June accountability

:carrot: Last night DH & I walked 2.3 miles. Up a long steep hill near our house. Golly, my hamstrings hurt! Anyhow, I pledged 44 miles for June & my total so far is 6.1~ :dizzy:

Rebeca 06-06-2006 01:54 PM

Good Job Genre!

I wish my husband would get out of his lazy @$$ and do something like that sometime!

His idea of fitness is having a subscribtion to Man's Health!

sotypical 06-06-2006 02:02 PM

I did 65 min on my bike this morning - was going for 80 but I got a really bad tummy ache and couldnt take it anymore. :(

GenreGirl 06-06-2006 02:11 PM

LOL, Rebeca! My husband loved Men's Fitness magazine too. Until he realized I enjoyed the photos. HAHAHA. At least he gets off the couch once in awhile now. Long walks in the dark are romantic, even if you are sweaty & tired. :)

softballmom 06-07-2006 08:12 AM

Walked/Jogged for 40 minutes (11 min total jog). I am increasing my endurance in the jogging portion, so I will keep adding minutes and then will one day increase my speed. We've had a cool down of temps this week and that has really helped, I believe.

It is never to late to join Donna. Welcome!

I had a blow out day yesterday but if I slot things in properly, I should be able to jog some before work at 3 and maybe some chest and triceps today.

GenreGirl 06-07-2006 11:33 AM

Walked 2.5 miles yesterday. Total so far- 8.6
Miles pledged for June- 44
Miles to go- 35.4

80 min on bike this morning :)

alwaysbelieve 06-07-2006 04:40 PM

Welcome Donna

I walked 4 miles today. Walking was all I had energy to do today after Taebo yesterday.

dgpebbles 06-07-2006 07:27 PM

Thanks for the welcomes

Today I did 25 min on elliptical and 1 hour of weights with my trainer...I'm going to try to get in bike or a jog tonight also

always--wow 4 miles is great and so is taebo...billy can really kick your butt..

Courtnie-80 mins on bike is great...my tush would be so numb I wouldn't be able to walk

harrypotterybarn 06-07-2006 09:00 PM

Hour of spinning and an hour of BodyPUMP down! :)

softballmom 06-08-2006 07:56 AM

Last night, another 40 minutes of walk/jog. I am starting the Couch to 5k program off of CoolRunning.com. I need to get a stopwatch as I tried to count out the "seconds" but realized from my cellphone clock that I was off. So I did the program for about 30 minutes, then walked a mile for the remaining 10. The program only calls for three days/week, so I will probably just walk tonight depending on how I feel.

Rebeca 06-08-2006 09:40 AM

Last night we went out dancing... we were there from 11 until 2!
I am not going to count that as exercise, just because, and it was too much fun!

mandalinn82 06-08-2006 11:35 AM

This morning - stability ball, crunches, and about 45 min of cardio - and one was cardio/strength training, so I get to count as a leg workout for today. Yay!

Will try to get in arms if I can later in day.

sotypical 06-08-2006 12:22 PM

Got 80 min again this morning.

alwaysbelieve 06-08-2006 03:39 PM

Donna Billy does kick my butt. LOL

Today was 3 mile jog/walk.

mandalinn82 06-08-2006 04:45 PM

Got my arm workout in - a good strong one too.

srmb60 06-08-2006 06:23 PM

I jogged, did chest and triceps and I biked.

harrypotterybarn 06-08-2006 08:05 PM

Oh man I'm gonna die! Just had an hour spinning with Will who basically works you 'til you bleed and beg for mercy then give you the quickest of cool-downs. My legs are burning! :)

GenreGirl 06-08-2006 10:01 PM

Hi all! We walked 2 miles last night, total so far is 10.6 for June only 33.4 to go. DH has twinged a nerve in his back, though so I'm on my own for a few days I think.

mandalinn82 06-09-2006 12:04 PM

This morning - my stability ball, and to mix things up, a Bahngra Masala aerobics routine. I LOVE IT (and my word, does it work the shoulders - your arms are up, moving your shoulders, at least half of the workout), plus my 100 crunches.

srmb60 06-09-2006 12:11 PM

When I first got my heart rate monitor, I was surprised by how little my rate increased while doing aerobics ... until ... I started moving my arms. That really improves things!

alwaysbelieve 06-09-2006 12:53 PM

Today was pilates and some work on my thighs and butt.

Rebeca 06-09-2006 01:50 PM

Everyone seems to be doing really good this week. Just got back from doing 30 minutes of the Couch to 5K program (walk/jog), and then finished it off with a 1/2 mile cool down walk - giving me a total 40 minutes. The temps are much better in the evening than right after work (4p). It seemed easier to keep on going.
Have a great weekend!

harrypotterybarn 06-10-2006 01:56 AM

Another night of the spinning/BodyPUMP 2 hour combo. Man it makes me feel good! Why on earth didn't I try exercise like this before?!? :)

srmb60 06-10-2006 08:12 AM

I didn't get my bike ride in last night. I got called to work for a few hours. But I did my little jog in the morning and weights for legs.

GenreGirl 06-10-2006 06:02 PM

I did walk/jog intervals Friday morning, total of 3.25 miles. Boy, was I ever glad to hobble back to my car! Still, it was nice to be outside in the woods. There's a national park near my house which has a 10 mile paved loop with a lane just for pedestrians & cyclists. Very hilly. I bought a parking pass so I've no excuses to avoid the place from now on.

Total so far for June- 13.8 miles. Pledged 44; 30.2 miles to go.

dustcatcher 06-10-2006 09:26 PM

About to head to gym for 50 min cardio and arms, followed by an hour swim.

mandalinn82 06-11-2006 12:09 AM

OK, didn't do the swim. There was this HUGE party in the apartment common area (lets just say that during my entire workout, there were at least 2-3 children under age 5 watching me. Everyone repeat after me....FUN). I didn't feel confident enough to follow up the hour and a half of cardio and arms with another hour of being stared at, and this time in a SWIMSUIT.

Ah well. I still got 90 min in.

GreenLace 06-11-2006 12:47 AM

30 minutes exercise bike every day
2 lb handweights- start at 5 minutes and increase 1 minute of work every week
start at 10 crunches and increase by 10 every week
tone arms, thighs, stomach, love handles

srmb60 06-11-2006 09:33 AM

I switched up a little yesterday and went for a walk, did a few minutes on my antique rowing machine and back and biceps.
