Forgot to say....just want to share...today is my one year anniversary for quitting smoking. What an awesome year...one year ago I couldn't walk 1/2 mile much less what I'm doing now. Thank you all for keeping me motivated!

I ended up doing the Power Mile, 1.47 miles in 25 minutes on the treadmill AND 30 minutes of shoveling! My back is complaining this morning! Oh, well.....I'm 2/3 of the way to my December goal and feeling really good about my progress. I didn't even munch all that much yesterday (even though I was home ALL day)! Well, I did it - got out in the cold and walked 3/4 mile. It actually felt good. Much colder and windy today so it will be the stepper.
Dinahgirl, congrats, that is so awesome. I am an ex-smoker too. You won't regret it. Thanks all for your suggestions/support. |

I've had a good couple of days. Tuesday I walked 5 miles and Wednesday I walked 4. I'm not usually quite that ambitious, but I was full of energy for some reason! I am now officially more than halfway to my December goal of 75 miles! I hope you all have a wonderful day! And Dinah, big CONGRATS! on the one year anniversary! That's wonderful! :bravo: |

I did 1.5 miles on the treadmill in half an hour tonight...not much, but I haven't exercised in a while and am starting up again. Burned 201 calories.

I'm new here but I would like to join in on the exercise posts. I have been "lurking" around this board for a little while...trying to gather the courage to commit to an exercise goal (yet again). I do have the Walk Away the Pounds videos...and a gym membership...not to mention the sidewalk is free...so I really have no excuse. It is late in December so I will set my goal at 10 miles. I am also not in very good shape...so I don't want to try to do too much and be disappointed. Well tomorrow is Saturday, a great day to start...so wish me luck! |

I did three more miles just now, in an hour. Burned 401 calories and 130(?) fat. I am proud. I have to take a shower after my mom gives my brother (whose birthday is today, sixth) one. Then I have to do my hair and go to the hotel two hours away for my cousin's wedding! Wooh, busy day. |

So I added a whopping 4 miles to my monthly total today. I was visiting my parents, and my mother and I got the bright idea to take her dogs out (in the drizzly rain) for a long walk in the park. It was actually quite pleasant, not scorching heat like we usually have here, and I feel a great sense of accomplishment! Have a great weekend everyone! :wave: |

I had a big walking day yesterday. I started with a 4-mile WATP, then my mother invited me to come with her to walk the dogs, so that was 2.5 more miles. Then I got a crazy burst of energy in the evening and did a 1-mile WATP. Add one more mile this morning and I have 54.5 of my 75 mile goal done.

:tantrum: I went to an Orthopedic Surgeon yesterday for an eval of my knee problem. He said it could be a torn meniscus or a problem with the kneecap itself. An MRI will be done tomorrow. I just want to keep walking to lose this darn weight! I can't imagine having to need surgery and then be sidelined for 6 weeks or longer. I haven't walked for 2 days and am itching to get back to it. The longer I stay out, the harder it is to get back to it--both with the legs and the lungs for the uphills. I am a little upset by this but I know taking care of the problem should be first and foremost. I'm just bummed, literally! :( I just need 6.25 miles....

I'm closing in on my December goal! I walked 6 miles yesterday (active day since I was off school) which leaves only 8.5 more miles. :dancer:

Well, against doctors orders I went for a little walk today :s: . Switched up my route quite a bit to keep it flat instead of hilly. Had to wear my heavy duty knee brace but I did 2 miles. :dancer: I'm counting 2 for today, 45.75 for the month, just 4.25 to go. Thanks for the sympathetic ear Christina :)

My knee brace is doing wonders for me. I snuck in 2.75 miles yesterday then 2.75 today. I do believe I've passed my goal! 51.25 to date. Now I can rest :D

Ha! I did 3.25 miles yesterday to compensate for all those extra iced gingerbread cookies I had for Christmas... 54.50 miles to date. We are leaving on Wednesday to Vegas to celebrate New Year's Eve. I'm sure to do some walking there :dancer:

My Christmas present to myself was meeting my 75 mile goal on Christmas Eve! :rudolph: I also did 3 more miles today, so I'm up to 79.5 for the month. |
Walked 2.5 miles today, which leaves me with 11.5 to go for the month to meet my 85 mile goal, so I am at 73.5. Yay! :D
