It has been a rainy, stormy last few hours here. Last night we had tornado warnings for a while with several twisters seen. No damage here, that I know of but real wet. We had up to marble sized hail but thank God it wasn't what they predicted which was softball size. Parts of Texas north of us did get softball size hail yesterday afternoon. Unbelievable!!!
With the storms and rain, our game last night was cancelled, so our next game is out of town on Monday. Then comes another on Tuesday. DD's playoff game has been set for Tuesday night about 2-2 1/2 hours away. Since we have our own game, I won't be able to go watch. It makes me mad that I can't go but at least this way the girls won't have to choose between Florida and the playoffs.
~Sunny~
Have a GREAT Saturday with your hubby. I hope you are able to get your long walk in before the rains come. May seems to be a busy month for everyone, I know I have lots of events especially with the kids during the month of May. Thanks for the hugs, boy that felt good!!!!!
~Gary~Angie~
Glad to hear from you and Angie. I know going to a chiro would put me in a better mood, or I should hope so. I say, Gary, you are taking "the affair thing" well. Just kidding!! How wonderful to get to see your daughter like that!!! Have fun! Yes, I love my coffee too. I did give it up for about a week once and my dh was begging me to go back on it. I was in withdrawal, having severe headaches, etc... but I have been drinking it since I was 8 and I'm . . . . . . . .over 40 now! And I too only allow myself 2 cups but drink it from these convenience store cups which are at least 16 oz. Thanks for the pep talk, I know I needed it. I do get frustrated and then get down at times. But I think the main problem is that I have pushed myself so long that now I can't hardly do anything physicial, including the softball. Does Rylee have school today? If so, hope everything goes well.
~Michele~
Another chiro lover! Glad to know you are feeling better!!! As far as a good supplement, my MD recommended a vitamin pack from Walmart. It's got 6 pills together in a plastic individual pack that you take everyday. It's got a multivitamin, Vit C, Vit E, and several others. It would run about $10/month. I like your idea of sharing Mom's advise, etc... I will have to think on that to come up with the best ones.
~EVERYONE ELSE~
Hope to hear from you soon.!!!! Hope EVERYONE has a GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!!!
Not BRAGGIN'..........Well....OK, I AM!! It is already a beautiful day here in southern California, just waiting for the fence guy to come and take his measurements for some new fences (grrr...another RYLEE expense...lol...hey! I'm not laughing). Then off to puppy school. Have a great day ladies...be back later, Gary
Finally, our server was down and I couldn't get on. It's a cloudy Saturday morning and my MIL and I are going to make cabbage borscht today. It's a very relaxing day.
I am trying to re-evaluate my eating and find out why I'm losing so slowly. I have my snacking under control but I think my dinner portions need some work. I am very thankful that I'm still going down and not up and my clothes are fitting looser all the time. But I'm very impatient and want it all gone NOW. Please pray for patience for me.
I would like to post to each of you personally but I better get going and get some work done. I'll be back!

Mark 9:23
Jesus said unto him, 'If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.'
All my friends said they didn't think I could do it. They had watched me stuff myself so many times; they didn't think I had any self-control at all. I showed them. I knew in my heart I could make it. Sure, it was tough, but I'm no quitter. When the going got the toughest, it just made me more determined to lose the weight. The key is to believe in yourself. God believes in us, even though we don't always deserve His trust. If God can believe in us, then who are we to do otherwise? Pray for God's assurance, and you will find more than enough faith to make it through.
Today's thought: God believes in me!
Have been rather busy wit kids and all - and getting over this darn cold and flu.
Hopefully I have read all the posts - but I know I must have missed the one on doing the graphics - so will have to go back and look for that one.
Have started (April 7) a new gym for ladies only. I am really pleased with it - the machines are similar to Curves but I seem to be getting a better workout on these ones. Also the people that own this gym are walking around spotting all the ladies and always giving helpful advice - they are not in your face so to speak but are there to make sure you are using them correctly and to give you other options on all the machines. Anyway after 14 days doing these workouts - did 8 workouts in 14 days - I had them re weigh and measure - and low and behold I had lost 2 pounds and 3 inches. Feeling really good about that - and the major change really was the exercise level. So the past 2 weeks I have worked a little more on the food but also kept up the exercise level - weigh and measure time is Wednesday but will have it done between Tuesday and Thursday depending on which of those days I get to go work out. Not sure if any more weight has been lost but I am sure there has been more inches - if hubby read it right it could be up to 2 more inches just off the tummy - hoping he read it right.
