Good evening everyone...

I am sooooo sorry I haven't been around... I just don't know where the time goes!!! I am beginning to feel that "closed-in" feeling again... I really don't like it when I feel this way! I have not had a chance to read and catch up so forgive me for not posting to each of you at the moment - I just wanted you all to know that I have been thinking of you and that I am still around & well, but just very busy. I will come back after the 4th Holiday and fill you all in... I have had some good days with Joe that I would love to share with you.

Be seeing you soon :sunny:

Hello everyone! Sorry I have not been on, but school has kept me very budy. It is nearing the end of the classes for my two 5-week classes, and then the algebra class ends August 11th. Hooray!

Sorry for not posting to each of you at the moment, but I am taking a break from writing my research paper. Next time, I promise! :D

I do have some good news, though. Instead of going to the public university (University of Nebraska at Omaha) I'm going to the College of Saint Mary! (http://www.csm.edu) It's an all-girls Catholic college. I think I will like it much more there. I'm taking a tour next Tuesday. I can't wait to be finished with my work at the community college!

Well, I have to get back to work. Talk to you all later!!! :dizzy:   :smug: :^: ;) :p :)

Hi I just want to get back into posting again. Please forgive me for not posting to each person. I lost my little doggie last night. I went out for the first second time last night to the store and while we were bringing in what I bought she got out and gayle our older dog likes to get out and just run. She is smart enough not to go in the street but my pepper ran after her and before I could catch her someone ran over her. They didn't even stop! What if that had been a child? I am so heart broken. She was my buddy. She even has her own blanket and pillow in my bed. Most of you on here have pets that are like your babies. And she was mine. Everyone in my house has had many break downs today. The kids think I should get another dog. I willing to go look but none will replace my baby.
Sue- Yes my Mom is staying with me until her house is rebuilt. She made me go with her today to look at the house (to get out) and they are making progress. What started it was her power box in the and because she didn't leave her house often (she had a 95 hundi? with 30 thousand miles on it) they think fumes built up and her elect. box sparked and the garage went up pretty fast. The BOOm the neighbors heard were tires from the car popping.
I am sorry whe ever lost the 10 lbs you are doing great! And to all who are feeling we are fighting a losing a losing battle it seems like we can't seem to lose that is what Satan wants is to do give up and keep gaining. I may not be losing as quick as I want but I not gaining! I will try to post again soon. I am keeping all CE in my prayers.
Sandra

4th of July poem

Jesus on the 4th of July

We gather round to celebrate on Independence Day
Pay homage to our country as the children run and play.

With barbaques and picnics and fireworks in the air
The flag we own is proudly flown to show how much we care.

The stars and stripes spell freedom she waves upon the breeze
While bursts of colors can be seen above the towering trees.

This is all quite wonderful, we revel in delight
But God above in divine love has brought this day to light.

With just a stroke of liberty, a touch of His great hand
He gave democracy to us and helped this country stand.

The stripes upon our stely flag were touched by His sweet grace
Each star of white that shines so bright reflects His loving face.

So as you turn to face the flag for battles that were fought
Be filled with pride for those who died and freedoms that were bought.

But don't forget to thank the One Who gives the bright display
The reason why we paint the sky, on Independence Day.

Hope you enjoyed the poem!
Happy Independence Day!

I had a great week.....I'm still going strong, although it has been super duper hot lately....42 plus humidity yesterday! :o A little too hot for my liking....and our air conditioner decided to quit.....FANTASTIC!!!! Hehehehe!!! Tryin to stay cool over here!

Happy 4th to all you Americans! Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

wilma12 07-01-2005 10:17 AM

Good Morning!

Happy Birthday Canada!!

Sue: Your poem is beautiful and suits both our countries. We should be and are very grateful for the freedoms we have. Thanks for sharing it.

It's a beautiful morning here. We've had so much rain that the flooding is really bad. We've had to cut back on doing laundry and showers, etc. for a couple of days to ease the pressure on the sewer systems. Yesterday at work we couldn't use the washrooms because if you flushed it would overflow. The water was up to the top of the manholes. So, we would run to the closest Wendy's to use theirs. (They weren't having the same problems we were.) Interesting day!!

Today is a day off because of Canada Day. We hope to get a few things finished around the house. It's so nice to have an extra day to do that. We are trying to get finishing touches done on our renovation before the wedding and with DH working such long hours it's hard to get these things done.

Sami: I am so sorry about your pup. It's hard to lose a member of the family like that and especially in the insensitive way it happened. HUGS to you.

Sunny: Glad to see your post. We miss you.

Rachel: Glad to hear things are working out for you and your education. Keep up the good work.

wkgirl: You are doing awesome with your weightloss. Way to go. What incentive though. My DH has been encouraging me to buy new clothes and I just cant say NO to that. HAHA! It's been fun trying on new things and realizing that the smaller sizes do fit. It's an awesome feeling.

I've never been in your area but I hear it's really beautiful there. I live in Winnipeg. We used to live farther north in Manitoba and it was lovely there too. I miss the scenery!

Have a wonderful day!

Oh Sami, I'm so sorry about Pepper....so so sorry. :grouphug:

HAPPY 4th of JULY !!

