Day 10 and they scale said...............4 pound GONE! It wasn't the 5 that I wanted, but I'm very happy with the results. I'm continuing on Phase 1 through Friday. This weekend is going to be bad (well, Saturday and Monday are), so Sunday is going to also be a Phase 1 day. Possibly next week too!
I'm kind of afraid to add in things. I don't want to give myself permission to go overboard. I feel great on Phase 1, not missing anything, so I may just stay here for a while and see how it goes. :carrot: Bye Bye 4 pounds! :carrot: |
Congratulations! You are all doing so well! I was away till last night. I started this morning. So many of you have completed phase one and lost weight since I was here last. Great Job!! I'm so excited and I know I'm following along behind you. The hardest things for me will probably be making myself do the exercise and drink the water. But today I walked 30 minutes already and I am currently drinking water. I still have to go shopping and get all the food but I started with what I had in the house so I had egg whites, blueberries and a cup of milk for breakfast.
This morning I had my husband take 3 pictures of me as Dr. Ian recommended. oh boy... me in my bathing suit.. front, back, and side. It is hard to see that. So I printed them and started a scrapbook. I put them in and will journal throughout and add pictures periodically of my progress. I have tried to lose weight many times in the past. This is the first time I am scrapbooking/journaling my progress. I just feel this time is it. Thank you for sharing your stories and progress. Also I have had many questions about hte program reading the book and many of you have answered my questions. Good luck! Stay strong!! :) |
Welcome, happyface! I truly believe it was easier than I thought it would be. I'm a junk food junkie, and I used to eat out everyday with my kids. Now we eat at home and healthier food. Good luck!!
Today's plan: B: oatmeal with 2% milk then 30 minute walk S: banana and fruit smoothie L: salad of some sort (have to eat out, my daugher's getting her 5 year old pics taken today :) around lunch time) S: apple D: brown rice with veggies |
Day 11 and still have not weighed in. I feel GREAT. I just got in from a 4 mile run/walk...working on running that 100%. I thought about having coffee today and decided I did not really want it. No big plans this weekend so I may just do Phase 1 and weigh in next Tuesday...that will be 2 weeks on the plan. I really hope to lose like 8 or so pounds..I will try the brown rice pasta today. I also bought some italian salsa at Trader Joe's and I will try that on it. I know what I will really want is a heaping spoonful of parm cheese on it...oh well.:hungry:

:chef: Almost forgot to share this recipe...I made a batch and have been having them with a big glass of milk for breakfast:
Oatmeal cookies: 1 cup uncooked (old fashioned) oatmeal 1/4tsp salt 1 ripe mashed banana..the riper the better 1 egg white (or 1/4 cup egg sub) 2 packets of Splenda 1 Tblsp of cinnamon 1/4 tsp vanilla extract 1/8 tsp almond flavoring Mix the ingredients together and spoon by teaspoon into cookie sheet (I spray with Pam) cook 10 -15 minutes in 350 degree preheated oven.:cookie: Yumm-o |
Hi, I am starting this diet on Monday. Any tips would be great. I have already bought and read the book. It is very vague. The no coffee thing and no diet pepsi is going to be the hardest thing for me. I am not a big meat person, hated South Beach, so this should be good. I am praying that I can lose a lot. I have been trying to lose 20lbs for over six months and nothing is working. I have done WW off and on for the past 5 years and have been successful but now for some reason I can't lose on it. Thought I would give something new a try, trick my body...Does the oatmeal have to be plain and can we use salt, doesn't say we can't but then it adds it in Phase 2...so not sure. That is one thing I can't give up is salt...Do we have to eat the yogurt, oatmeal and brown rice...?

start smashing today
Hi, I have been reading here for about a week while I waited for my book from Amazon. You are all doing so good I couldn't wait any longer-I went and bought the last copy at the bookstore! I have never 'chatted' or done anything online, so bear with me while I learn-ok? I just really want to follow along with people doing it. I have been watching everything you guys are doing on Phase I but I have a question-what is a lentil and how do you cook it? :D
Lunch is over- back to work just wanted to jump in here and get started. Thanks for being here and Good Luck. |
Fat smashers here is a delicous recipe that I think you will enjoy on phase 2 and for the rest of you life!!!!
TACO CHILLI Don't drain anything fry 2 lbs. hamburger with one medium onion and 3 stalks celery, then stir in one packet Taco mix In large pot - 1 can kidney beans 1 can pinto beans 1 can whole corn 1 can chilies 1 can diced tomatoes 2 cans crushed tomatoes (I used fresh tomatoes only because I had them) 3 cups water 1 packet Wish-Bone ranch dressing Simmer one hr. YUM |
Sounds good! What an interesting idea to add ranch mix to it :)
Hey, fellow smashers, don't forget to add your weight loss to our thread in mini-goals. Link at the top of the page :D |
Jaybird,
I've actually done WW too and got stuck. This really help unstick me. I'm day 3 phase 1 . I was actually afraid of either not eating enough or too much so I've incorporated using the food list on phase 1 but counting my target points. So far so good it's working. Day one I know I didn't eat enought and I didn't feel so good yesturday and today I did great. Even after a party I went to this afternoon. I know you're not supose to weigh in until day 10 but what can I say I"m impatient and weighed in. I'm down 4 lbs! If that's not a motivator to keep going I don't know what is. Best of luck to you and all the other smashers |
Hey all,
My husband and I are starting the fat smash diet the day after labor day. I wanted to start it earlier... but he told me that if I waited until after the holiday that he would start it with me. I couldn't pass that up! So, until then... I am gonna be lurking and asking questions, if that is OK?? :) It seems as though everyone is doing really good. I can't wait to get started. Sherry |

Hi all....well I messed up my detox :( I was running late, and did not plan ahead. I debated whether or not I should not eat until I could get something on plan or go through a drive thru. The drive thru won.....:(
I need to figure out an emergency plan so I don't go off program again! |
