Lovely Day Today...Just for Me!

EZ-
Well, I made my stay home from church worthwhile. I prayed through, annointed and consecrated my house. Then listened to a local church program on the radio and I heard some things I needed to hear.

On the other hand...at Gary's service today, he told me that there were things contrary to what I believe. Did he pick up something for himself...I'll never know. It's usually how I could change or others could change. I know...pray pray pray.

sami-
I would love to pray with DH and we do when I initiate it but he won't initiate it ever. I'm certain that is why we have so much chaos in our life. Again, I know...pray pray pray. I will and without ceasing.

Michelle-
Ohhhhh how I'd like to just sit down and tell you that you are in the place exactly where God wants you to be. Hey, I should listen to myself. Even though someone may have a partner they can still be very lonely. Wouldn't a fun movie and some popcorn with sprinkle cheese and a huge diet coke sound good right now? I'll be over. I will pray for you and when you feel a great breeze blow across your face and the wind blows your hair somewhat...I believe that is God giving me peace and enjoyment and He knows my hurts. Face to the wind I used to tell my girls.

Bunna-
Thanks for the hug...I think it was a hug. The icon didn't come through.

It was beautiful today in Michigan, I sat in the sun for a bit and read then visited some people and to just hang out with them. I took the dog and they loved her and her them. Boy, my DH is going to be 50 in Dec. EEK! I have a year to go yet...then watch out!

Thanks for all your prayers everyone.

Mitchypoo 07-25-2004 11:50 PM

Mkay, I wish we could do that too! Just sit and have some girl talk! Thank you... I'm feeling better tonight, talked to my mom and to my friend Jul from highschool, the one who just lost her brother. My problems aren't so bad when i think of it.....

OK, Gary, hope you enjoyed those Dodger dogs! Yes, i'm picking myself up and getting on with life.....

This coming week has to be better, i just know it. I got some dishes done tonight and some shopping at Target, so I'm slowly getting things done. I have goals this week. Eat at home, drink lots of water, go swimming, atleast 2 times this week.

Bunnababy 07-26-2004 01:44 AM

I want to know more about Dodger Dogs please :^:

Yes, it was a hug. Sorry the icon didn't come through.

I am off to bed hard night's work tonight and I am beat. Talk to you tomorrow.

Yep, super glue Gary. It works good if you know how to do it, although they now have a bandaid that works the same. My nurse friend at work said to go get a tetanus shot tomorrow cuz I can't remember when I had the last one. Darn cat anyway.

Mitchypoo 07-26-2004 09:41 AM

Oh Bunna, good idea, hope you do get in today for a tetanus. Easy to forget but still needed nowadays. Dodger Dogs are hotdogs and they are soooooo good. They are Oscar Meyer hotdogs but made differently i think for them. They are longer and skinnier and good. Now they have all this fancy food at the games too, but i'm happy with a dog, a beer and some peanuts thrown at me! ;)

I'm feeling good today! A little sore after the adjustment but basically feeling good. And my friend came this a.m. so i think that explains the crying......PMS.....

Someone (a guy i use to date) asked if i wanted to move back to CA with him.....tempting. He's a US Customs Agent and has an opportunity to work at LAX airport. Good move for him, and i'd be near my parents. But there's more to it than that. We'll see what God has in store for me.

Have a great Monday!

mkay 07-26-2004 12:11 PM

Goodmorning/Afternoon!

Michelle-
Whew...what alot happenin in 24 hours. California? John? Is this guy originally from CA? Actually, I'm wonderfully happy that you are feeling much better. That is good news.

PMS? Gee...who's got that? Keep me/us posted.

Bunna-
Now that you know they are hot dogs...doesn't it make you want one? You probably get sick and tired of the food prep thing all day don't you?

I LOVE alfredo sauce...yummy.

Sunny-
Whereeeeeee Arrrrreeeee Youuuuuuu!

Everyone else- Have a greeeeaaaatttt day! :flow2: :grouphug: :bubbles: (I enjoy looking at these characters)

mkay 07-26-2004 12:13 PM

Hey There!

Hi Bunna...see you are on. I'm hungry...send me some pasta and garlic bread with tons and tons of parmesean (sp) cheese!

Mitchypoo 07-26-2004 05:32 PM

I had to share this with you....

THE PURPOSE-DRIVENŽ LIFE Daily Devotional July 19, 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

God Delights in Us
by John Fischer

If you’re anything like me, you are really good at beating yourself up on a regular basis. Most of us live with a lot of guilt. We are never good enough. Everything is our fault. This is because all our lives, we have learned acceptance based on performance. If we behave properly, we will be loved and accepted, but one mess-up and love is withdrawn. We are expected to do well, so we only hear about it when we don’t.