Had my visit with the eye surgeon - need to have cataracts on right eye removed as soon as possible - and the left eye is going. As my mom has an eye disease that leads to blindness he checked me for this - it is one of those things that can be passed on. Says I don't show any signs of it at this time but that I need to go onto a program of eye care re vitamins that doesn't cure the disease but is known to slow it down. Told me to make sure all my siblings have their eyes examined because it can be passed down from mom to any of us. But it seems to be that I am the offspring that is getting all the 'bad' things passed down. Oh well.
Well, that is about all that is happening here - another 4 weeks and go back for another cancer checkup - time goes by so quickly as it seems like I was just there!
Wow, I wish i had remembered my camera this a.m. at work. The little town i work in turned into Sturgis today! We are very small, maybe 3 city blocks, without even a stoplight. And they were having a motorcycle run to raise money for Diabetes I think. There were/are soooo many motorcycles in town, it's unreal. They start here, they just are leaving now for a nice run along the river and then they loop around and end up back in town. It'll be hopping in town here tonight i'm sure. Really cool to see all of them, plus some old vintage cars and there was even an old Chevy they converted into a limo. Quite a site.
Well, I broke down and called Charlie last night, he called me back and guess where he is? Malaysia!! He's been there for 3 days, going to be there for a couple weeks still. So I asked what happened and he says he's just been busy. He said he called but i don't have my message anymore so he couldn't leave a message. He acted surprised, like, well you don't think I DON'T WANT to see you, do you? I explained to him that there was no reason and he couldn't convince me that he didn't have 2 minutes to call me. I told him i thought i had been very understanding, even accomodating, but if he cared or wanted to know how i was, he could have gotten ahold of me. He was a tad defensive but also said I was right. He said he'd call me when he got home, i just say, ya, whatever.... Even if he did call, i don't think i like how he's treated me. He's a great guy otherwise, but i can't handle the other stuff.
I went to the chiro, and again, I LOVE that man. I now can walk without limping and he got rid of the cramp in my calf (that hurt a lot while he kneaded it out of there). He also saw the book i've been reading and was happy i was reading it, i asked where to begin so he started me on two supplements(one an anti-oxidant and the other is grape seed extract) and with a multi vitamin/mineral i'm doing good. He also said i'm deficient in magnesium which has caused the muscle pain. So i got that at Target last night. I'm gonna be so healthy soon i won't know what to do with myself . And I'm going for a walk after work on a trail by work. He suggested lots of walking. Then i'm going to the spring to get a water jug filled. I finally found where this spring is, my family has been getting their drinking water from there for over 30 years.
Gary~I'm glad you are having such great weather. I miss it, but it's really beautiful here right now. (Except the temps may drop low enough that we'll get some snow tonight! Unreal, huh?)
Sherry~See, God knew you needed to rest, so he made your game rain out! He always takes care of us!
It's a gloomy day in central Texas even though it hasn't rained today. Yesterday the high was 86 with light winds and today it is just now up to 55 degrees and the wind is really blowing. Not the weather I like the weekends to have. *sigh*
~Michele~
Sorry you lost a post. It has happened a lot lately to me, but now I am typing it all on wordpad and then transferring it to reply area. Yes, I have to admit I was kinda glad the game got rained out but it might get scheduled at a worse time. Glad to hear you figured out the vitamins, etc.. that should have you back on your feet energy wise soon. Wow, all the bikes sound interesting. You need to have a sock hop tonight. Our town does that the third weekend of June every year and there's lots of bikes and vintage cars and quite a few people dressed from the 50's, 60's era. It's great. That night the Sonic is really booming!!! Sorry Charlie, is being that way. At least you realize how he can be now, before anything serious developed. Hang in there!!!
~Wilma~
I understand the impatience thing, but do you really want us to pray for you patience??? It's always a learning experience when you do that. You are doing well, you are losing, but in HIS time, not yours! I totally understand that. Hang in there, YOU ARE DOING WELL!!!!
