My weight loss will be halting now! :p We're expecting another baby! :D Very excited!- a little sad to put BFL on hold..but its for a good reason!

I found a new pedometer-even shows calories burnt, km , steps, and the time!
Hopefully I wont run over this one! :lol:

Happy 4th of July to my American friends. Let's celebrate the freedoms we have in our countries.

As you can see by my signature my weight is down 1 more lb. Its coming off slowly but surely. I'm finding that if I stay away from processed foods the weight keeps coming off. I'm very thankful for that because it sat at one place for so long.

Karla: Glad you found a pedometer and a good one at that. Mine is very obviously from a cereal box becasue it moves at the slightest bump. Hope it provides you with incentive to keep moving.

Connie: It looks like you've alredy joined our group. A big welcome to you. this is an extremely supportive group. You can't go wrong being here. Post often and let us know how you're doing.

Michele: So sorry that this weekend brings back bad memories. WTG on wanting to create some good ones. You will prevail and become stronger because of what you've been through. HUGS!!

Lori: A big welcome to you too. Like I said to Connie we have a great bunch of supportive people here. I've been posting for 5 years now and credit a large part of my weight loss to the support I get here. Keep posting!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the welcome, and my own welcoming to the others who've just joined too!

It's been one week since I've stopped drinking sodas (only have them once in a great while from now on), and I'm using splenda/equal instead of regular sugar. I can't weigh (de-cluttered my scales a few years ago!) but really don't wanna. I am going strictly by sizes and my clothes this go 'round......because that is where it really counts, isn't it??? (I finally figured that one out!)

Sooo...........I'm looking forward to out-growing my clothes!

We are having a quiet Fourth of July here- I hope that all of you have a blessed USA Birthday!

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I really feel at home here and am so glad I found you all!
We celebrated the 4th at my parents and had a great time. They live on a lake and the kids had a great time in the water. There was a time I loved the water too, but just won't put a swim suit on anymore - sigh - it will happen again one day!
My healthy eating plan worked ok at mom's except for my youngest had a birthday and I had some cake. Wish now I hadn't, but it's onward and upward.
I need to exercise more and it's hard in this heat, but I will do the stationery bike a little each day - that's a start anyway!

Good Morning!!

I pray all of you had a wonderful 4th of July!! :) My family and I had a BBQ at a park around the corner from our house. My sisters and their families and my mother also joined us. There where 8 kids and 7 adults. We got there around 4pm and stayed until 7:30. Then we went down to the Myrtle Edwards Park downtown Seattle and watched the big firework show on the water. It was amazing!! I used to always watch it on tv, but this time I wanted my kids to be able to see the show. We were so close it looked like they were coming right at us!! We didnt get home until around 11:30 so I am really tired. It was worth it though.

Great news!! Channon is coming home today!! We are so excited! It has been a long time since the surgery. She was supposed to go home 5 days after the tumor was removed and ended up staying 1 month. We are praising God that she is better and ready to begin her little life cancer free!!

Lost 4 lbs last week!! Yea!! :goodscale I am so happy because I gained before but now I am back on track!! PTL!!

Well I have to get back to work now!! Will post again soon!!

I have been reading the post, and just love how encouraging everyone is.
I have been trying for about 5 years to get my wt. down, and although I refuse to give up, it is discouraging sometimes. I have Hypothyroid, and have been working w/ and endocrinologist to try and get my numbers straight. I know for me it will be a long hard battle, but need understanding.
I am married 18yrs, just turned 40 :D June 5th. I have 3 kids, 17,13,11 and they keep me busy. I work as an Instructional Assistant for special needs children, through the school year and absolutely love it. Right now I am working summer school, which is w/ autistic children only. It is a very rewarding job, I truly feel blessed. I also teach Sunday school for the 5th and 6th grade, and direct the Junior choir at church. So that's me.
I haven't figured out where to find all the pictures, or where to post. I would like to become a regular..
I use to come here well to a different group, but it just didn't feel right. I stumbled quite accidently here, by searching up something else. And this thread came up, I had to look. And I'm anxicous to get started.

Welcome Trish- We have alot in common I am 42 years old, but very involved with my youth group, and teach junior church quarterly. I however am still single. But that is O.K. Come back and let us know how your doing.
Mom2five- I love being in the water, I wear a conservative suit, it is not fitted, so it doesn't show quite all my imperfections. The top is loose fitting and bottom is shorts. but it is very comfortable, and I like swimming to much to give it up, you should think about it. Then you wouldn't miss out on the fun with your kids, and it is good exercise. Just a thought! There is an unwritten rule that you have to have a little piece of cake at a birthday party isn't there.

