Still no tapes:( Susanne, I have replied from that last email TWICE with no reply these last 2 times. I am going to try to call again Tuesday. I hate that I cant do anything with the Monday holiday. And I do have all my emails saved. I worked today from 10 til 4 and just finished cooking and washing dishes and I'm pooped. I think today will be my 'off'day as far as exercise. Normally I dont skip. My sis and I have been walking 7 days a week but going to make an exception today. I ate too much too so probably couldnt make it if I tried. lol

Miki--Sorry you didn't get your tapes. We had our long weekend last Monday(I'm in Canada in case you hadn't noticed), and my DVDs came on Tuesday. I hope that's what happens with yours.

It was really funny because they reminded me so much of myself. The 3rd one especially, the one from the back, could have been me!!! Even the hair looked like mine from the back. Weird huh? lol

Good Holiday Morning Power Girls
Well, holiday for you guys. Ours was last Monday.
I did my workout yesterday. 5 days in a row now. I haven't done that many days of exercise in a row in a long time. I think I'm going to just keep going without an "off" day until I feel like I really need one. I'm afraid that if I take a day off, I won't restart the next day. I did have a little "cheat" last nigh with the food. I had a few chips. Didn't eat the whole family size bag like usual, just a small bowl. Miki--I'm really hoping your tapes come tomorrow. Enjoy your cookout. You've been doing your walking, so don't worry about 1 day of eating differently. Kristin--How was your off day? Did you enjoy it? How terrible for your friend's daughter. Especially being 15 and having those symptoms. Must be real tough on her. I hope she has a good doc that will help her. The right kind of diet (Sugarbusters for example) and exercise will help too. Ok girls. Gotta go get stuff ready for DS to go to school. Have a wonderful Memorial Day! |

I DID enjoy my day off, but WHEW....was I EVER lazy! It felt good though...now I'm full of energy and ready to start the new week. I think it was good for me to take the day off. My body needed that rest. Miki, weren't those pictures HORRIBLE??? I hated posting those things, but it helps to go back and look at them when I feel like giving up. Like I said before, it will be real embarrassing if I'm not able to post 30, 60, and 90 day pics with no results. Susanne, I don't know what kind of treatment my friend's daughter is getting...at least they know what's wrong and can help her out. She was having some major depression...which I can understand at that age! Weight gain, facial hair, etc. Gotta be hard on anyone, especially when you're in high school, ya know? How's your Tuesday? I just finished Cardio...I REALLY hate Cardio days right now! It's hard for my fat butt to get through it, and I struggle the whole way through just about. Glad it's over for the day though...now I can look forward to the rest of my day and only having to do sculpt in the morning. If you don't have your tapes by today, Miki...I believe I'd get on the horn. I think it's been plenty of time, and getting the run-around isn't helping you a bit. I'm sure they get hundreds of orders a day, but come on! They should be better organized than that! Kudos to you for sticking with an exercise routine while you wait. I sat on my butt eating tater chips while I was waiting on mine to get here....hahaha. Hope things are well with you Susanne! Did you get in your rest day, or did you go ahead and skip it? I hope you had a nice holiday monday and didn't indulge too much :s:
My DS wanted to try lobster and the store had little ones real cheap, so I indulged him. DH and I don't like sea food (I'll eat tuna from a tin or a bit of salmon but that's it). I hate to discourage the little guy from trying new things just because of my/our dislikes, so I boiled up this thing (stunk up the house) and broke it open and pulled the meat out for DS. I was really fighting the urge to lose my cookies. The things we do for our kids! Thank goodness it is garbage day and it hadn't been picked up yet, so I could dispose of all the shell and stuff right away. Well, I think today will be my "off" day. I'm feeling a migraine coming on, and it's coming on quick. I so wanted to keep going with exercise, but not a good thing today. Maybe that's why I was also queasy with the lobster. Lately the migraines have been making me queasy, so I'm not really wanting to eat today either. Miki--What's happening with those tapes??? I hope the good karma I sent reached them! Keep up your exercising and the tapes will be a little easier for you to do once you get them. I'm really hoping you got them today! Kristin--as you can see, I took my off day today. I am not fond of cardio days either. I much prefer circuit days. Abs are a killer too but we must do them so that once the fat is melted off, the muscle underneath will be tight! That's about it for me. Have a good rest of the day! |

