Hey Smashers!
Hope everyone is having a great day. It is rainy here. So, I won't be walking today. I am going to have to drag some exercise tapes out and do them for a day or so. mellybelly~ I also feel your pain about the halloween candy. We are just going to skip halloween all together. My son is just 16 months old... so he won't know what he is missing. lol. Jenn~ I read the other post about your slip up. All I can say is that it happens to the best of us. lol. You will get back on track. Hang in th tattoocherries~ Great Job!! 7 lbs is wonderful! talk to you all later, Sherry |
ok, so I admit it, i snuck onto the scale this AM and it says 135. I'm not all that impressed:mad: I'll be doing an official weigh in on Monday though and hope some of this is water weight as AF visits this weekend. Sticking to phase 1 till maybe the end of next week, might as well since I won't be able to chew meat anyway:(
Any ideas as to what to eat while I'm healing from having 3 extractions done?Obviously I'll be doing smoothies, and yogurt but I need something that I don't need to chew!LOL! Jenne~ I post so often because I need the support!:D Otherwise I might find my face at the bottem of a bag of chips licking the salt off it! LOL!:D |
Hey Wide~ What about mashed sweet potatoes or mashed cauliflour(sp?)
I am trying to remember what I fed my son when he didn't have any teeth? Of course, it has to be on plan too. I am like you. I post pretty often, too. Potato chips aren't my problem...my son has things like graham crackers and microwavable spaghetti that I need to stay away from. lol. That is sad, isn't it. I wouldn't actually eat my baby's food. I haven't been that desperate. Sherry |
Hey Winnipeg - my DH just had an extraction as well, and he lived on homemade chicken stock the first couple of days. Since I made it myself I could skim off most of the fat, not to mention control the salt, and he said it was more filling than the canned stuff (although Kitchen Basics might not be too bad). I think that would be ok for fat smashing.

Chips *ARE* so *MY* problem and now I want some!!! BBQ please!
|
I was thinking Old Dutch EXTRA Salt and Vinegar! LOL! Devine!
Must behave though! I guess I can eat anything as long as its mushy, or liquidy, I'll be looking forward to a big salad when I can chew again! LOL! Silly girl, already thinking about salad LOL!! |
Hi all! Shae and Jenn-glad to know I'm not alone in my hankerings for the Halloween candy. I would totally be all for no Halloween as my younger bro and I are adults now (I'm 22, he'll be 19 on the 26th), but our development has like eleventy billion kids in it so if we gave nothing out we'd prolly get egged!! I'm hoping enough kids come so that we don't have much candy left over!
Winnipeg, sorry to hear you're not so impressed w/ your results so far. I don't feel like I've lost much either...maybe it's cause we don't have as much to lose? Plus I don't know about you but my exercise has been less than good (that darn cold just wasn't going away-had to start antibiotics and mostly good now but still some occasional coughing). Oh well. At least it's enstilled some healthier habits in me. As far as mushy/soft foods, I have a few ideas (the bro just had his wisdom teeth removed last week so he was on mac n' cheese and jello for a few days!). I would get some lowfat yogurt, lots of soup, and even brown rice would be ok. Even if you don't have the energy to make soup you can buy canned and put in the blender/food processor if you find the chunks to be to hard to handle. You can also just use plain broth to make your rice with to give it a flavor boost or have it like I do...with hot sauce! (don't know if that will feel so good w/ your extractions tho lol!) And perhaps a few soft veggies added in won't hurt...like some onions cooked till soft just for flavor. Ooh! And scrambled egg whites are something nice and soft to get in some protein. If you can't add in veggies Mrs. Dash is good to toss in for a bit of flavor if you have it around. Hope this helps! |
Absolutly helps! Thanks everyone!
Ya, I guess it could be because I'm close to my goal...but I'm still not happy! LOL!!Doesn't help that AF is coming to visit this weekend either, I usually have a 4-6lb weight gain before.... |
Well all I am still on plan and doing good. I did have one little slip last night at the bowling alley. I ate a couple of my teamates nacho chips with spicy cheese. I'm proud that it was only a couple cause she got like this HUGE order and couldn't finish even half and then shoved them at me and said you can have em' I'm done. I took a couple without thinking and then realized what I was doing and threw the rest away after making sure she didn't want them. So yeahhh me!! That was a huge NSV for me cause I used to be one of those "well I already ate some I may as well finish cause I already screwed up" kind of people. I am not going to make it to the gym today. I am going to try and do a dvd here at home. I am so sick. I have a sinus infection, the beginnings of an upper respitory infection (and the nasty cough that goes along with that) and fever. I have asthma so when I get sick like this it makes my asthma flare up and I don't have an inhaler right now. I'm waiting for the doc to call one in for me so I'm really struggling. DH stayed home this morning to get the kids off to school because I can't even stand up without getting dizzy and coughing like crazy and he didn't want me trying to drive like that.
