That's great that a few of you are walking for breast cancer, I plan to do so in October as well.
ArtsyGirl... Yup, I sure am feeling *SO* good about reaching goal. It took a year and a half... up and down... but I perservered. As we do. I'm beginning to think that maintaining is the hard part though. I guess we'll see. I'm definitely up to helping each other out with that though. Good work getting 13mins worth of running in! That's 13mins more than I could do!
idest... Welcome! And good luck in your training!
Michelle... Congrats on the 10mi thus far! Keep up the great work!
Genesis... Sorry to hear you were under the weather! Good work getting right back to your walking!
As for me, I managed to get another 4mi in today so I'm up to 15 and will be racking up at least another 4 tomorrow.
Anyways girls, I gotta run. Take care and best wishes.
Can I join in as well? I've walked 12 miles so far in June and hope to hit 80 miles this month. I've gone over that the past couple of months, so hopefully I can work it in again this month. I do WATP a lot, but also do walking outside so I can mix it up a bit or get in more than one exercise session a day if I'm lucky
DH & I walked up a huge, steep hill (2.3 miles round trip) last night- I swear it doesn't seem all that long when you drive it. I think I've fixed the blister problem with another insert & some moleskin for my heels. We'll see. So far so good!
So far this month I've walked 6.1 miles & I've 37.9 to go.
Walked 3.37 miles at the walking path at the hospital again while oldest DS was at football camp. Brings the month's total to 15.37 miles, 67.63 miles to goal. I had hoped to get in 3.5 miles, but an older woman started walking the path and when I caught up to her she was nice enough to chat a bit and I hated to just be rude and leave her in the dust. LOL She began telling me that she was having a hard time getting back into walking so I just kind of stayed at her pace and talked with her a while about exercising and such. It was a nice chat and I felt like it helped her a bit So, not quite as far as I wanted to go, but I did a good deed for the day
I did 4 yesterday and another 4 this morning. (This mornings included a 13 min. run) I have a cold bordering on a sinus infection and almost turned around at the first mile, but am SO glad I stuck it out because I feel terrific now. I passed my 25 mile mark!!! This week of walking has been nice and the weather has been terrific. I'm scheduled for an off day tomorrow, but may go out anyways because it really is helping to break up the congestion every morning.
ArtsyGirl - I, too, am recovering froma cold and have a border line sinus infection. The walks DO make a difference! This is probably an over-share, but yesterday in the shower after my walk I *ahem* cleared a lot of gunk out!
I got in 4.5 miles yesterday, and hope to do another 4 to 5 miles later today. Or, maybe I'll cross train later on, I'm not sure yet. I'd better step it up, though. I'm at a measly 8.5 miles for the month of June.
Good luck everybody!
June goal - 77 miles
Walked so far - 8.5
Miles to go - 68.5
Got in a 3.06 mile walk around the pond at the hospital near oldest DSs football camp again today. I have a major blister on my foot Wanted to walk longer but guess I can't complain. 18.43 miles done.
Everyone is doing so well working toward their goal! Keep it up. I think I'm going to go out for a walk later this evening while hubby is golfing. My ankle is a little sore from last nights softball game so it depends how that feels. (I need to baby it so I can do my long run in the morning!)