GRRRRRRRRRR...STILL NO TAPES:mad: :?: :mad: I called AGAIN today and was pretty much told "Your tapes are only taking as long as everyone else's..." I got off the phone furious and emailed AGAIN. I did find out by the phone call that altho I received email promising reshipping by FedEx 2nd Day, that had never been done.:( I hope that my blood boiling increases my calories burned. lol ( just laughing to keep from crying..I am really really getting beyond frustated.) I ordered these things on April 27 or 28. A month ago now which would have been ok except that I paid in full to get them early! Ok, enough griping.
Walked 3 miles this morning. Going to try to do some floor exercise tonite. Not going to let those stupid tapes get me so discouraged that I get off track. I'm sore today from working out a little with my 13 yr old son Monday nite. We did some squats, jump roping, weights, etc. Later, I thought to myself.."Maybe I shouldnt do this...dont want to be sore before I even start the tapes" I'm not going to do quite so much tonite. Welcome Angel!:angel: Maybe my tapes will get here tomorrow and I can get started with you. I'm off the rest of the week so it would be a good time for me to be sore..:lol: Well I'll be back tomorrow with the latest update in the missing tape saga.;) Miki |
Hi Everybody!!!!
So great to here from everybody! Italy was absolutely the best!!!! Spent 2 days in Rome (not my favorite), 1 day in Sienna (stunning!), 2 days in Florence (pretty), a day trip to Pisa (nothing there but the tower), Cinque Terre (5 beautiful cities on the cliffs over looking the Mediterrian Sea - need I say more!), Milan (Yuck!), 1 night in Como (one of the prettiest places I have ever seen - a large lake at the bottom of the Italian Alps which back up to the Swiss Alps), 2 days in Venice (Romantic and everything you ever fantasize about), 2 days in Bologna (neat town - took a cooking class and learned how to make homemade pasta and gnocchi - YUM!!!!) and 1 more day in Florence..... it was a busy fun filled time that I never wanted to end. We walked at least 10 miles a day and saw so much.... such a different type of place. Sprained my ankle that is still giving me problems but evertyhing else was perfect. An absolutely perfect honeymoon. Miki - I hope you get your tapes soon.... I know how frustrating it can be when you are hyped to do something and then have to be on hold. All the walking you are doing sounds really great. I have done the tapes in the past but think I am going to go ahead and start at the beginning again and see where it leads off. Zanne and Kristen - you guys sound like you are doing great! Just keep up the good work.... as for words of wisdom.... not too many. I think the program works all by itself as long as you do it.... I did use my own background music once I knew what he was saying mostly... that did help it go a little faster.... but make sure you can hear him talking - he is good at reminding you about form.... and it does start getting easier - even the power yoga.... Well I am off to bed.... |

Just finished my sculpt for day 10...it really goes by fast! I'm starting to get that "tiredness" that I always get when I begin exercising. Don't know if I'm not eating the right foods, or it's just too much for me...(it doesn't FEEL like too much) but I always get this way when starting an exercise program. At least this time I'm doing them in the morning so that I don't have to worry about them the rest of the day....I just wish I had more energy. Anywho...Angel! Your honeymoon sounded spectacular! The only time I have ever been out of the country is a few years ago when I went to London-Ontario Canada, but it was for business and it was -5 degrees with a windchill of -15...(UGH!) You'll have memories to last a lifetime!! That's so great! Miki...I may just have to try and record my tapes to send to you!! I can't believe the way they have done you... Susanne...feel better, girl. Gotta have your posts everyday, ya know!!! Well, it's 8am...guess I should start my day! Will check in later... CIAO |

Angel--you're trip sounds so amazing! Are you and/or DH Italian? Or was it just a dream come true? Good idea about using your own music! I have the DVDs and I have the option of turning the music off. Kristin--You go girl! Keep getting in those workouts. I'd love to be consistant and get them over with every morning, but sometimes life just doesn't work out that way. Miki--Give us some GOOD news today, please! I hope you can. Keep up the walking. Just a quick note before I head to bed.... Was not able to start this morning - when I woke up this am my ankle was very swollen.... I am going to have to go to the dr on this i think..... well hopefully tomorrow.... I havent taken recent before pics although I do have some that pretty much still look like me now from last fall.... I may use those. Keith and I are not italian.... I just always wanted to go .... and it was more than perfect. Anyway I am out for the night. |
Guess my 'feeling' was wrong..still didnt get my tapes. BUT... I did receive a reply from last nite's email. Once again, I was promised that today my tapes are being reshipped FedEx 2nd Day so I should get them by Friday. (Funny how on the phone just yesterday I was told they couldnt do that..lol) I'll probably end up with THREE sets.:lol:
I walked just 2 miles today. We ended up going around 5 this afternoon and it was so hot we just couldnt go the last 2 miles. From now on, we'll have to go later or get up and head out early. While school was going on, we were going at 7:30 a.m. as soon as the kids' bus left, but we didnt do that today since we finally had a day to sleep in. ( I was off today and will be off tomorrow also) Taught us a lesson...much better to get up and walk. One of these days ya'll are going to be surprised with a post from me saying I actually got those blasted tapes and did the first workout! At least I hope so. I'll check in again tomorrow... MIKI |

