I got this answer from the yahoo fat smash group. Dr. Ian is a member and he answers some of the questions.

***Plain oatmeal is best, you can have it with one packet or tsp of Splenda. Prepackaged oatmeal can have added sodium and sugars that fall under a different name. If you really must use them, it might slow your weight loss down.***

I add fruit or yogurt. It helps. I can't stand it either. Cinnamon and splenda is good, too.

Hope that helps!

I make regular oatmeal and add pumpkin spice. I will try adding Splenda too. If sounds good.

I was eating the Weight Smart Oatmeal for the first two days, then searching on this website I found some "cookies" that another member recommended, this is the best way to get your oatmeal in and it is okay tasting.
1 c oats
3 tbsp egg white
1 mashed banana
add spices (I did a little vanilla and tons of cinnamon)
I also added an really chopped up apple.

make into cookie shape, bake at 350 for about 10-20 mintues, I actually turned them over in the half way points because the first time I didn't and they were too soft and chewy. So, they come out nice, you can make a batch and then reheat in the oven to keep the cruchy taste.

Enjoy.

I use the Quaker Lower Sugar oatmeal. There is not as much sugar as the regular flavor vaieties, but I can't tell the difference and there are fewer calories too 110 vs 160.

Those prepackaged instant oatmeals are awful. If you ever took the time to make some steel cut oats you'd never go back to the nutritionless packages.
