Talking New to FS.....Starting tomorrow........

Hey ya'll, I have been here MANY many times before and must admit that my willpower is NIL. I also have a HORRIBLE follow thru. I am starting tomorrow (Today I am going to concentrate on exercise and low cals) and then follow it from there. I am sick of FAD diets and being fat. I know, I have said it before. I am here, try and try again right? I look forward to the wisdom everyone has to contribute..to me AND my life. Thanks Ya'll!

One day at a time. And when you're counting up bad days, make sure you count up the good days too! Give yourself lots of short term goals and leave the distant future in the distant future. You can only do today.

kelly- I totally hear you on trying over and over again! This is my second time back on this plan and have tried several other diets as well..so far I have stuck with it and only cheated a little bit. I think what is diff for me is that once I cheat I dont give up. I understand I messed up but then I stop and start fresh the next day....I used to say 1 cookie leads to 5 and then I am binging the rest of the night...now that I messed up I might as well go back to the way I was! I know you can do it if I can do it!

Hey your here and thats a step in the right direction!!!

I have stuggled for a long time and my "LIGHTBULB" moment came when I had the relization on being 50 and still chubby! I want to be 33 and feel and look great! so when I am running I just remember what my goals are and when I want to obtain them and that keeps me motivated. I dont have a problem working out, its the eating that gets me everytime. I have found that if I create a menu for a week it helps me stay focused! I may not follow it for every meal, yet when I am hungry I know what i can eat instead of finding junk!! good luck!!! Keep posting and try to post your daily menu its a fun was to stay accountable! bye

Hi Kelly -

Some really good advice in the previous replies but this one really sums it up for me ...

Thanks for sharing, Julie

Today was my first day on Detox and it wasn't so bad. I can't help but find myself being skeptical of this or any diet for that matter - considering my history with fad diets - but Julie, your advice hit home for me! I realize now that I need to start setting smaller goals for myself instead of looking at the future, then getting depressed and giving up because reaching that goal seems just too far off to reach.

So here are my short term goals: 1. To exercise at least 40 minutes every morning this week before work and 2. To lose 4 lbs this week.

Kelly - Stay Strong and Think Positive! We can get through this together!

my hardest part is exercising! I have a job where I am on my feet all day and I do alot of walking! But when I come home I just want to relax! so getting motivation to get out and walk is just alot for me! I try to get out at least 2x a week walking my dog and then I try water aerobics 2x also because its a workout but is nice to be in the water!
