  • L3D3 done.
  • L1D7 complete! I can tell I haven't done it in a few days. I'm dripping sweat. It's kinda gross I was able to get lower in the squat move, almost as deep as Natalie, but not quite parallel. So there is at least some progress! Although I would totally take movement on the scale over an increased ability to do pushups.

Hope everyone had a good day and I'll catch y'all tomorrow!
  • I just did L1D1 and... I sort of want to die?

I've gotta say though, I love how there are some moves that are sort of a break from the 'I want to kill you and everybody you love Jillian why are you making me do these' moves. For example the crunches and the arm move when you're laying down. (can't for the life of me remember what they're called!). Those got me through the entire routine! Push ups and jumping jacks, not so much lol!

I'm super proud that I've done my first day though. I had to take a couple of breaks but nothing major.

Does anyone else have issues with the bicycle crunches (and crunches in general)? I strain my neck way too much when I do them.
  • hi ladies! i don't know if this thread is really still active but i'm starting the shred today. i've been doing the biggest loser cardio max for 3 weeks so i'm hoping that i wont want to kill myself after the first day of the shred lmao. anywho while doing the biggest loser i was unaware that jillian did the second segment of the video and i swear her 10 minutes was harder than bobs first 20 mins so i decided i missed that evil B and to start the shred. i've done all the way through level 2 before but never finished it, but this time i will wipe that smile of mistress jillians face

uhhh measurements, i've never done them but i'll try to find a tape measure around here somewhere and get back to y'all, also where is it yal measure y'alls necks, in the middle or at the biggest part?
  • Hi out from under and Jackiedavis87

For crunches it really helped me to focus on the ceiling instead of my knees.

I measured my neck in thee middle.
  • Nervous about doing Day 3 today...my legs are very sore! I decided to take a day of rest after every 5 days of the program. I'm doing Level 1 for 5 days, then a 1 day rest, Level 1 for 5 more days, then a 1 day rest, then move to Level 2 (hopefully) with the same pattern and so on. If I can advance through the 3 levels okay that will mean 35 days to complete. I'm okay with taking a little longer because I don't feel comfortable doing strength training with no rest breaks for 30 consecutive days.
  • Lol that banner is awesome inthemoment! I finished day one this morning but i forgot about the weights so i did it free hand and i didnt feel like i was dieing so im going to pick up some five pounders for tommororw

Can someone remind me how long i do level one?
  • jackiedavis87 - most people do each level for ten days before moving on to the next one, but you can take as long as you think is necessary! If it gets easy a few days in, you can always move ahead.

Also, just finished L2D2! It was pretty horrendous - I took a LOT of water breaks - but at least it's done. Anyone who's done/working on L2, does it get easier as quickly as L1?
  • Little green. Yes, it gets easier just like level 1.

Level 3 is a different story!
  • I have run out of steam, I would have joined you. lets compare notes later.
  • L1D3 done...those lunges were tough with sore quads but I made it and managed to keep my form without breaks. Topped off the workout with about 45 minutes of tossing a football around with the family.
  • L1D3 complete.. Holy mother.. I was already super sore from yesterday.. My calves have been burning like crazy all day long, but I sucked it up and did it anyway. I am still struggling with the side lunges and shoulder exercise. I had to drop my weights midway through the second set because my arms were shaking so badly. This better start getting easier
  • L1D4 complete! I am back at it, and it feels great.

I took a short break when I over-worked my left arm. It was completely tensed up all day Thursday, and I couldn't even straighten it out all the way!

I feel much better now. I was actually looking forward to exercising again, which is a big deal for me!
  • Just did L1D2... Oh man. The cardio part with jumping jacks/jump ropes is actually killing me.

Once again it gets easier towards the end but at some point I just want to throw my shoes in JM's face.
  • Quote: Cattails- ouch! Feel better soon
Thanks, penmage - this too shall pass.

Today I pestered my big 18 year old son into doing Level 1 of the Shred and it about killed him! Of course he thought to breeze through the "girly workout" easily, with 20 lb. dumbbells, no less; the first set of cardio nearly did him in and he ended up having to finish without any weight at all. This evening he told me he was sore everywhere! Made me LMAO.