I've had a HORRIBLE day...7 kids in my husband's family are graduating high school this year! I have 2 graduations tonight, one tomorrow and one Saturday. That puts a hurtin' on the ol' pocketbook! lol As for my workouts, I skipped cardio today...(shame on me!) I had so much to do...and I'm TIRED! (excuses, excuses...) Anyway, hope everyone is okay...Angel, take care of that ankle...Miki, I won't hold my breath on the tapes! lol Susanne, maybe we shoud kick each OTHER in the rear! Ok, you probably guessed it....No tapes today...lol I'm starting to feel a little silly being part of the PowerGirls when I have no power yet..:lol: I would give ya'll the cyber kick you need for not exercising like you should have today,:p BUT when you skip occasionally it helps keep me from being so behind. :s: I have to confess...I need a kick myself also. I didnt walk today.:o I did play basketball with my 13 yr old son, Josh, for an hour but I rarely had my hands on the ball.
Angel, did you go to the doctor? I hope the prob with your ankle is nothing serious. Just be sure to take care of yourself. Dont want to ignore it and let it turn into something worse. I am going to start on Monday....give my ankle enough time to heal a little more.... been keeping it wrapped and try to keep it elevated. Well, I must come dragging my sorry butt! The last time I did my workouts was Monday! I'm gonna need the biggest, hardest cyber kicks in the butt that you girls have got! First it was the headache, then the foggy head, then I hurt my back lifting my son---excuses, excuses. I'll be missing today too. My inlaws will be here in a few minutes to take me on garage sales! I'm thinking I will start my 90days again on Monday. I'll be keeping MIKI and ANGEL company.

Been a busy week/weekend...LOTS of graduations to attend...I missed my workout on Thursday, but got my cardio in yesterday...(I didn't mention the eating...mainly because of all the celebrations going on, I jumped right in there and ate everything in sight! (((groan))) ) So it's Saturday...and I still have to get my sculpt in. I'm still trying to decide if I should go ahead and take my rest day tomorrow, or count Thursday as my rest day...(probably the best thing to do, but not what I want to do! lol )
Angel, stay off the ankle until its completely healed...don't want to see ya re-injuring it. Hope it feels better soon! Miki....OMG...your tapes FINALLY came!! WOOHOO!!! Today is arms and we previewed that tape last nite and I'm dreading it!! I cannot do pushups at all!! I think this one is gonna kill me.

Miki--Sounds like you're going great with the workouts. I didn't think I could do pushups either, but try doing the "lady" pushups on your knees. They are easier that way--at least a little--and I found myself getting better each time. We'll see how I am after missing nearly a week! I just got back from grocery shopping and even tho I went down the chip aisle, I didn't buy any. The worst thing I bought was some baked rice crackers. I think these will be ok to gnaw on when I get a craving for something salty and crunchy. Kristin--Sorry--I forgot you had all those graduations. C'mon girl we have to keep up with Miki now!:D I looked at Power 90X. I think I'll be doing the Power 90 I have a few times before I'll be able to even think about the 90X. Angel--How's the ankel? Make sure it is feeling REALLY good before you start. We don't want you to injure it even more. We'll be here when you're ready. Gotta go get these groceries put away and tackle some gardening. |

OK I am starting today.... the ankle is still a little sore but I think it is alot better..... I will try today and see if I have any problem.... Miki - I have the actuall Power 90 tapes.... I bought them when they didnt have anything but power 90..... It sounds like your tapes focus on one area a day.... that sounds pretty good.... The tapes that i have have no background music on them.... he tells you to put in what you want to listen to and thats what i do... Susanne - come join us on Day one again.... we would love the company... and the great thing is you just havent quit.....and since you own these tapes you always get to start over..... Anyway I am off to try this.... talk to you later. |

Whoohoo! I just finished my workout. It was a little difficult today (except for the pushups--found them a little easier:shrug: ) but I managed to get thru and I feel GREAT! It took me a half hour to find the DVD remote. I'm gonna have to chain it to the player:lol: Whenever I want to use it, I have to hunt it down.
I'm going to start my 90 days over. I did my measurements today and weight. I'm one pound up from 2 weeks ago and up an inch in a couple of places.:o I think this could be from bloating tho, cause TOM is due in the next day or so. KRISTIN--WTG in getting your workouts done! I'm proud of you for making up your missed day. You're a good influence on me! ANGEL--How was your workout? How's the ankle? Nothing too bad for it in the sculpt, but the cardio could be tough on it. Just take it easy tomorrow and if it hurts doing something, just walk in place till that segment is done. I turned off the music today and I liked the workout better. MIKI--Thanks for the KICK! As you can see, it worked! Your workouts sound interesting, doing a different body part each day. I gotta go now girls. Let's all POWER UP! |

