Rosebud- Prayers for your uncle for healing!!! I am not looking forward to snow, so can sympathize it will arive soon we have had flurries, no accumulation.
Counting down- Shymoment- thanks for prayers
E.Z.- wow! guy you are busy, no wonder your loosing so fast running around.
Wilma- enjoy your day relaxing that is always fun
Bargo- luv potluck dinners, can often get great recipes. You are doing awesome @ pounds to goal, great job!!
I AM DOING GREAT! However there are lots of issues with the facility they placed Jim in, it is not what they said it would be a state of the art head trauma rehab center instead it is basically a nursing home w/ a rehab componant. It looks like he will be coming back to N.Y. state, they are continueing to get hima rehab placement as he was placed in the nursing home part of the facility. Family really getting discouraged as currently not really recieving rehab and going backwards instead of forward would continue to appreciate those that keep this in prayer, and that jeans MRIs of her head show that her brain tumors are not growing... Blessings!
I am taking a few minutes to check in before we head off to church. I will try and catch up with each of you later today if I get time.We are moving my ex-sister in law's stuff into a storage garage for a few weeks, until we move her into a condo.
I have been busy at work, getting a lot of calories burned off! This is a good thing because it has cut into my walking quite a bit. I am still getting walks in, just not as much. My weight is holding pretty steady, in fact was even down to 170.6 this morning...that beer I drank, during the USC game yesterday, will kick in tomorrow on the scale
Angie and I have been busy the last few days at church. We are in the beginning stages of fundraising and building a new building. The project from start to finish will be three years. We hope to start groundbreaking next spring and have the building up in a year. Angie and I head up one of the leadership teams, the majority of our work will be at the beginning of the project.
The building will cost up to 6 million dollars. We have a new sanctuary...only 25 years old but we will be tearing done our old one, which serves as our meeting hall, and other old classrooms. We will be putting up a new gym, classrooms, meeting rooms, kitchen and other facilities. The building will be used by our church members and the community as well.
I am asking for prayers for not only Angie and I, but our church as we "focus" on what is true and right during the process. It has a way of stretching you, as you know, if you have ever been involved in church building projects.
I have added all your prayer requests and I will be back!
Prayers continuing. Thanks for the update Sue! Hang in there. God has a plan, and things will work out ok for Jim.
EZ - I posted on your other thread too - I put your building project on my "long term" prayer list. I know how building projects in churches go. What an exciting time for you and Angie
bargoo - hope the potluck went well and that you stayed relatively OP. Our church Thanksgiving dinner is next Sunday night. Always a challenge!!!!
HELLO EVERYONE ~ we've had a few stressful days here; but things are on the mend, as we speak. Some pipes connected to the furnace in our complex broke last week, so we had no heat. I was getting too chilled (had a cold), so we went to town on Sat and bought a small heater, and it works pretty good, heating the whole place. Repairs will start on Monday.
Thanx everyone for prayers for my Uncle and his family; they are in better spirits now, and they left today to go to the specialist for a consult tomorrow. His doctor now says that xrays/scans show the "mass" is still there; but I still think more indepth investigation is needed.
SHY ~ yes, I said why didn't they just call it a 'shadow' until they know for certain what it is? The scariest part is not knowing, I think. Thanx for your prayers.
SUE ~ will pray that JIM comes back home where he can be close to family and friends that can help him; and that JEAN's brain tumors will shrivel up and disappear; let's pray big ... we have a big GOD! Thanks for your prayers too!
EZ ~ you are m e l t i n g ... a w a y! Don't disappear on us, now! We just went thru that here: we built a new arena complex, which was badly needed. Our old arena was shoddy and a money pit; but some thought our new one was too extravagant and costly. The majority wanted it, but there were some ill feelings during the process. We needed such a place for the community to socialize, play, and get healthier together. Prayers that your church project goes well for you all.
HI WILMA ~ sounds like you have lots of fun out there.
COUNTING ~ hope you get a new TV soon; we kept an old one, and just pulled it out of storage for my videos. Prayers the political stuff at your church is resolved amiably and soon.
BARGOO ~ you are almost at goal! So, start with the good stuff: lean meats & veggies/salads. One friend told me that at potlucks that she just takes 1 or 2 tbl of the 'other' stuff, so she doesn't eat too much overall ... good idea!
