ok so i had to post this in case others run into any setbacks....mine...which just occurred...is due to the aerobic exercise i was doing...walking/jogging around a track...shin splints kicked in....which is VERY upsetting...ive been going to the track for the past week and nothing...but this weekend...it started...and tonight..i had to stop after the 3rd lap (actually couldnt finish the 3rd lap)....could barely walk to my car..let alone drive home...and i am in PAIN right now...so yea...VERY discouraging....
well...one of the hardest parts of injuries is that it is a physical and mental set back...that needs to be overcome...i have been in sports my whole life up till about 5 years ago...so mentally i was always prepared to handle these "issues"....one of the best things you can do is...not get discouraged....as a matter of fact....rest....let yourself heal....and look forward to the next time you can work out like that again...sometimes your injuries are geared to one area so you can do a separate workout thats just as good and less stress on certain parts...for me right now...the replacement until i heal from this will be the gym...i might consider doing the exercise bike if my legs are feeling fine...but remember not to strain yourself to the point were you injure yourself worst.....that will only elongate the injury and cause you more downtime...
moral of the story....relax...dont get discouraged...find alternatives that do not stress or place strain on your current injury....DONT GET DISCOURAGED....its just a bump in the road...bumps can be overcome....
