Hi Walkers

I walked one mile this morning. I'm coming down with a cold, all congested and such. I hate being sick.

Goal 31 miles (one mile for each day as I get back into the swing of exercising).
2 miles down, 29 to go.

January walking goal

Hi everyone!

I am setting my January goal for 85 miles just like December. So far one mile yesterday and three miles today. 81 to go!

Hope everyone is doing well!

2 more miles down.
46 to go, I'm starting to wonder if I set my goal too low.
We'll see how this first week goes.

Hi everyone - I'm new on here, but would love to join this check-in! My name is Crystal, I live on the coast of NC with my DH and two boys (one is 5 and the other is 8 months). I am trying to lose weight and eat better along with more exercise. I do exercise videos primarily but I am trying to get some walking in on breaks at work, with my mom on weekends and also through Leslie tapes.

So far this month I have walked 1 mile on New Year's Day, 2.5 miles doing Walk and Jog this morning and 1 mile at work so far today. I'm getting ready to go out and do 1 more mile for the day.

I would like to set my goal at 30 miles to start this month. This will probably increase as the weather warms though in the next few months.

I only did 2 mile run yesterday, but it was weights day.

Jan 1, I did 3.5 mile run/walk

Just added 5 more!

Well, since I didn't have any work today I decided to walk again and walked 5 more miles for a total of 9 today! So now I am at 72 left for my January goal! :carrot:

Okie dokie I mean business this time and I think the key is to do some serious walking as well as maintaining a healthy diet. I'm going to start my January Walkers goal of 30. So I'll be starting off tomorrow. Can't wait to get started!!! I can imagine the pounds flying off as I'm walking them off. I'm excited! Wish me luck!!

Another day walked

This is good for me - 3 days in a row :carrot:

I have a very large amount of weight to lose therefore my goal for the month is very realistic due to how out of shape I am.

I am using the Walk Away the Pounds tape (1 mile for now) each day and when hubby is home we go to the Rec Plex to use the concourse for walking.

Goal for January = 30 miles

As of today I have walked 3 1/2 miles (3 with the tapes and 1/2 at the rec plex)

Feeling good :dancer:

Looking forward to weighing in on Monday - have really been doing well so far in portion control and eliminating 'junk' - things with sugar and all the extra 'bread'

Just a thought / question

I noticed that some of you have set goals at 80 to 90 miles for the month of January.

Have you been walking for some time? Have you lost must weight? Did you have much weight to lose? How many miles do you walk in one day? How do you fit this in if married, children and working out of the home?

Sorry for so many questions but not sure how you fit this all in.

I am married, have a teen at home that I homeschool (she has Down Syndrome) I make up her curriculum, plus all the housework ect - just wonder how you fit in all those miles each day - and how long it takes you to walk the miles each day.

JustJuneBug 01-03-2006 06:52 PM

it takes me about 65 min to do 5 miles, but i run most of it. probably only walk a mile of that.

most days i do 3-4 miles, some days 5, and about 2 times a month I go to the park and do that twice which equals 6 miles.

an average mile (at least when I started out was a 15 min mile)

yukimfat 01-03-2006 09:51 PM

Did one mile again this morning. (WATP)

3 miles down, 28 to go
