My roommate and I just started today.. It was about as hard as we anticipated (we read the reviews before we purchased it) but those push-ups in the first cycle were brutal..
How much weight have people lost using this program? |
Hi Tubergen. I have not lost a lot of weight but I lost inches. My progress at the end of L2 is a page or so back. I also posted the results from another 3FC member.
I'm going to try to get back on my early morning schedule. I liked that much better than trying to get motivated after my evening commute. |
Borrowing it from a coworker, gonna give it a try ;)
|
Cattails how is it going? Have you started L3?
Hi Candeka  I hope you will find it rewarding this time around. Level 3 is a bit more difficult than L1 and L2. I felt that L1 prepared me for L2 but nothing prepared me for L3. |
Bunnabear. It does get easier around day 5 but go at your own pace. 30 days is a suggestion, not a rule. I and others here have taken breaks but I am still committed to completing the program.
|
Well, I slept pretty well last night. I wasn't nearly as sore this morning. I guess that means that it is working. I am on day 5 today and I haven't lost any weight in almost 3 weeks. It's ok though because I can tell a difference in my body and muscle tone.
I had been running some and doing some light exercise before 30DS. Maybe I will lose weight again someday. I am 5ft 7 and 147. It is an ok weight. I prefer to be around 130 which is what my body was naturally before having kids. I got to that weight last October but it wasn't in a healthy way. I was really stressed out and just not eating. I had three failed pregnancies and 3 abdominal surgeries this year and gained 30 lbs during recovery from all that : ( |
gonna ask this question before I even turning on 30DS. I have had back surgery and need neck surgery, do you still think I will be able to do the 30DS?? I really want to do it, but I certainly don't want to injure myself.
Does anyone remember BILLY BLANKS TAEBO? I used to do that when I was thinner and I LOVED IT! It was soo much easier to follow than all the stuff out now! |
I took a break for the last couple of days (totally unplanned & totally dumb of me!) & just now did L2D1. And - oh my GOD. I found the strength moves close-to-impossible, & even a lot of the cardio was giving me trouble. (that circuit 2 cardio = HORRIBLE.) I'll keep going & hopefully it'll get easier as quickly as L1 did, but right now I'm drained.
|
L1D2 was a nightmare.. I completed it without any breaks but those side lunges were killer.. For the second cycle I could barely raise my arms with my weights.. I muscled through it though.. I'm just praying d3 will be easier like Jillian promised :) My roommate is going to do it when she gets home from work.. She's not on this site but I am going to let y'all know how it's going for her also for extra insight.. Especially for the people who haven't tried it yet.

Level 1 Day 2 down. It wasn't as bad today with the exception of the pushups which are really hard with already sore pecs. I also did 25 minutes of Zumba this am to make sure I'm maximizing my fat loss.

ImImportant, thank you for inquiring about me! Unfortunately I'm in the midst of an arthritis flareup so on an extended break from workouts. Once this passes, I'll be back to it, even if I have to start from the beginning again!
I keep checking in here, though, to see how everyone's doing. Your commitment is awesome! I can't wait to hear what a difference the 30 days makes to you all. Keep it up so I can exercise vicariously. LOL |
Took a couple days break from Jillian. Three days, to be exact. I had to check my workout log. Anyway, I'm going to do L1D7 tonight, along with some other cardio stuff. I am GOING to break through this stinking plateau if it kills me!
I hope since I took a few days off I won't have lost too much strength/endurance/whatever. If it ever stops snowing long enough for me to go to Walmart tomorrow, I'm going to pick up some hand weights. As a person with little to no upper body strength (I occasionally struggle with a jar of jelly ) what weight would you recommend so I don't tear something and/or cry? 1lb, 2lb, etc? Cattails- ouch! Feel better soon  |
penmage - like you, I have almost zero upper-body strength (I can't even do a real pushup!) I've been using 5lb weights since that's all I have, but I definitely haven't been doing the strength exercises as well as I should. 3lb weights would probably be a good compromise, though, esp since your body's been adjusting to the movements already.