I went ski-walking on Saturday, but only went for a small walk outside today becuz with all the wet snow and drizzle. Well, I'd better get off to bed; it's getting late. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS! Take good care, your fellow encourager.~ ROSEBUD ^Prayers^ for you and yours continue ...
Thanks!so much for all the prayers, big answer they are moving Jim back to N.Y. this am. He is going to a small rehab/nursing home within 15 mins of his family, there was no bed available, but unfortunately for the gentleman that passed, a bed opened end of last week. He will recieve rehab, and most important be within very short distance of family. Appreciate all the prayers!!!
E.Z.- Prayers the church building goes well, know what that is like as we are remodeling the sanctuary, it really is looking nice, hard to get people to agree on colors ect. But it is beautiful.
Counting down- Thanks!!!
Rosebud- Thanks! Prayers that pipes are fixed and heat is back to normal...
Bargo great job at the potluck..
I am doing good- really enjoy the elliptical machine, it makes my workout time shorter, then all the walking, works better for my schedule.. Prayers for all
WOW, SUE ~ that's great news for JIM and his family; indeed, let's thank our big GOD for those big answers!!! Thanx ~ the pipes are fixed now, and we all have heat again; yeah!
BARGOO ~ oh, you did well; one piece of cherry pie won't ruin your whole month.
SHY ~ I agree with your sentiments; we are now just waiting to see what the specialist says.
Just checkin' in. Been taking it easy this week; just doing housework and meals; plus some shorter walks (try to do a few a day). The sun really tried hard to reach us today; it's better than rain and clouds; we actually have grass outside right now.
Staying on plan well; I'm very happy about that. Take care; your fellow encourager ROSEBUD^Prayers^ are going up for you and yours ...

ROSEBUD - Glad you have heat! Way to go staying on plan through it. Sometimes my eating gets thrown off when those unexpected things happen!
Sue - What a blessing to have Jim close to family again! Sad circumstances that helped it along, but still - an answer to prayer for sure! I've never tried an elliptical - so many people rave about them, but I hated my treadmill, and even my Gazelle I can only do every so often. Videos where someone tells me what to do and I have to concentrate really hard on the routine seem to be my best bet. I applaud you for sticking with it!!!
bargoo - I'm sure you will have any after-effects from the cherry pie gone in no time! I bought most of the ingredients for Thanksgiving this week. I'm trying to do a really healthy and light menu. I hope our guests aren't too surprised (all of them could benefit from a lighter menu).
I'm doing fine here - it has been busy. Church finance meeting went very long last night, and I had to chair the administrative board meeting tonight. It went well, but long. I will be happy to stay home and get caught up on things tomorrow night!
I'm looking forward to Thursday. I am one of only a 5 people in the school district working (it is Deer Day - a major holiday in northern Michigan). I am hoping to get caught up and even get a little ahead on some projects.
I hope everyone is doing well. Prayers continuing for all of you.
I weighed in yesterday but didn't have time to log on here. My weight is still the same. I did start exercising yesterday. I plan to do a different type of exercise each day so as not to get bored. I was on my bike last night. I have a few WATP dvds that offer a variety of exercises so hopefully I can keep up with it. My eating has really improved. I am not eating in the evenings again. What a hard habit to break after getting back into the routine of having to have a snack in the evening. Now I have a glass of water or make some herbal tea. It seems to satisfy me. I also am eating more veggies again which can only be good for me.
Sue: I am so glad that things are improving for Jim. Praise God!
It's off to work for me now. I have a staff meeting before work and work until 6:00 tonight. It'll be a long day.
HELLO EVERYONE ~ just checkin' in too; we got some ***snow*** today and the temps are at -5C presently. Well, the furnace repairmen were here again today; seems it needed some fine tuning again. Had to bury ourselves in comforters last night to keep warm, and put on my 'TURBO HEATER' again today. They got things fixed up by dinnertime; I hope that's the last of the problems cuz the really cold temps will be here soon enuff ~ LOL!
