I'm going to head downstairs in a little bit and do L1D4. I had a super late dinner, so I'm still letting my food settle. I don't need it to re-visit me, lol.

Littlegreen- I also do some bike riding (recumbent) after the video. I'm trying to do it every night, but I just did the video last night. Oops!

MelodyLeigh 01-18-2013 11:08 PM

Mind if I join? :D

I will be able to buy hand weights on Sunday, but until then, I'm doing Level 1 without weights. I haven't exercised in a while, so it's probably for the best that I complete my first few days without them. :p

I just finished Day 2, and it was TOUGH. A lot harder than yesterday. My muscles are pretty fatigued, so that's probably why. I may stick with Level 1 for a little more than 10 days just to make sure I am ready for Level 2. Or I might just view these weightless few days as practice runs and then officially start on Sunday. :dizzy:

Either way, I will be posting on here to keep you guys updated and get motivation from you!

penmage 01-19-2013 12:01 AM

MelodyLeigh- Welcome! I'm doing level one without weights too. I'll go back and do it again with weights after I finish this run through.

Finished L1D4! It kicked my butt today for some reason. Doing all reverse crunches seems to help my back, but my abs sure are sore! I think I finally have the side lunges figured out, lol.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

L2D7 done. I actually did all the moves without any breaks this time - wow, do my shoulders feel all that planking! Even so, today when Jillian said "I want you to feel like you're dying!", well, I didn't quite feel like I was, just kinda. :P

Great to hear everybody's progress - keep it going! ImImportant, I'm waiting to hear how Level 3 is since you'll be there before me!

Welcome to the thread, MelodyLeigh and purplekitten7! Be sure to take measurements and photos first thing so you can really see your results!

littlegreen 01-19-2013 02:32 PM

L1D8 done! I can't believe I'm over a quarter of the way through already.

ImImportant 01-19-2013 07:20 PM

L2D9 done! I had to clear out our storage area today. I'm so tired.

Keep up the good work everyone! You keep me motivated. :carrot:

Trying to work up the energy to head downstairs for L1D5. I'm soooo tired.

ImImportant 01-19-2013 10:45 PM

You can do it penmage Just 20 minutes.

penmage 01-19-2013 11:44 PM

Finished L1D5! Tough tough tough day! Granted, I slipped on the basement stairs heading down to start the video, so that probably didn't help lol. My right thigh is killing me! Bet I'll be up on the scale tomorrow, blech.

When is this supposed to be easy?! Thanks for the encouragement, ImImportant! I needed it today. :D

MelodyLeigh 01-20-2013 02:30 AM

Thanks for the welcome, penmage and Cattails!

Good idea! I'll measure myself and take photos tomorrow and "officially" start the Shred since I'll be buying weights.

Today was my 3rd day doing the workout. The strength exercises seem to be getting easier. The cardio is what's killing me! And it's only circuit 2 that I have trouble with. Once I get to the last set of cardio, I am perfectly fine. I fly through that part just like Jillian says I am.

I hope everyone else is doing amazing! I'll post my before measurements tomorrow.

Cattails 01-20-2013 05:10 AM

Rats, I injured myself - went into pushup position and felt a small sharp tear in my right petoralis minor (just in front of the armpit). Pushups and planks are out for now, chest flys I can do with very small (3 lb.) weights. Ergh! I'll continue to do Level 1 and/or 2 minus the pushups/planks for now. Looks like it's going to take me a lot longer than 30 days to get through this routine. :(

ImImportant 01-20-2013 06:43 AM

cattails. Sorry about your injury. I view the title "30-day" as a suggestion not a rule. Just take care of yourself.

Yay penmage! Boo stairs!

Hi MelodyLeigh  It's funny how Jillian makes you hurt so bad that you look forward to exercises you would normally dread, like crunches.

ImImportant 01-20-2013 07:14 AM

Going into L3
My measurements are:

Neck: 14" .... 14"
Bicep: 11"......11"
Chest: 37" ..... 37"
Waist: 31"..... 30.5"
Paunch: 31.5".... 31"
Hips: 38.5".... 37.5"
Thigh: 23".... 22"
Weight 152.6

Original measurements before starting the shred are on page 2 of this thread.

littlegreen 01-20-2013 11:28 AM

L1D9 done! I actually found it harder today - probably because I didn't eat pre-workout like I usually do. I definitely thought about quitting at points.

Last day on L1 tomorrow, then I might take a day off before trying L2. Doing it every day is great for my motivation, but sometimes a girl just needs a break.

bunnabear 01-20-2013 12:25 PM

I just ordered 30 Day Shred - it should be here Wednesday. Very excited!