Good morning!!

Great news!! Channon is at home and doing well! :dance: My SIL said she is sleeping very well, the swelling in her head has gone down and is back to normal. And the infection that she had has somehow "disappeared"!! We know Who did that now dont we!! God is so good and faithful!! :yes: She is still fighting the previous infection. What I found out was that the blood infection she had infected the bone graph that they put in her head so she is still on a very strong antibiotic to try and take the infection away. If the antibiotics do not work, they are going to have to go in again and take the bone graph out and put another one in which means another brain surgery for Channon. :( We are praying that this 6 week regimine will take the infection away so that she does not have to have anymore surgeries which seems to be the cause for all of the infections. Please continue to pray with us for a complete healing and recovery for Channon. :angel:

Canadian Mickey - Cousins from Africa? What part? I am going to Africa on July 18th. I cant wait. I know it was wonderful being able to see them again after so long. What a blessing. Dont worry about the job, God is in control. I have a testimony to share with you about how I just went through the same thing you are going through now. I stayed at home with my two youngest for the last 3 years while my husband worked. He was given a job opportunity to work with King Co. and he took it. It was a great opportunity and more money which we really needed at the time. I then recieved a temporary position at King Co. It was supposed to only be for 1 mo and ended up being exteneded for approx 5 mos. So all is well and we are both working. I was then informed that my job would be up on June 15th. No problem, I am thinking because my husband is still working. He is then informed a few days later that he is being laid off and his last day is June 30th. Oh my goodness!! Talk about panick!!! So we just kept praying and realized that God is still in control and He will never leave us nor forsake us. So we prayed and received peace about the whole situation. One thing that our pastor always says is "Gods will is Gods bill." :lol: So we knew that he was going to take care of us and our 3 kids. I applied for about 65 jobs and received 2 interviews. I ended up getting hired permanently with King Co. with a significant raise. My husband still was laid off but it worked out great because my son has to go to summer school and we were trying to figure out how to get him back and forth. Then he was offered a night position working only 3 hours a night 5 days a week and making more than he was making at his 9-5!! He also applied for a job that he has wanted to do for years working as a juvenille detention officer. He just received a letter asking him to come to the orientation on July 12th and he will most likely be starting in Sept!! Perfect because that is when my son goes back to school!! See how good and faithful God is? What He has done for us, He can do for you too!! Just rely completely and totally on Him. He knows what He is doing!! I am praying for you and your family. ;)

GOOD MORNING CHICKIES!

I TRIED I really did! Got up there on that bike DETERMINED to do at least 5 minutes, hopefully 10. I DID 10 minutes! :cp:

But............when I went to get off, the arm thingys that have a MIND of their own got stuck on my big belly. SIGH - as I was getting off the thing I pulled it over and I fell. The whole bike fell on top of me! I was screaming and crying and I thought I broke my arm and back because they HURT! My 4 littles ran downstairs to tell my dh and he came up cussing his head off!! :stress: Not sure WHY, but that is how he deals with things! Luckily, nothing is broken but my hands won't stop shaking! I'm going to climb back up on that thing again though!

MYISHA - I'll be praying for Channon! So happy she is home!
DOITFORME - thanks for the suggestions on the swim suit issue - I'm just at the point where I am SO ashamed - I actually have around 6 or 7 swim suits in a size 26 to 28 that are really really cute - I just won't be seen in them. I shouldn't make my kids suffer, but their friends would just make fun of them for having a huge mama - of course they get it from THEIR parents -

Thank you son much for sharing that testimony with me....how easily we forget that God is in control and knows what we need before we do! Keep praying, and things will work out the way they are meant to. :)

My cousins are from the Ivory Coast and Kenya. They head back in November, so they won't be here for Christmas! Oh well....it was great to see them! One of my cousins actually just got married last year to a African Native, and it was the first time he had been to Canada, and met the family....hardly spoke a word of English, mostly French. He's a very nice man though, and he hit it off with everyone! :)

The weirdest thing happened this weekend though....I grew 1/2" taller! :eek: I'm 24 yrs old...I thought my growing days were over! So I'm no longer 5' tall, but 5'1/2" Tall.....I was so excited, that I phoned my parents right away.... :lol: :rofl: They thought I had lost it!