UPDATE ON MY UNCLE ~ the specialist is a bit puzzled about the xrays ~ pics/scans; he says my uncles' lungs look like a feather pillow burst all over them, with some tiny nodules spattered here and there. He says he doesn't know what it is; so they are going to a do a biopsy next week. That almost sounds like scarring to me and he has one small spot, which could very well be that too. They are in better spirits now, cuz the big "C" word never came up in the conversation at all; and I think that's great! We will be continuing to pray that similar positive news will be forthcoming in a couple of weeks. So, thanx for all your prayers ...
FINALLY got my VCR hooked up and tried one of my exercise videos; started with RICHARD SIMMON'S SILVER FOXES. Liked it a lot; I was a bit sore last night, but I really enjoyed it: that man has a wonder, positive attitude that keeps you motivated, even if you are tired! Will be trying out some others over the next while too; I think I have found what I have been looking for; cuz I like them much more than the machines too. I have been keepin' OP; the fine-tuning is working out pretty good: not feeling deprived and that's very important.
Dh and I did some fall cleaning for part of the day; now that the colder weather is here, we have time to do all those inside chores that got put off for the summer. Tomorrow is our weekly shopping trip into town and we also try to have a bit of fun as well.
TAKE GOOD CARE, everyone; your fellow encourager ~ ROSEBUD ^PRAYERS^ continue for you and yours ...

Checking in tonight
Rosebud - we got snow here today too! Glad to hear about your uncle! I will continue to keep him in my prayers!
Wilma - Like Dawn, I like to mix up my exercise too. I like adding the WATP dvds. They really seem to work. Sounds like you are totally back OP, and you should see some positive results soon!
Dawn - I love that line! Thanks for the reminder. Most of my extra busyness is volunteer stuff (over committed at church these days) and I have trouble with "balance". I'm working on it though!
We didn't have school (I was the only person in the district working all day because it was opening day of deer hunting season - which is a "holiday" here) so I got a TON done. And I got in my yoga this morning and a "Dance Off the Inches" dvd this evening. I'm down a lb. this week so far. "Official" weigh in is tomorrow. Here's hopin' ...
Taking a few minutes to catch up a bit. I have been reading and praying daily, I am just really busy right now.
Things are well with me. Not much new, just work and church taking time this week from my posting. When I have full days at work and 3+ hours of commute, it takes a toll on my 3FC posting!
COUNTING-DOWN ~ Thank you for all the prayers! Angie loves her yoga, she is looking forward to learning how to and teaching it in the new gym! Good luck on weigh in!
ROSEBUD ~ Glad that your uncle's news is good so far. Super job on staying on plan. I am so glad it doesn't get that cold here. We have had beautiful days. I am working out near the desert...high 50's first thing in the morning and high 80's in the afternoon.
WILMA ~I weighed in at 172 on Wed. Holding steady! Eat the veggies....ride the bike!
RENNIE ~ Thanks for keeping us afloat here! I hope your sinuses are better and you got that walk in and cleaning done.
AUNT SUE ~Good news for Jim! No problem agreeing on anything in our church...our Pastor has the power!
BARGOO ~ Way to "pace" yourself at the pot-luck!
KAREN ~ Thanks so much for all your prayers and e-mails...it means a lot to me. How are things going on the house sale?
Well gals I will catch up this week-end! My prayers are always with you!
Hi Everyone! Sorry that I haven't been here very much. I've been reading all the posts and think of you all often. I have decided to start packing up some of the things that we aren't using at all and can do without. I have my Mom's china and if I pack it now I can take my time and make sure it all gets packed good so nothing will break. Hopefully! We still haven't had any offers on either the house or the 5th wheel but I'm trying to stay on the positive side! There was a man who stopped last week to look at the 5th wheel and said that he had put his house up for sale and it sold in 20 days! And he lived just down the road from us about 3 miles. Don't know what it was but at least it shows that something is moving.
Gary, I've been taking Ginger and Sissy everyday to walk to the mailbox. Roundtrip is 3/4 of a mile. Don't know how many days next week I'll be able to do that since our high temp. by Thursday is supposed to be 13 degrees!! But they really like the walk. Plus I'm trying really hard to get on the treadmill or do a WATP's video everyday. I'm hoping to be down to 150 by the end of this month and 145 by Christmas. Didn't want to put to big a goal that I would be disappointed if I didn't make it but hope I can pass it anyway!
I hope all of you have a really great Thanksgiving Prayers out for everyone.
