Hey Ladies! I did my elliptical today for 60 minutes...it was getting rough there near the end...the machine said I did about 9500 revolutions and supposedly burned over 1000 calories! Whoo hoo! I know they may not be correct, but it sure looks good! And I am exhausted!!!!
I'm sooo sorry I've been so bad about posting. I hadn't even visited the board until this morning for a while. I'm glad to see you are still here and pushing forward!
I have been back to the gym, but sporadically. My ears have been giving me trouble for about 2 months now, and have really made me feel off balance (no excuse, but I've been to the Dr's several times and am going to a specialist today.)
I have been out learning tennis (Bring it on, Capriati!!) HA HA!
At least that's moving! My eating has been poor these days, but I'm not giving up!
Welcome to KAT!!!! Sorry I've not been here to welcome you! Please stick around!
Weigh in today and I stayed the same! Whew! I was worried because I missed a few days of exercise because of the heat and I had a few "hungry" days. Now I can get on track and get that scale moving down again ~Girlie~ I am impressed! 60 minutes on the elliptical is a killer. Way to go! ow stay OP and get to that ""below 200" goal. You can do it. ~WomanInLove~ So glad you are back. Congrats on the tennis. We will be looking for you at Wimbleton! That's a lot of moving and shaking. Sorry for the trouble with your ears. Doesn't make it easy to exercise when you don't feel good. I am having cataract surgery tomorrow on one eye, so I will have to take it easy a few days. (Is that a good excuse or what?) Maybe my hubby will wait on me! (Count on that) There was a lady at my meeting today that had inner ear problem. Maybe some kind of infection going around. Hang in there and get out that journal. We can do it!
Yup! I'm back with you all My MIL leaves tomorrow so it's back to the routine. I have felt so out of sorts. I haven't exercised in like 2 weeks. It has been awful. Now starting tomorrow it's back to it. I have 3 weeks to try to get rid of some weight before I go to NY.
Girlie, Judy, Womaninlove it's so great to see you are all still here & going strong. I am here to stay now
Anyway, it's time for me to get some shut eye. I have to wake up hubby & MIL at 3:45a so that they have time to get ready & get out of here for her 6am flight...Talk to you tomorrow...
ThanksJudy ...Sounds like you are doing so well! You & Girlie are always an inspiration! I went to the Dr and I'm feeling alittle better, but have to go back in 2 weeks. I'm trying to get motivated, really I am! Hope you're surgery goes great and you're back on your feet in no time (Well, maybe not no time...you gotta let your hubby fuss over you for at least a week!
DEB: Great to see you! Welcome back! I know the feeling of not exercising for a while...we can get back on track!
I'm just checking in today, home sick with a really bad sore throat, went to dr to get antibiotics. I sure hope this doesn't get me lazy on my gym exercising. I have a plan where I can only go on Monday-Wednesday-Friday and Sunday, so today should be my day to go (can't go tomorrow) so I sure hope I'll feel up to it on Friday and not make an excuse....
Have a good day everyone.... Kat
Hey, Ladies! Sorry no time for the fancy colors..we have been SO swamped at work! One of my clients is an international pool care products company and it's that time of year again for the US!!!
I'm balck to the elliptical tonite, and I hope I can get my 60 minutes in again. I felt SO proud of myself when I was done last time, but it hurt!!!
But I just think of how proud I'll be!!!
So anyway, yeah...my eating yesterday has been bad..I keep trying to tell myself how worthless all this is if I'm not eating right....hopefully the pain will teach me to be better.
Woman in love, it's SO good to see you! Good for you with the tennis lessons!
KAT, hello! I'm glad yo're still here!
Judy, surgery? That's not good! You'll back at it in no time, I know you will because you kick @ss!!!!! Hee hee
Debbie, your MIL is STILL there!!!! Oh my word!! I'm sure you'll plop down on the couch and sigh as soon as she leaves!!! LOL..then go for a workout!!! Hee hee...
Well, there was a little change of plans. My MIL couldn't leave today. We had some torrential rain storms last night & her flight got cancelled. I was up at 1:30a calling the airline. UGH! Needless to say there will not be any exercise today. I guess I can count yesterday as exercise. They painted my apartment so between my MIL & me we moved all the furniture back to it's place. I am talking 4hrs worth of moving furniture: bookcases, sofas, desk, tv, etc, etc. I was whipped. Once she leaves it really is back to the routine.
Welcome Kat..sorry I wasn't around to welcome you before but I'm glad to see you here
Womaninlove, Girlie, and Judy nice to be back with you all.
I always find that when I'm on a great excercise kick, I always eat more!!! I hate it...why can't I get both eating right and exercising at the same time?!
Judy, still MIL? What a long visit! My future MIL is totally bonkers!!! Ha ha!
