I think it's amazing how many people have said that! Even I feel full all of the time.

Btw, I'm planning to try the brown rice pasta tonight, so I'll give you a review :)

Hey everybody!
Day 1 for me. :) I have a couple of questions if y'all don't mind.
first, can you have any splenda?
second, does anyone have any smoothie recipes to share?
thanks! Linda

Here is a smoothie recipe I found - It's phase 1

Fruit Smoothie

½ plain yogurt
1 c. light vanilla soy milk
10 fresh frozen strawberries, give or take a few.
A dash of cinnamon

Directions

Blend yogurt and soy milk and cinnamon in a blender for a quick second.
Then add the frozen strawberries one at a time until they are all incorporated and your smoothie is smooth.

Serve in your favorite chilled mug and enjoy.

Tips: You can basically add any fruit you like to your smoothie. If your smooth gets to thick add some more milk. If it is not thick enough add some ice. However, if you freeze your fruit in advance it should thicken just fine.

Another lunch/dinner idea for you all...

Today I made grilled eggplant (seasoned with pepper garlic basil and spray olive oil to control the oil). I rolled up slices of tofu in it then I put a little maranara sauce that I made over it and yum yum yum. I never thought I would like tofu but it pretty much takes on the flavor of what you put it with and it's low in sodium (something I have to watch).

Hi there...Today is Day 10 but since I had a little slip up on day 6 I am going to continue the phase 1 a couple more days.

THe smoothie recipe that I have been using.
1 banana ( I use small to med size)
1 cup non fat plain yogurt
1 cup FROZEN strawberries
1/4 cup FROZEN blueberries
about 1/2 cup or so of fresh squeezed OJ
and a handful of ice.

I love this smoothie.

Quick Question

This is my first day of the diet and my question is about the measuring of oatmeal. Are you supposed to measure it dry or after you add the water? Silly I know, but I just want to be sure.

Jen415 08-30-2006 03:15 PM

Colery: I measure mine after cooking....

pmteub 08-30-2006 05:48 PM

I am on day 9! But the silly thing is I dont want to step on the scale. I am going to stick to Phase 1 through friday - then enjoy the weekend with friends camping and then return to phase 1 for an additional detox after I indulge.....the margaritas are already calling my name.

Good luck to those of you getting started. And continued success to those that are on the plan

Pam

I am still waiting on the book and will be hitting TJs for the brown rice pasta. Also got some great recipes from the yahoo group I found off the fatsmash.com site. I can not wait to join the rest of you. Kathy

I tried the brown rice pasta tonight and it was just like regular pasta! I was surprised :) I sauteed a sliced portabello mushroom and small zucchini, then stirred in some Lucini brand artichoke and tomato sauce (my fav) and added the cooked pasta. It was delicious! However, I didn't feel as full as I usually do after eating the 1 cup of rice, so I may need to do a little comparison of the pasta vs the plain brown rice. I measured 2 oz of the pasta before cooking. Anyway, it was good :T

Thanks for the recipes, buttercup and ladybug! I think I'll try the eggplant this weekend after I go to the farmers market. Thanks!

I miss my evening glass ( or 2) of wine the most :(

Hiya Smashers! Today starts Day 4 of Phase I for me.

We went out to Applebee's last night, and I was able to find something on the Weight Watchers menu that was a (mostly) perfect Phase I meal. I can't remember what it was called, but it was a salad made with mostly greens and tomatoes with shrimp on it. (Yes I did eat the shrimp.) The whole meal was 210 calories, so I don't think I need to start totally over with Phase I.

Have a Smashing Day!!

Phase I ended yesterday. Weighed myself this morning and am down 4 lbs.

Suzanne thanks for the review of the rice pasta. I will look in a few health food stores here as the grocery stores don't carry it. If not then I'll order some on line if I can. I need something more than brown rice.

I hope adding meat now in Phase II doesn't add or slow down the pounds. I was on another site and someone said that happened to them and it took awhile for the pounds to start coming off.

Good Job Everyone.
