Welcome Colleen, I just recently joined the walking here myself.
Annie good luck with your interview.
I didn't feel like walking today but forced myself out the door tonight. The I don't want to exercise feeling comes after a day of not the best food choices . I had to do something to turn this day around so made myself walk at least a bit tonight. Tomorrow will be better.
Busy day yesterday. I tried out my new stability ball and You Can Do Abs workout after I did my 2 mile Abs workout. It was challenging, but kind of fun. I think I will enjoy using it a few times a week.
Tonight is going to be a bugger. I have to pick my son up right at 4 because my sitter has a Bible study class at 5. Then I have to turn around and drop him off at soccer at 4:30, so I can be at a 4:40 dentist appointment. THEN, it's back to soccer to pick him up at 6, followed by a quick supper (hubby's in charge). Finally, I have a 7:00 meeting to organize for a trip to Spain with my students next summer. I will collapse when I get home! Fortunately, I already did a mile so I can keep my streak going and not feel guilty at 8 or 9 tonight!
Have a great day, everyone! Welcome to the new walkers!

I'm so proud of myself that I walked to work today. It's a lot earlier than I like to wake up, but it's nice to have my exercising out of the way for the day.
Days that the steps or miles were logged: 4/17
Miles for that time: 4.18 miles!!
Total number of steps/miles, to date in the challenge: 48.27 miles
11,525 steps, 3103 of which were aerobic. And you know what? I think I could do it again today if I had to. I feel very very good today. I ate a bunch of sodium-laden food yesterday, so I've retained around 3 pounds of water weight hahaha. Ah well, c'est la vie.
More than 4 miles, Lydia! You must be in a hurry to get to Seattle!
I jogged on the mill today.. yes jogged.. I could hardly believe that I could sustain jogging at 4.8 mph with only a couple of brisk 3.3 mph walks. Of course I kept the incline at a mere 1%. I wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes at my usual incline. hehe
It felt good for a change. Granted it didn't burn the usual calories.. and the workout was short.. but I'll call today my "off" day.
I'm back and I've missed chatting with all of you!
Hi everyone-
I got back late Wednesday and popped in quickly on Thursday, but then was away unexpectedly for the Easter weekend. So now I will try my best to catch up quickly. Where are we? I'll have to look, thank goodness Misti is on top of things.
BTW- Misti, love the Omron, and finally figured out the clip if you haven't yet.
Hey everyone - I am new! Just started today! I just want to say quickly that I usually walk on a treadmill but some days I walk outside. I normally walk at least 3mph mean that it would take about 20 min to walk 1 mile (I don't have a step county thingy). So today I walked 45 min outsite witch would mean 2.25 miles. But I am going to round down to 2mile (does that sound okay to everyone?) - I also walked on my treadmill:
We had a great meeting last night to organize for our Spain trip! 19 kids were present and/or represented by at least 1 parent! We know of 2 who couldn't be there, so 21 with strong interest. We are hoping for at least 12 who actually apply (the teachers get free trips if that happens). With all the additional responsibilities of a teacher on these trips, I think it's only fair! If we get more, we may have to find a third teacher to travel with us--what a problem to have!
Walking was great--I was so busy with the final details that I topped 10000 easily! Food was pretty good, though hubby made a very cheesy casserole for supper. I'm just glad he made supper (lol)!
Hoping for another big day--I have a zillion papers to grade and phone calls to make. Everything pretty much got put on the back burner while we prepared for this meeting!
