I just joined Curves last week. I've had 5 workouts so far. I'm loving it, and I hate exercise. But this is soooooooo much fun it does'nt seem like work.
I just got a free week pass to try curves. I did it yesterday and today and I LOVE IT!!! It is so much fun! I have already decided to join Monday and get all the measurments taken and weigh in. I am a little nervous about that. I have gained a bit back since I haven't been going to WW's all the time. I had lost 98 lbs but I have gained back about 10 lbs so I am excited about losing again. I am SO going to get under 200 lbs!!!!! Hope everyone has a great day! ....Sis
Go Sis! You'll be breaking the 00's any day now!!! Fantastic!
I started Curves back around Halloween and have loved it. I travel almost constantly and love that I can go to any Curves in the country. It's been a really good experience everywhere I've gone, too. The ladies everywhere have been friendly and made me feel at home. Each one is a little different, but still the same.
For a number of lame reasons including a new puppy & my work schedule, I haven't been to one in 3 weeks, but will be back tomorrow morning, probably at the West Valley, UT, location - I love it there!
Prices must be a regional thing, because I only pay $29/mo, not the $39 someone (Valerie Joy?) mentioned before, but Chicagoland isn't a cheap neighborhood!
I joined Curves last week and I had my 6th workout tonight. I am going again on Saturday morning to make it 4 this week. I'm going to strive for 5x/wk. I figure that way if I have to miss a day then at least I will still get the 3x/wk in that they recommend. I really enjoy it there. Its the fastest 30 min of my life, seriously! I have a friend who had gone before and stopped and I told her I joined and now she is going again! Yay!
I lost 5lbs my first week of doing Weight Watchers Points and Curves. I dont expect it to continue at this accelerated rate but that 1st 5 lbs was a great motivator! I think what also helps is that on WW you get activity points for exercising but I dont ever use them. I could get an extra like 3-8 points on the days I excercise but I find I dont need them anyway. It kinda defeats the point, in my opinion.
Oh, about the price thing--the one I go to in Lincoln, NE is $29/mo for automatic bank draft or $39/mo for month-to-month (write out a check each month). I think that may be where the descrepancy is.
Hi you curveychicks! I'm new to Curves...luvin it soooo far...
What do you guys do at the Recovery Stations? I've been adapting some of the moves off of some old aerobic videos.. One is high kicks.. I look like a Rockette
well u should slow down and "rest" up. I know a lot of People dont but ....
I walk in place swinging my arms,,, nothing big ,,,,,this way I can give it 110% at the mashine
Lilsmom: That is FREEKEN FABULOUS and AMAZING!!! !!!!!!!
I really didn't feel like exercising last night...so I came to this thread and GOT MOTIVATED to GITRDONE!!! So thanks Gals!
I completed my first week at curves - so I weighed in. The technician cautioned me to not be discouraged if I don't see a loss... but, I lost 4 pounds!
Joined Curves in February, approaching my second month in April. I haven't lost any weight but have lost a few inches. I am not really disappointed, but I need to work harder to workout more often and to watch what I eat more. I've been doing better over the past week or two. Also I am starting to supplement my Curves workouts with at home workouts as well. Hope you guys are still loving it!!
Need some thoughts here... I've been going to curves 3x at least a week, def working up a sweat and thinking I've got correct form on each machine and workin each station so I hear that "whoosh" but after the first week, I don't "feel" it -like in my arms or butt or anywhere. My heart rate is at where it should be or higher... is this normal?
What do you mean you don't feel it? You don't feel pain?
You don't have to feel pain to have a good workout. Curves is low impact and safe for your joints.
Maybe you need to push the machines harder and rest more on the pads. I had someone watch me on the machines and found that I had incorrect form on some of the machines and once I corrected it - I saw more results.
Thanks -I'll ask one of the fitness techs to watch me on the machines... No not pain, but I usually feel some stiffness for a lack of a better word. It will be interesting to get my first month measurements taken to see what results.. I do feel firmer in my thighs and arms though!