~doitforme ~ Sue~
Wow! The Christmas presents you won sound fabulous!!! How do you know they are genuine? I have found some beautiful things on Ebay, for great prices but always worry about them not being what they say they are. Have a good one!!! Don't work too hard!!!
~Sprout~
Congratulations on the TWO lbs and THREE inches!!!!! Plus maybe more!!
Will be waiting to hear later this week.
Thanks for the devotional as always. Glad you don't have the signs of the eye disease, sorry about the catarats, but that isn't too awfully bad procedure.
~Gary~
That Rylee is a costly thing isn't she??? But the fence will be great to have. Are you doing the wood or the wire? A tall privacy fence would be GREAT!! Bragging again, huh?
Well it is starting to cool down a little tonight. I did all that braggin' this morning when it was cool and beautiful, then it got FREAKIN HOT
Well we got to the puppy school a little late because the fence estimator was late--so RYLEE wasn't able to "play"-- this caused a little bit of a problem but she wasn't the "BAD DOG" of the day. She actually got a few "class watch RYLEE do it" remarks from the teachers. We traded dogs for social handling too, the 2 couples that had her said "OH, she is so sweet!" We got an aussie that behaved well for us then a lhasa apso named SMOOCHES that was NOT A NICE PUPPY!! but oh so cute.
Sherry asked about our fence-- we had 2 sides replaced last year, the house behind me sits facing another street so 1 side of that guys fence goes across mine and my next door neighbors back yard--the past owner was in the process of moving and didn't want to pay for half--so we waited to see if the new guy would--he is. The fence along the back is 100+ feet for me and about 75 for my next door neighbor. Plus Angie and I are having a chain link put in to section Rylee off of all of the yard while we are at work--when she is ready to go out all day--and then another section of our yard we are having a picket fence put in,(for a seperation for Angie's roses and my scaffolding and ladders etc for work) plus the area around our trash another gate to keep the (another RYLEE expense dog) out of the trash cans.
MICHELE Sounds like fun in your town tonight! My dad had a Harley all his life almost, he and my mom did the Sturgis run often. So you called Charlie huh?...hummm....GREAT JOB walking on the trail and getting interested in eating better...I AM SOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!!!
SUE Hey you might need to get some rain from our Texas friends to cool down 11 and a half hours of overtime in one day? NO YOU ARE NOT OVERDOING IT!!( I am being a smart ... here) YOU BE CAREFUL!!!! Great news on E-BAY again dear!!
SPROUT Great news with the new exercise program! Good luck with the eyes and cancer check-up. I wish I could help you understand the "WHY ME? LORD" you certainly seem to be getting "picked on". But you know as well as I that HE is there for us through all the pain and struggles. We can't earn our way to heaven, but there are many mansions---I am beginning to think yours is going to be in the "ELITE" district.
WILMA So proud of you for re-evaluating your food. Dinner has always been your concern hasn't it? Do you have a big glass of water and a salad first?
SUNNYD Hope you and Joe made it through your walk--dry! Enjoy your quiet week-end.
SHERRY Good news(?) since the choice got made for the girls by the weather. Sorry you have to miss one of the kids games--I know how hard that is when they play at the same time in different places--God has always worked it out in my and my kids best interests--when I look back--man He is AWESOME!! 16 oz cup? NOTHIN' compared to my 20 oz.ers
SAMI Hope this finds you in good health and a nice boss!!
Well dinner is ready--my son is taking me to Los Angeles for the Dodger game tomorrow (the 50th birthday present he got me in FEB.) so I will catch up Monday.
Wow, it's a beautiful day here in Texas!! The beautiful sun is carassing all the rain drenched areas and the cool air is reaching for the wonderful warmth of the sun. The birds are singing their song and the roosters are crowing and spreading the word that it's a GREAT day to be alive!!!!
Hope this finds everyone doing well this morning. I am doing my usual . . . . . sipping and waking up. I have to work today and take my paperwork out of town (60 miles) to the office. The oldest dd will go with me so she can get a few last things before the trip on Wednesday. Wow, is it already here? Please say a prayer for her. The buses will be leaving that night and traveling all night to get to the sunny banks of Florida the next morning. It's a little over 1000 miles and they are driving straight through. It really makes me nervous to have them on the road like that and we don't know these drivers at all. *sigh* I have to put it in God's hands but that is very hard not to worry at all.