I did my elliptical again last night. I usually gauge myself by the number "calories burned" and the number of rotations, so I'm along the same numbers during the same time frame. I noticed that on Monday, it took me a bit less than 60 mins to get to "1000 cals burned" and 950 strides...Last night it took me 63 minutes to get to the same place. I guess my muscles were just tired from the last time.
Sometimes the hour goes by so slowly...I just usually watch people while wearing my walkman...most of what makes it hard is the boredom that makes me want to get off...I always try to speed up if I feel bored, ya know, so at least I'll hurt and I'll have to think about that!
I hope all of you are doing welll. I have a busy day of work today!
I'm sure I'll be in for OT this weekend.....
Hi Girls!
I'm back today from the eye surgery. It went very well, except I had a shield on my eye yesterday when I came home so I couldn't wear my glasses. I felt like Mr. Magoo. I wasn't able to eat all day before the surgery and the surgery was at 1:30 so I was pretty hungry when I left the surgery center. We stopped at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch/dinner. Since I only had 1 meal yesterday I treated myself to cheesecake for dessert. Ymmm, forgot how really good real dessert is. (Boy was it rich) I felt like I was living high. I went back to doctor this morn for a check and he removed my patch. That felt so good to get that thing off and able to wear my glasses again. I will go back in 2 weeks and he will be able to tell when I can have the other eye done. The bad thing is that I can't do any heavy lifting for 8 weeks. Sooo, looks like getting back to the gym is out. He said I can walk when I want to. Just no aerobics or any bouncing around. So I can probably use the elliptical after a few days. I want to get all of this done before I go back to Florida for the winter. ~Girlie~I think 60 minutes on the elliptical is incredible. Keep up the good work. Sometimes it takes a little more food when you exercise so strenuously. And LOTS more water!~Debbie~ Too bad your MIL couldn't get her flight. That moving furniture is exercise! Hopefully you can get back to your routine soon. ~WomanInLove~ Hope you get that ear problem licked soon. I think I will try to start walking again tomorrow. I will just sit around and take it easy today. It has been raining off and on anyhow. Hang in there everyone.
The Dr visit went well (a little painful, but worth it). I can hear better and no longer feel like I'm in a tunnel! Yippee! I tried to play tennis today but a HUGE black cloud came over our town and opened up on us. Oh well...there's always the weekend!
JUDY: Glad to hear your surgery went well...just enjoy your "prescribed" exercise break!!
GIRLIE: Glad to "see" you! Sounds like you are totally OP!!! Way to go on that elliptical! I really need to get back on one...
DEB: It's almost over with the MIL...hang in there!!!
Judy, I'm glad to hear the surgery went well. Just take the time you need to recuperate & you will back in the swing of things before you know it.
Womaninlove glad to hear your ear is better. Tennis?? YOU GO GIRL!!!
Girlie, how are you doing? How did you do in school??? I'm sure you did great
Well, I got off my butt & did 1 mile of my 2 mile tape. It's been about 3weeks & I was tired. I haven't slept well in 3 days with the painting & MIL leaving it was hectic. I'm happy I at least did that much. I'll be back to doing my full 2 miles, 3 miles & 4 miles soon enough. I have to ease back into it. It's good to be back with you all. Hope everyone is having a good week...
Hi girls,
I just decided to be pampered again today and take it easy. I went for a pedicure and then didn't do much the rest of the day. I don't want to rush this thing. I am seeing very well out of my eye already. That pleases me. Although now my glass prescription is off for that eye. I will know in a couple of weeks when I can get the other one done. I do think I will walk tomorrow and get back in the swing slowly. The weather is much cooler again now so it should be easy. ~Deb~ You will get back, so don't worry. You must be a saint to have your MIL visit that long. I can't remember how long exactly she was there, but any company very long isn't much fun. I know, because EVERYONE likes to visit me in Florida. It disrupts your regular schedule, so I am always glad to see everyone leave. That does sound selfish doesn't it. Oh well....Some company is easier than others!
Happy Saturday Morning... sure wish I could sleep in some times...
It's not my day to go to the gym; sure wish it was as I missed two days this week because I have felt crummy with this sore throat. I'm hoping I feel up to it tomorrow...
Judy hope you are doing better with your eyes... I guess I missed what kind of surgery, was this the laser surgery or a cataract type eye surgery... hope I'm not being too nosey.....
Hi Deb, thanks for the welcome, sounds like you had quite a work-out moving furniture!
Girlie... I'm impressed with your endurance on the elliptical machine, they have them at the gym and my dh thought it would be a great machine for me... yeah right, I can't even make it for 2 minutes, its like the Nordic track machines (to me) it gets my heart rate up way too fast... guess it will just take some getting in shape time, but ya know I never could stay on the nordic track it just got the heart rate up fast, even when I was in shape..
Well off to teach a scrapbook class today... I'll check in later. Kat
