  • I did 45 minutes of hills on the treadmill this morning, it feels good to get back into routine after a couple of weeks tapering then recovering. Only 10 days til I run a 5 mile race though, so it won't be a long routine!

    Lucky, I like the photos!
  • Did 3.25 miles of hill intervals on the treadmill today (used my friend's mp3 player so I was loving the new tunes!) After work I'll go for another run at the park, as planned. Have a great "hump" day!
  • Did 5 miles last night - not my best run (but i'll take it) but i'm definitely having to get back into things after only running once last week...

DH and i are doing a race next Saturday - an 8K - so i'm looking forward to that...

my hip flexor has been bothering me a little bit - right where the front of my thigh meets my hip bone...i've thought about icing it...any suggestions???
  • Yesterday I had the BEST run ever... I did 8k in 56 mins, that's really good for me, I was a whole block ahead of the girls... I felt like the Energizer Bunny!!
  • Way to go Ilene--that rocks! BF and I ended up having to meet with the realtor (we are trying to buy a house) last night so I had to postpone my afternoon run until today.
  • Did 3.5 mi last night...since my hip flexor is still giving me a little grief I didn't think that was too bad...

Way to go on a personal best Ilene!!
  • I did a fast 8k this morning, I'm really trying to work on my speed before starting to work on my distance later in the year in preparation for the marathon. All good stuff.
  • Today was one of those days, just didn't want to get out of bed this morning. I eventually won the battle of will and got to the gym, but because I had a late start I only did 3 miles instead of the 5 miles I had planned. But still I am proud that I made it to the gym at all.
  • I'm not sure what happened on this morning's run. I was just meaning to do my normal Saturday morning 3.7 mile course for an easy run, and ended up running it in 30 minutes. I think it's because I had a lot of tension built up from yesterday that I needed to get rid of, but I've never run that fast before!
  • As much as I miss running with all the ice this winter it's been easy enough to dismiss it, but now the weather is showing hints of warming up and the ice is melting and yesterday's weather was gorgeous, it's getting harder not to want to run.

I walked a 5K run yesterday though in 50 mins.... not terrible and the weather was great... I had my mp3 player going with some fast tracks. The race was fun and my DF had a decent run.

One annoying thing about not running during pregnancy are the comments like " I know a lady who ran until her 9th month", "so and so ran a half at 6 months pregnant"... running through pregnancy is so individual. I thought honestly before I was pregnant I would run through it too, but due to the weather <it's been extremely icy this winter>, some other external factors <work schedules, taking the bus instead of my car>, how long I had been running seriously before I was pregnant <most ladies who run through pregnancy had been running for years> and fatigue it didn't work out for me and at this point I think the best thing I can do is power walk, do the elliptical, prenatal yoga and prenatal aquafit. Sorry for my rant (or whine )...

Anyway the plan is I'll be running with y'all starting again in August!

    Cheers!

  • I'm not running today. I'm trying to give myself a bit of a rest at the moment anyway, but had 7 - 8 miles planned. Then I got up, picked up my running gear to get dressed, looked out of the window, saw the snow and headed back to bed.
  • Hi Ali,

I thought I'd run through my pregnancy too, but it just didn't happen. I was just not mentally prepared for the way it totally takes over your body. Get your rest! If you feel like running, and you don't have any complications, run. But if you feel like resting, rest. You'll run again. Building a baby is a LOT of work, and if you can exercise in other way, hey, go for it. And if you can't, just rest!

I did my tri today. I'm pretty wiped, so I'll put my thoughts together and post tomorrow.

  • Did my Monday 5 miles today. Although at first my legs felt a little stiff. But after a while I really go into it. And now my legs feels limber and relaxed, just one of the little benfit of running.
  • Got in a 6 mile run yesterday and then walked another 2 miles...I really needed to get some good miles in and burn off some of the excess calories I have been consuming lately!

Probably none for tonight but tomorrow I will definitely be hopping back on the treadmill

Hope everyone had a great weekend
  • I did a fast 6k this morning, under 30 minutes