God loves us on a wholly different basis. With God, we begin with love and acceptance and we move out from there.

When John the Baptist baptized Jesus, a voice was heard from heaven as he came up out of the water, “This is my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with him” (Matthew 3:17). At this point in his ministry, Jesus had done nothing to prove himself or earn his Father’s approval. No healings. No teachings. No disciples. His baptism signaled the beginning of his ministry, and yet we find God fully pleased with him. It was a given.

It is the same thing with us. God delights in us just as we are. You are pleasing to God already. Or to put it another way: God likes you. This may be hard to believe but it is true. You bring pleasure to God right now as you read this.

God’s love is extended freely through Christ’s death on the cross. It’s what Christ did that brings us into fellowship with God, not anything we do.

Think about it. The things you do today will not cause God to like you any more or less than he already does. That means your actions can spring from knowing you already bring God pleasure instead of trying to be worthy of it.

So take it. Bask in it. Yes, right now, without lifting a finger, God is pleased with you. He made you for this. He made you to delight in you, and you are entering into this purpose by acknowledging him in your life. This is where we start.

PDL

 at MKay. Send me some hotdogs too would ya! I love hotdogs, I mean really really love hotdogs. That is one of my favorite things to eat is a good, and I mean good, hotdog. We used to have a shop here in town that got their dogs from Chicago and they had 30 different ways of fixing them. I ate there almost everyday and never got tired of them. Then they expanded and changed hotdogs and it was never the same and then they closed (so obviously I wasn't the only one that didn't like the change.) :(

And the beat goes on....

Hello to everyone else, hope you are having a great day.

Isn't that book great Michele? A preacher friend of mine gave me a copy.

We are off to have dinner out, my first since starting South Beach so even though I am confident about knowing what my choices are I am a little nervous about standing strong and making the right choices. :fr:

EZMONEY 07-27-2004 12:35 AM

Monday

HI GALS

Just got finished taking the scardy cat pup Reba for a walk with Angie, Rylee went on one with my nephew and a few friends and their dogs. We usually walk the dogs from 8 to 8:45 so Ron doesn't have a dog to take with his buddies, they usually go around 8 or 9---hope they are just walking the dogs :^:

Did our Costco shopping tonight....$583.00...this store is just killin' me!! But when you walk out of there with $25 in water to start with...heck I remember when water was (almost) free  and there was no such thing as gatorade, and ya only got soda on "special" occasions...Hey, I'm leaving my beer out of this discussion ;) And to top it all off other than some lean pockets for my lunches we don't buy any processed food...chips aren't food right :o I mean for dinner anyway....ah man just another year towards retirement.

MICHELE Hey girl you definetly need to get back to California...you've been gone tooooo long...DODGER DOGS are from FARMER JOHN as I am sure you remebered just as soon as you read this  BUNNA she is right about them being long and skinny, they are 12" long and have a special taste as Michele mentioned, not like regular Farmer John hot dogs.

Hope you had a great dinner BUNNA...you deserve it!! Michele, Michele---it is always good if you can get to Cali. but not sure about "moving with a guy"--do you mean "live" with or just make the move together and live your own lives? Either way girl I wish you the best...at least your folks are here if it doesn't work out.

MKAY Hey I say we meet at BUNNA'S for hot dogs! and some alfredo sauce..I love alfredo sauce too, Ragu makes a "lite" one that is pretty good..I like it better than the regular, not as heavy.

Well heading off to the recliner to watch the rest of the Padre-Giant game, my Dodgers already won..YIPEE.

SUNNY, SAMI, WILMA, SHERRY, SUE, MARILYN, ANGEL and the rest..God Bless you.

wilma12 07-27-2004 09:16 AM

Good Morning!

I had my weigh in at Curves yesterday and I'm up 1/2lb. On the upside I did lose 1/2 inch off my waist and 1/2 inch off each arm. It's TOM for me too so that could explain the gain. I find it interesting that I don't lose consistantly all over my body. I lose in different spots each month. Oh well, as long as it come off right??

I've been doing the WATP tapes on the mornings I don't go to Curves. This a.m. I did the 2 mile walk and made it. It felt great!

It sounds like everyone here is doing well-other than those not posting much. Summer is such a busy time and we don't get it for very long up here so we get out and enjoy it as much as we can. I spent time in my yard just watering my flowers - very relaxing.

