Okay, so the good news is that I RAN the WHOLE 5K which is a first for me. It was hard but I did it. The bad news is that I lost the timing chip during the swim! I almost cried. No splits for me. But I beat my
PR by 10 minutes over all (and went up 200 places! It's a big tri!).
It's so funny because I was so dreading the darn tri all month and then, as soon as I started, I was like, "Oh yeah, I love this."
I hadn't ridden my bike (basically a beach cruiser with gears) in a year and a half. It had cobwebs all over it and BOTH sets of brakes were rubbing. I took off the front set (who needs TWO sets of brakes anyway?!) and then had a mechanic at the tri adjust my back set (he was rolling his eyes the whole time). I know my bike time is SLOW. Some of that is the bike, some of that is me.
