoning, onion, pepper and a dash of salt. It was sooooo good! YEA me!!

I was looking at my weight loss on a previous diet earlier this year (I've lost the same 20 pounds 3 times since last November), and i lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks ( which was good), so to see i'm down 10+pounds in 2 weeks without feeling deprived is AWESOME and encouraging. My DH says i'm different this time. More focused and not complaining on my eating. THAT says TONS about this lifestyle

That's it for today. Just wanted to check in and say hello since i havent in a week. Happy DAY!

Dorrene!!

Hi all! I am on my 2nd day of phase 1 and I have not hurt anyone yet....but it is still early..lol. Seriously, I am excited to start this. I know losing weight is about a change of lifestyle, and that some are really against dieting, but I know myself and I need something kind of strict to start with.

My hugest issue, is picking. Cutting up chicken nuggets for my daughter, 3 pieces for her, 2 for me. Ohhh honey you are not finishing your pasta, well I will! But I have tried to be super aware of everything I have been eating (again, it is only day 2..lol)

My goal right now is to make it through phase 1 with no cheats!!

Any tips other than super glueing my mouth would be appreciated!

Tina Marie

Good Morning All!

Tina Marie -- as far as the kids go, I try to feed them what I am eating. So during phase one I would steam broccoli, make black beans and brown rice for all of use and grill a chicken breast for them. I am fortunate that my kids are good veggie eaters. Also, for dessert, they get a scoop of ice cream and I would have some low fat vanilla yogurt with sliced banana sprinkled with cinnamon. Not ice cream, but helped my "sweet" craving!

Dorrene -- I have been wanting to eat goldfish crackers for days!!!!! My kids love goldfish and I do too. I am going to try to live vicarously (sp?) through you! LOL

Brandilynn -- I am so sorry about your migraines! I have had migraines since the age of 4 (as far as I can remember), but have been lucky that ever since I got pregnant with my first child (she's almost 5) that I have not had a migraine! I wish you well!

As for me, I'm going out today and promised to take my kids to McDonald's! Wish me luck. I am going to see what kind of salad I can eat. Also, I need to NOT get on the scale all the time! I fluctuate from hour to hour -- I'm obsessed! So I have promised not to weigh myself until next Wednesday!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Take care,
Bonnie Jean

Its day 4 of Phase 1 and although I hate to admit it I got on the scales. I have lost 4 lbs already! I havent cheated and have planned out my meals. Some of these recipies are great. My whole family ate the Lentil Soup. Tonite its black bean and corn lettuce wraps. YUMMY!
I have been Walking Away the Pounds and I love this video. My little boy does it too. I bought the resistance bands today. If anyone who doesnt have it is reading this. ITS GREAT!!!
I feel better, my head is clearer and I am always full. I dont want to cheat although I miss salt, not sugar or caffiene, just salt.
I love having some place to go....Thanks ladies.

Well Day 4, and my energy level is Amazing. I dont remember being this upbeat the first time on Ph 1. But anyway, Im having a great day. I made the Oatmeal cookies for the first time..Oh my, there good. I made a big batch to take into work for the diabetic's and they liked them too.

Julier70-Congrats on your weight loss. I am the same way with the scale, at least once a day. I go by a weekly weigh in when I calculate my ticker, or else I would be changing it every day!! I wasnt a veggie eater either, unless baked in a casserole loaded with cheese, or breaded and fried. But I have experimented alot with stir-frys and cooking veggies that I have never had before and I really like them now. I think your taste buds change. I have never liked brussel sprouts and I had some the other day and they were great!

TinaMarie-My sister is going through the same thing, with tasting the kids food..to check the temp mostly. But she finally started checking the temp with her outer lip, not tasting it, just letting it touch the tender part of her skin. And then for leftovers she started to ziplock them for the next meal or the next day and then if she didnt use them she would just pitch the bag. She cooks three different meals just for her dinner, and I know this really helped her alot. Realizing your doing it was the first habit to break. GOOD LUCK...You can do it!!

Bonnie-The scale has a spell over me too! Hope your trip to McD's was good.

Krystlewv- WOO HOO! Good for you. I think looking ahead of time is ok, lets you know your doing something right. I could never wait the full 10 days. Black bean wraps...they sound good. Where did you get this Walking video, walking is really the only exercise I do. Can you do this video on a treadmill?

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful Smashing Day, and I'll be back later to check in!!

Morning Smashers,

I am still smashing away. Dh is on Fat Smash with me and he as lost 32 lbs! I have lost 17. He is way more active than I am and it is sad.. but men tend to lose faster than women. UGH! But, I am so proud of him.

I don't know what I am making for supper tonight. We have to go get some food! I think we are going to go this evening. I am out of everything. I guess I will make something with beans. That is about all I have left.

Well, I have to cut this short. Joshua needs my attention.

Talk to you all later,
Sherry

P.S. Linda~ What a GREAT job!! I imagine that it is very rewarding.

Morning!

After lots of birthday debauchery, I am back on track today. Tomorrow there is a happy hour in my honor, but I am seriously debating whether or not to drink. It may not be worth it!

I've not yet gotten to Phase 2 and want to get there on Tuesday!!! I figure I will detox for 5 days (it was a bad, BAD birthday) and then FINALLY hit phase 2.

It's a bit discouraging not to have moved into the second phase after 19 days, but I want to go back to seeing 200 (maybe less) on the scale come Tuesday!

Happy thursday all!