We have company coming again this weekend for 2 nights. I have some major cleaning to do during the evenings this week. I think we'll just barbeque so that'll be easy.

Michele: It sounds like there are many possibilities opening up for you. I'll pray for you in your decision making. I'm so glad to hear that you're not in as much pain now.

Gary: Costco!! I so know what you're talking about. I've been buying extra stuff for my guys to take to work. They love the quesedilla's from there. I get all my chicken there too and they have produce at a great price.

Sami: Good to hear from you but not so good hearing that you're in pain again. Your room sounds great. I plan to paint some walls a cinnamin color as soon as we get some renovations done. It'll go well with my moss green furniture.

Sunny: I'm so sorry about your roofer. I hope they can work it out that you can have the work done before too long. We had our shingles redone on Friday and they found some rotten wood underneath. I don't think it would have lasted another winter without serious damage.

Well, gotta get to work. Hello to mkay, bunnababy, and those I others I didn't address. I don't mean to leave anyone out. All of the sudden the time to leave for work comes up and I have to get going. Have a superday.

Mitchypoo 07-27-2004 09:55 AM

Hi guys!

No, no.........I'd never move in with him if I wasn't married to him. That's what is so confusing. We dated for awhile and then he went to GA for training for this job but we had stopped seeing eachother before he left. We've always kept in touch and I know that he has feelings for me. I'm not sure of my feelings, that's part of the problem. I guess we'd have a lot to talk about before i'd seriously consider it. But it would be nice to be in CA and have a purpose.

Of course the hotdogs are Farmer John.......what was i thinking? Guess i have been in MN too long. Bunna, i love hot dogs too.....they may be bad for you, but i like them. Here in MN we have real skin on hotdogs, they call them wieners.

Had a lot of pain last night......but overall it's better.

Dieters devotions for July 27, 2004

July 27

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Why do so many people believe that God has absolute power over life and death but doubt whether He can do anything to help them transform a small part of their own lives? Why should a few pounds of flesh be a more insurmountable obstacle than a mountain or a stone that sealed a tomb? True faith reminds us that our Lord is the Lord of the impossible. He enables us to rise above our limitations through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our God must be the Lord of the diet, too. The Lord who resurrected Jesus Christ on Easter morning will faithfully resurrect us from a tomb of obesity and flesh. Trust in God's power, for by it we are saved.
Today's thought: I need Jesus to save me from me!

mkay 07-27-2004 04:46 PM

Good Afternoon All!

Tonight I volunteer at the Shepards of Independance and maybe they will have hot dogs for dinner. I do love them so. Cheap, expensive...they are all good. It is one of my favorites as well; especially grilled.

We play bingo every other Tuesday. My prize stash is running low. Items such as toiletries, clothes, lamps, radios, etc are what they like. I stopped bringing them cigarettes. Dollar store stuff they like...tonight's grand prize are two brand new pillows (which I'm sure they could all use).

Wilma-
I give you credit for going to curves. I've been 2x in the past 3 weeks. :nono: Now...I "did" enjoy the WATP tapes but I just don't make any time for anything these days.

HOWEVER...I did make time the past couple nights to make a couple bracelets. Whew!!! They turned out wonderful. :D

Sami-
I've been bringing in a deep sorta red into my living room with assessories. My room is too small to do dark walls. I'll bet it looks stunning.

Michelle-
How's the pain? When do you go again for another epidural? And when is next Alpha?

Bunna-
How was dinner :hungry:? Our anniversary is Aug 6 and I suggested to DH that we "both" plan for the occasion instead of just one of us. Maybe a dinner out to somewhere nice could be in store.

Gary-
Dogger Dogs...I must try one sometime. I've never been to CA. The farthest west I've been is Lake Tahoe, CA/NV. I LOVE Florida, and anything tropical.

SunnyD-
Hey Woman...Are you out there?

Everyone else...later! :balloons:

EZMONEY 07-27-2004 05:59 PM

Just checking in after work before I go do some things in the yard...help the boys with getting their painting started. SUNNY must be getting her roof done!! Looks like the rest of us are have a "hot dog" thread going..lol.....

MKAY--Southern California is not tropical...rare is our weather humid, just warm...we will have a few humid days a year but not many. We just got back from Virginia...although not bad the weeks we were there, it was quite humid for "US"...Angie and the kids said they would NEVER live there simply because of that...the weenies..lol...............later...oops! there we go again with the "hot dog" words...weenies.......................oh yea Mary, it is DODGER not dogger, after the baseball team....bye