I got my work schedule yesterday for work and it's totally messed up. The lady that normally makes our schedule was off and another nurse made it. Well, I am suppose to only work M-W-F and every other weekend and she has me working every weekday this week. Plus, I see the same patients all the time and so does the other nurse, well she has us both seeing everyone. And I'm not allowed to see the smokers due to my severe allergies to it and asthma and she has me scheduled to see them. I was supposed to not have any pm visits Monday since I have an out of town game, but I do. They do not like us to change our schedule at all after it comes out. And I know this nurse and she's gonna get fighting mad and offensive when I mention the schedule, and then the ball will roll downhill from there. I have a Dr's appt Tuesday morning and she has me working. UGH!!!! Why couldn't she have looked at the request off calendar!!!!! My dh is very upset and told me that I will not see the smokers and if they don't like it, they can just fire me. Prayers please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~GARY~
Well, it wasn't hot here yesterday but is to warm back up in the 70's today. I do wish I could go to the playoff game but I will be ok here and busy. Since we have a game ourselves I will be doing that during that time and won't be dreaming of being there with the playoff game. There will be more, I'm sure, dd is only a sophmore. Well, better hit the shower and get to work. Yuck!!! Now, if I could just quit complaining and get the cobwebs out of my head this morning.
Hello I hope everyone is doing Well! This has been a tough week at work with the loss of our team member. I had to miss wensday because the hospital would not release me until I promissed not to go to work. I did sit down and have a long talk with my boss. She was very worried about me and thought I wanted to change jobs. In fairness I have not told many at work about my health problems and a lot of times when I am dying in pain they think I am mad about something because of the look on my face. So I talked about it a little with my boss (she also has the IBS) After my next Dr. visit and I find out for sure if I have Lupus I will get some info for her so she can understand better. She is also going to help with my work load (I do 3 peoples work load) That will take a lot of stress of my shoulders.
I am still trying to work out and eat right. But I have to admit even though I can see a diffrence in weight and enegry It still hurts a lot when I work out! My poor body just doesn't want me to work out!!!!!!!! I am still going at it though The engery level has been great!
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Ed didn't really know what made him decide to try to take weight off, but now he was glad. His doctor had discovered an irregular heartbeat, and he told Ed to be thankful that he didn't have to carry around so much weight anymore, or his poor heart just wouldn't be able to bear the load. Ed secretly thanked the Lord for helping him out. No matter what had motivated Ed to lose, by doing so he had saved his own life. It was ironic, but Ed had always known that God makes all things work out for the best. After this, no one could ever convince him differently!
Today's thought: My diet may be the best idea God's had all day!
Thank you Angie and Michele for your views on chiros. I did not have a good visit. He is a nice christan doctor but I felt worse when I left his office. I still have pain in my upper arms and now I have pain in the middle of my back that wasn't there before. He kept asking me if I heard or felt a pop. I didn't. How can a doctor check the alinement of your back with all your clothes on? He did not apply heat or do massage. Should I get my upper arms x-rayed? Should I call monday or go to my next visit on friday? How do you know if they are good or bad doctors.
Sue~ you asked me how I hit my head. I was getting our dog in from out side and tripped. My head hit the brick wall and I went down onto our cement slab patio. I jamed all my 238lbs down on my upper arms. After three weeks they stilll hurt.
I have about 45min. before I take the kids to school.
Sherry~We have had rain here off and on this week. We really need the rain. Last year we had a hail storm it did alot of damage. You might want to call your insurance agent and have your roof checked. All of the roofs in our area had to be replaced.Cars were damaged and some windshields. This past winter we had an ice storm. We are still getting rid of yard waste. The pine trees are not very strong and the ice frooze on the needles. It was to much weight for alot of the trees and they started to split. Live wires had fallen all over the place. I had to pick my kids up along with some friend's children from school. It was scary. None of the traffic lights worked and I was dodging falling pine trees. God took care of us that day.
Marilyn~ I'll pray your eye surgery goes well and your cancer check up is good. I'm glad your loosing inches