I don't know if I've lost any weight but you guys know those fat dimples in the sides of our thighs, well I noticed yesterday that mine are starting to go away and my butt is getting firmer and my belly is jiggling less so I'm pretty excited. Well I guess that's about all for now. I'll TTYL. |
Haven't posted in a while but I finished day 9 of detox yesterday and I lost 9 pounds.......hmmmm maybe this really works.....

crunchies
I've been smashing right along. I still have to concentrate on what I'm cooking/eating but its getting easier. I just modify my normal dinners for versions that are allowable.
The main thing I miss is the crunchies at night while watching tv. I think I'm going to try to make something on the line of chex mix. Since Chex and cheerios are on phase 2 I'm going to spray them with a little olive oil spray, sprinkle seasoning on them and bake them like normal. Should work. I'll post and let everyone know how it goes. Then for you that want barbecue just shake on a little chili powder or any other spice desired. I've noticed that if I drink plenty of water I lose pretty well, if I don't, I won't. For those not losing well. Don't give up. Keep on smashing. Look over your diets. Are you eating enough???? |
Hey Everyone,
Rainy and cold here today. I love this weather... but it does hinder my walking. I love to get outside. I would do it in the cold, too. But, I don't want to get Joshua out in the weather. I feeling smaller today. I am not bloated. I was able to put on a pair of pants that I hadn't worn since before I got PG. They were a bit snug.. but I wore the suckers any way. lol. I am going to use them to measure my success. When they get to where they aren't tight anymore... I will buy a smaller pair and use them until I get to my goal. dweeb~ I have noticed that when I drink a lot of water, I seem to lose more too. I just have so much trouble getting the water to go down w/out wanting to gag. The snack mix sounds good. Braydonsmom~ Congrats on the loss! Glad it worked for you. timmyshawn~ Good job just eating two nachos. When I first started phase one. I caught myself tasting my son's food to see if it was too hot before I gave it to him. Those little tastes add up!! Hope you feel better soon. mellybelly~ Yeah, you WOULD probably get egged. lol Wide~ It does get harder when you get close to your goal. Hang in there! Have a good day! Sherry |
Timmy- GREAT JOB! Now I want nachos with spicy cheese ;)
Bray- Great job on the loss!!! Dweeb- water *is* key! My wife would LOVE mox Chex mix! Let me know how it turns out and then post the receipe!!! Shae- good idea to use the pants! I wish I had saved my blue size 22 pants! I am a 16 now and would like to have seen the progress on the pants I wore nearly everyday because they were the only ones that fit! As for me, I didn't plan too well today and it shows. I got lazy last night and didn't make it to the grocery store. After a few days of eating by my old ways (and feeling crappy too), I went back to phase 1 to detox and yesterday was rough. Carrot cake at work (& crazy coworker again telling everyone why I wasn't eating it) and cravings for chocolate! But I didn't give in -- I did eat a bit too much last night of OP snacks after dinner but that is ok. I was hungry. 2 apples and popcorn will NOT kill me. Today, I had veggie chili for breakfast since I got to work too late, no snack so an early lunch (huge salad). I bought a yogurt but it's got 2g of fat in it and is sugar laiden. I am debating on whether nothing is better than the yogurt. I am making the grocery list now and going straight from work to buy the groceries. Even if my feet kill me!!! (wearing heels for the first time in a long time AND after that huge hike on Tuesday). |
Hello, I am on day 7 and I feel good the two other ladies that were on the diet with me have quit they couldn't get it together so here I am hanging on. I am so glad that I have you all to come to. Stick it out ladies. I dont exercise really before I get out of bed I move every part of my body from my toes to my face, muscle movements and I hold up my buttocks away from the mattress and hold in my stomach till it aches a little. I try to walk at least 30mins. a day. I just might see that 1 in front of my weight soon. When I read everyone's posts it gives me the strength to keep going.
