Thursday night I got in 5 miles - it was not a good run - I started cramping on my side pretty bad but eventually got in 5 miles in a little over 50 min.
Ran a 4-mile run yesterday in 35 min. - felt pretty good - had a much better run.
Helen - way to go on the 100-lb loss!!! That's awesome!
I did 6.6 miles yesterday in 60 minutes at a nice steady pace around the park. It was a great day for running! Today isn't quite so nice but we'll see if I can fit in a quick jog between my dr's appointment and class tonight.
I did a short 3 mile run this morning. Still very hard to loose the last few pounds. I am becoming more accepting of my body so, if I don't loose it, I am not going to sweat it. But I am not giving up on the heathly eating and exercising.
I did 13 minutes - which was just over 1km at lunch. I'm doing 5 short and steadies every lunch time. I jogged up the hill as well, which I hate, so that's not too bad!
I ran a bit over 8k sunday morning, took monday as a rest day, and ran another 8.5k this afternoon. It was beautifully warm (6C!), sunny and only slightly breezy. Moost of the local walking path is actually clear of snow now, although significant parts are covered with the water-that-used-to-be-snow, so I guess I'll be wearing my old running shoes on tomorrow's outing. My shoes are soaked and I doubt they'll be dry in time. In another few days though, it'll be clear enough to push my daughters in a stroller and I won't have to wait for dh to be home to go out for an easy run. Last fall they liked to say "faster, mommy, faster" as I was puffing along with the extra effort of pushing them.
Got in a 6-mile run yesterday in under 54 minutes and then walked another 0.5 miles while watching American Idol...I wasn't very impressed with any of them...
I did a 30 minute/5.3k session on level 8 hills on the treadmill today. That's the highest incline I've ever set it on, and I coped surprisingly well. Only one more short run before Sunday I think.
Helen, Level 8 hills sounds "fun". I'm sure it's a great workout. The area immediately around my house is pretty flat, so I've been purposely heading to hillier areas on my long runs. Setting out to do a hill program on a treadmill sounds pretty dedicated though. You'll do great on Sunday.
I had another warm, sunny, only moderately windy shoe soaking run today. A bit over 9km with 6k at tempo pace thrown in the middle. I even wore a short sleeved shirt for the first time this year.
I'm not expecting to go superfast - it's a cross country race rather than a road race and the course is described as "challenging" - that's why I've been trying to get some hills in before hand!
This morning I did 40 minutes on a mere 0.5% incline which was far easier!
Just did - 1.6km in 11 minutes. Not bad at all at all! I'm a bit worried about my navman, it reckons I did 16.6km/h as my top speed! I wasn't even running downhill!
Ah well it felt good. And hardly any walking and I sweated buckets because it's mild and I went out in full winter regalia! Fleecey long sleeved top and lined jogging bottoms! I'll dig the shorts out for next week!
Did my incline run yesterday not pushing myself quite as hard this time. 8.5mph at 6% incline almost killed me last week! then after work my friend cancelled on me for our run but I still went out with the intention of walking and ended up jogging 2 miles and walking 2.3 more.
I'm off to run to and from the gym to work chest and back... This afternoon I am running with the gals we are up to 8.5k...
2f -- on Tuesday when I ran with the girls I thought I was going to die because I had my long running pants and a long sleeved dry weave t-shirt. This morning I will wear that same thing but when I run this afternoon I am definitely running in shorts, I don't give a dang what anyone says, I'm freakin' HOT!!
