L1D6 done! I wasn't feeling too well but I did it! Am even almost looking forward to level 2, haha. :carrot:

I am going to take my measurements on Thursday or Friday to see if there might be a difference already.

bunnabear 02-03-2013 10:21 AM

ButterCup85 02-03-2013 06:18 PM

Hey y'all!!! I'm going to jump in as well. I've done this before and got amazing results so I'm going to do it again!! Been gone a while but glad to be back and so glad there's others doing the 30 day shred!! I hope I stick to it completely this time. I'm ready to get closer to 160 so here's to getting there! L1d3 completed today!

irish51 02-03-2013 06:27 PM

L1D6 completed..:woohoo:

Hi curleycarr and Buttercups85.

Jillian may think it is easier by day 6, but than she is not 61 yrs old.:faint:

ButterCup85 02-03-2013 06:44 PM

Easier or not irish51, you're doing it and good for you! I am not as sore as I was on days 1 and 2 that is for sure lol.

ButterCup85 02-04-2013 10:22 AM

L1D4 complete! And did 13 minutes of banish fat boost metabolism. Doesn't seem like much maybe but it sure felt it and I am proud!! Tryin to add extra cardio- 10 minutes a day is something lol.

bethFromDayton 02-04-2013 10:30 AM

L1D4 - got up and did it before work! I am majorly impressed with myself. Getting up in the morning is not my strong suit.

I am getting better at the pushups--did one whole set knee-style, and the second set against the wall. I can do one squat and press with my 2 lb weights, and one set without weights. I'm getting better at the bicycle abs but can't do the whole minute yet.

Someone please reassure me that even if I end up marching in place and doing the arms during a lot of the cardio that I'm still helping myself. I feel partly pleased with myself for doing it at all and making progress and partly like I don't know how people my weight and age manage to do all that high impact cardio.

ButterCup85 02-04-2013 11:19 AM

BethFromDayton! I actually did the 30 day shred around 230 for the first time- the pics in my sig link was back then. And I only actually did about 18 days I think and got results. Good ones I think! When I started- I couldn't do jumping jacks. She said don't modify but I did- I bounced in place and flailed my arms. I also marched when they did the jogging and I didn't leave the floor when they did jump rope. The pics in my sig also- I ONLY did level 1 the whole time. Never even looked at level 2 until this year (I took a year or so off from this but I stayed at 180 just flabby so I'm back!)

You can do it. I modified everything. I took a ton of breaks. And the first time I did the video back then I started slow- I think the first time I made it 8 minutes and every few days I moved up a little more. You are doing great! You'll be amazed at the results. Not only that, but when the day comes all the moves come easir to you it's a great feeling. Doing jumping jacks and real jump rope and taking 2 breaks instead of 15- feels great! You will be surprised at how fast your body gets used to it and you start doing more, I promise! Your body is an amazing thing! Stick with it, you're doing great! Also, we are both on the same day I just did L1D4 too. So, we can stick it out together!

Also, only look at the 1st and second set, the third set of pics I hadn't kept up with working out I was just working at work lol. If I'd stuck with Jillian that whole time I bet I'd been much leaner and more toned. But really less than a month between the first and second set of pics and I tihnk i did 18 days- you can do it. And you're going to be surprised!

lso, this always helps me and some of them are thicker girls too! https://www.google.com/search?q=30+d...w=1440&bih=722

Welcome curleycarr!!

Today is my rest day between levels and I'm feeling strangely guilty about taking a rest day. I'll post some pre and post Level 1 measurements later.

ButterCup85 02-04-2013 12:24 PM

Everyone deserves a rest day!!!! No need to feel guilty, think of it as a treat for all the hardwork;)

bethFromDayton 02-04-2013 12:32 PM

I'm not taking breaks from moving (except a few seconds during the first round of pushups)--I'm just not doing all the moves. I guess that's something. I started this after almost 4 weeks of walking daily--or otherwise I probably would be taking a lot of breaks.

I'm going to stick with it. I'm trying not to be discouraged by people who are finding Level 1 easy, or by the fact I can't keep up with Anita. I hope to get good results--perhaps not as good as if I could keep up completely--but I'm moving and that's a big deal.

Thanks for helping and the encouragement!

runthecontinent 02-04-2013 01:00 PM

bethfromDayton - How do you do pushups against the wall?

I think as long as you are sticking with it and pushing yourself a little bit you will improve. You know your body and I don't think there's any point in going too far too fast. So I would say: modify if you need to, but just make sure you don't make it too easy on yourself and I would also push myself a little harder every couple of days.

As for me, D7L1 complete! Wiew!

I think you're absolutely right!

I can't keep up with Anita either sometimes, haha. But it's getting better!

You lean into the wall, keeping your body in a straight line as you would for a floor pushup, and do the push up into the wall. They are obviously not as demanding as floor pushups--but I'm using them as an interim way of getting to the point where I can do two sets of floor pushups. I only took one small break this morning (about one pushup worth) on the first set--and that's way better than I did on Day 1!

Believe me, it's not too easy on me! I'm trying to increase the time of each cardio step before switching to marching in place. Within a few days, I want to start the cardio move up again after taking a break with marching.

I'm definitely already finding that the last 4 weeks of walking, plus a little weight loss, plus 30DS is making it easier to get up off the floor. I weigh a lot more than I did when I last did aerobics or any real workout (as well as being a lot older), though, so it's not surprising I'm finding it hard!:lifter:

Slow and steady wins the race!
