I did the WATP 3-mile with 6# pair of weights tonight.

Sarah!!! I was just noticing your stats and just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss!!! Did you lose most of the weight by walking? You are truly a inspiration to me :)

Hello everybody! I had my checkup with my doctor today and found out that I'm down to 186. Yeah!!! :cheer: I'm thrilled. Hopefully my blood tests will all come out ok. She really wants me to exercise more. I've really fallen off and I should be doing 4 days a week but I've only done 2 days lately. I was thinking about trying to get a DVD for home. I was thinking about a WATP tape. Any suggestions which one to get? Hope you're all doing well. later.

seemzy 11-10-2004 02:58 PM

Just walked 1 mile..Hopefully I will get in 2 more before the day is over :)

Shoequeen,

I would recommend the one I have, which is the Walk away The pounds dvd. it has 2 workouts on the same disc.
Get up and Get Started (1 mile) and High Calorie Burn (2 mile) then once you master those, you can always buy the 3 or 4 mile.

As for exercise for me, I did the 1 mile Leslie dvd again. 4 days in a row, 3 more to go for my mini-goal! Last night I did reps with the 5 lb weight. I cant wait to see those muscles!

Hi gals!!

Boy, right now, this little guy looks a little too cherry for me....lol....I've had the darn ole flu bug for the past few days. But, today, I am finally feeling better and did a little yoga tonight with my daughter (she is 10) Yeah I know....not walking....but I will WALK tomorrow...I promise. ;)

Can I say something here? There sure are a lot of nice people here. I'm really looking forward to getting to know a few of you and hearing all about your weight losses.

Bye for now ~ Natalie

Aw, Seemzy, THANKS! :) I've been steadily working for that! I've gone from a size 26/28 to a 14/16. At 212 (I'm 5' 6") I have a ways to go, but I'm getting there! For a long time I did primarily HIIT (high intensity interval training) biking -- I averaged about 3 times a week most of the time, but I still had weeks where I did nada. Then about a month and a half or two ago, I started doing the WATP workouts about 4-5 times a week. Since then, I've added Leslie's ramp walking workouts and Cathe's step bench workouts, and I'm expecting a couple of other workouts by Kathy Smith as well. I'm still doing the HIIT biking, and weights, and now do all of it. I attribute about 80% of my loss thus far to proper diet and only 20% to exercise -- which corresponds to that of a lot of others out there as well. When you're as heavy as I was, I think you can go farther with stellar eats and limited exercise than someone of a lower weight, but I believe that I've reached the point where I will need to maintain focused daily exercise (not just an active life)......now, and for the rest of my life. Additionally, all along I've been more motivated by body fat percentage than BMI or weight, so of course exercise -- and especially resistance training -- is critical to that.

Anyhoo -- tonight I biked for 25 minutes with a few intervals -- only a few because my energy was low. I went 5.5 miles, which is ok, but not as far as I usually go in 20 minutes when I do my "REAL" HIIT. Oh well, tomorrow's another day, and I'm hoping TOM is going to leave the building after what seems like 3 weeks and a day! :dizzy:

Thanks again, Seemzy, you're a real sweetheart -- and you made my day!

WOW SARAH! That is a big drop in size! I'm glad I made your day and you made mine too giving me more hope that I can too, accomplish this. I think it's great that you do so many different things, really helps when you get bored. I just got my WATP tapes a week ago and just started doing them more consistently and I love them, I feel so great after, and time just flys by. Your absolutley right about eating, when I used to eat junk food I had no energy what so ever, and now that I have started eating more natural and whole foods I have more energy to exercise and just feel better. I added your blog to the blogs, here's mine http://skinny_me.blogspot.com.

You doing awesome Sarah :goodluck:.

seemzy 11-11-2004 05:58 PM

Did my 2 mile WATP tape today. :)

I was finally able to walk to and from work today. Monday to Wednesday, I had to stay late to earn some extra time off for Christmas, so I only walked in the mornings and during breaks. The weather is getting colder, and more windy, but I'm still sticking with it. And I have the treadmill on standby for those days ahead when the sidewalks become a skating rink for penguins.

P.S. The enormous bag of Hershey's Kisses in our department has now been consumed, and I didn't eat one :faint: :cp: What makes me laugh is the tiny waisted co-workers who have eaten a few goodies and are now making a big production about their non-existant weight gain. One 60 yr old lady who weighs less than my left leg is going on about her "big behind."  What? Give me an electron microscope and maybe I can see her enormous derrier!!