PTL for our great nation and the many freedoms we enjoy (&so many we take for granted!) :woo:

Anyone have great plans for the weekend? Mine - well Saturday the humidity is suppose to be lower & quiet pleasant so I plan on working in the yard, finish the planting (flowers) and do some grass cutting & trimming, clean the porch & furniture & possibly the two decks??, and hopefully get things in shape for the summer. Since this is July 1st I figure it's about time to get all this in order!! (Nah, nothing slow about me!) Sunday, just church & hopefully some R&R. Then I have to work Monday, double time and a half (like they had to force me to take this shift!) But we never do anything on the 4th, no family stuff, no picnic, nothing, so I might as well work, someone's got to do it right? :joker:

Canadian Mickey/Amanda - congrats on the good interview - prayers it leads where you want. Have you heard any more? Keep us posted okay? Great job on being down the 10# too. :D

wkgirl/Karla - a good pedometer?? like wilma getting hers from cereal, I got mine from McDonalds. Of course you can get about anything on ebay, Wal-Mart has some cheap ones, or if you're looking for better & more features you might have to go to a sporting goods store but you'll pay better for it also. :^: I would like one that uses regular batteries, I hate those little rounds ones, AA or AAA would be great and probably last longer, if you find one like this, let me know. You realize 12,000 steps is 6 miles! 14,000 is 7 miles! That's awesome, keep it up and that extra 20 pounds will come off before you know it. Great incentive and good for DH to recognize the work you're putting into getting this weight off. :smug:

mitchypoo - 64 oz of water. . . whew, it's hard to do, isn't it? I keep a bottle of water at my desk instead of pop or coffee and I think that helps. ;) I also keep a glass of water on the kitchen counter when I'm at home so it's always ready for a sip.

doitforme - hot and humid here too for way too long than I care to remember. Adoption plans/travel plans seem to be coming along real well, prayers for a safe travel. Church sounded great, it's amazing what a few little touches will do. :) Also loved the poem, - have a great 4th!

teel - hope you're having a great holiday!!! Rest & enjoy!

mkay - you poor thing, kidney/bladder infection, doesn't sound like much fun at all. :( Time for a good dose of antibiotics, - hope you're on the mend. Yes, I do walk a lot, that's about the only exercise I get, Fred has been calling me a 'walk-aholic' - guess it could be worse. . .

mnewton/myisha - checked out Channon's website and loved it! But you didn't tell us you had two beautiful angels there - Christianna is a dollbaby - beautiful eyes and I bet she's a GREAT big sis. :) Chris' posts were awesome too and so inspiring. Glad to hear all your kids are well and it's camp time! Mine goes to day camp (for one more week) and loves it! :D

SunnyD - good to see you pop in - did 52 miles in June! How did you & Joe do on your walking? I have set my goal for 50 again in July but I think it will be difficult to obtain due to the heat & humidity but I'm going to push myself. Come back soon & update us.

lateralus - great job on your studies - College of St. Mary's sounds great too. . . prayers it all works out for you, - now get back to the books! ;)

sami - sorry to hear about your dear little pepper, they do become like 4-legged furry kids - hard to believe we could love them so much. Hope you have a great weekend dear, :dizzy: sounds like you need it.

Well, did get 52 miles in for June, my goal is 50 for July. Fred ended up with 96 miles! He wanted 100 but it rained last night and he didn't want to go the park by himself (I was out-of-town -daytrip for work- until late yesterday). Fred and I are talking about walking early in the morning to try to avoid some of the humidity. Sounds great I know but I have this affection for sleep, especially before 6am but we'll see, maybe a few days anyway.

Have a 'Josh Groban' cd in. . . have you guys ever listened to this guy? I love him, such a beautiful, clear voice. . . hmmmm. :)

Hope everyone has a great & SAFE 4th! - Margie
June miles = 52
Total walked since 4.4.5 = 161.9

Jayne~Welcome!! Yes, of course you can join us, please do, don't just peek in, come around the corner and take a sit and tell us about you.

This thread may be a little slow here right now, but don't let that deter you, it's because we are typically slower on the weekends (like to think everyone devotes more time to their families) and it's also a holiday weekend and the summer. But we are here and will support you in any way we can.

What is the McDougall weightloss plan like?

mnewton2 07-01-2005 01:45 PM

Good Morning!!

Sami - I am so sorry to hear about Pepper. My prayers are really with you and your family for peace and a breakthrough from all of the things that are happening. God is still in control and He will NEVER leave you, nor forsake you!

Well, I am heading out and will probably not be able to post until Monday. Lots of stuff to do this weekned for the 4th and preparation for Africa!!! 17 days to go!!!

 Hi Everyone!

I'm Lori and live in Illinois with my dh of 28 years and our 5 kids. They range in age from 19 down to nearly 7!

I've been overweight for most of my life and am turning 50 two weeks from today and enough is enough! I'm ready to get this off! I have over 100 pounds to lose and with the help of our Lord and Savior, I know I can do this!!

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Have a blessed Sunday and great 4th!

Lori in IL

Mitchypoo 07-03-2005 11:37 AM

Lori in IL~Welcome and please come here and post often. Wow, you must be super busy with your family! We're here for you.

I'm having a quiet Sunday so far, have a lot of stuff to get done today. May go to the art museum this afternoon, maybe with Eric if it rains, then he can't be on the golf course, otherwise, i'm going alone. It'll be my fun time for the weekend.

This weekend is usually kind of a bad weekend for me b/c this is the weekend that i split up with my ex-bf and also the day that he abused me. I have to find new memories for this day. I'm doing better than past years so i'm thankful. The Lord takes care of me.

Have a great 4th!

Hello Group, My name is Connie and I am trying to figure out how to join a group. Can someone please help me? I am 56 and an elementary teacher. I have been married for 35 years and have one son. I also have two beautiful grandaughters. I have lost 12 pounds since school was out in May. I need to lose 77 more. My weight is beginning to affect my health and I am getting very concerned. I keep a daily prayer journal and doing my best to stay on a 1200 calorie diet. I just don't think I can do this without divine intervention. I know how much encouragement from others helps and would love to join your group.