Angel, yes my tapes focus the entire 30 min on a specific part each day with one day being 30 min of stretches and one day of rest. So far I really like it. Today was my stretch day. Tomorrow is abs again then on Wed I'll do my first time of 'buns'. I've already done abs once, thighs once and arms once. Mine dont have backup music either, well maybe a little but barely loud enough to hear so once I get used to all the moves I'll do like you and add my own music. How did your ankle feel after your workout? Ok I hope. Kristin, Wow..day 15! You're doing great. Are you able to tell a difference yet?? I'm proud of you for making up for Thursday. Way to go! Susanne, I had to laugh because I had to do the same thing yesterday trying to find the remote to our VCR. We NEVER can keep up with those things. Dont worry--I was up a pound myself this past week. Well my ankle made it through although it hurt here and there.... going to have to go a little slower..... I am going to go find a pre formed ankle wrap tomorrow to see if that helps.... I really hate the idea of going to a doctor to let them say "yep - you have a sprained ankle" since there is nothing they can do for it.... Well it sounds like everyone is doing real good.... I am so into this workout stuff!! My hubby decided he wants to do it also. My sis and I do ours in the mornings most of the time, when I dont have to go to work early, so today I did the ab tapes with her then when Phil got home this evening, I did them again with him.:o I cant believe I made it thru both but it really wasnt so bad. I also walked a mile today. Now if I can just get the eating where I need it to be. Angel, I bet that wrap will definitely help the ankle. You probably need the support for awhile for sure. Well, I did my day 2 late this afternoon. I really have to try to do it early in the day. But I did it and I'm glad. DH has started doing it too, but since I hid the remote yesterday ( so I would know where it was!!!) he couldn't change the selection on the DVD, so he started with the opposite workout from me. Actually it's better cause there really isn't room for 2 of us to be moving around. MIKI--You Go Girl!!! WoW! 2 ab workouts in one day and a walk. I was wondering about your program--do you have any dance type moves like many cardio videos? The thing I like best about the Power 90 is that there are NO dance type steps. I can do (or at least attempt) the moves without having to remember the choreography (sp?). KRISTIN--Where are you? How are you doing? ANGEL--How is your ankle today? I have a couple of those socklike tensors and they are good. Ok girls, gotta go. Have a good evening! |

How's everyone doing today???? ANGEL--How's that ankle? KRISTIN--Where are you??? MIKI--How was you BUNS workout??? C'mon ladies! We need to ALL try to check in every day. Even if you can't get in a workout, don't feel as if you can't post. We need to come here to support and encourage each other! We CAN adn WILL do this!!!! I didn't get in my workout till after 5 this evening. I wasn't feeling so great earlier today as TOM came a couple days early. But I got in the workout and I feel great! It was weights today. I think next week I'll be able to use heavier weights. I'm just going up by small increments. Right now I'm using 3 and 5 lbs and next week I'll try 5 and 7 lbs. My eating wasn't great. Had a good hunk of chocolate today. I'll blame it on hormones:D But other than that, I guess it was ok. I made pizzas on whole wheat pitas for dinner. I think my water consumption was a bit low today tho. Time to go! Power Up Girls! |

Sorry about npot posting yesterday.... did my workout yesterday with some limited movement due to ankle. My bosses were in town yesterday and today.... I worked last night until 1am and then got up a 5am to finish some reports that had to be done this monring.... so needless to say I didnt get my workout in and I am so tired right now I am just hoping I can stay awake until 9 so that I dont mess up my sleeping schedule.... I think I will use today as my day off..... How is everyone else doing???? Miki- You sound like you are off to a GREAT start!!!! Keep it up!!!! Susanne - whenever you get your workout in is a good thing.... I do like it when i do it in the morning because i am much more likely to talk myself out of doing it in the evening..... Today is day 2 for me with power 90. What eating plan are people following? I got the Formula book that people are doing on the beachbody site but the eating plan is WAY TOO MUCH protein so I'm interested to see what y'all are doing? I'm a little sore right now but luckily tomorrow is cardio. Did anyone have a hard time with the power yoga? I think my stomach is too big to do some of the moves, lol! I'm glad to see some of you are already at 15 days, what a inspiration!

WTG for getting 2 days under your belt! I too have problems with the power yoga. But I can see myself improving little by little each time.
I'm trying to follow a SugarBuster type diet. No sugars of any kind (except natural from fruit or milk), no white flour, rice or pasta, etc. Today my hormones got me and I had some chocolate, but it was high cocoa content which isn't too bad. I am trying to follow the rule about not eating 3 hours before bedtime and doing pretty good with that. I usually drink lots of water. I hope you keep posting here! Always room for another Power Girl! |
Welcome Jacksonmom! :) It was cool to sign in and see we had a new "Power Girl" in the group. As far as my eating, I am just eating healthier and trying to stay under 1500 calories. I'm just actually following any certain diet. I lost 40 lbs from Oct til now doing that with a little exercise thrown in. I just started the PowerHalfHour videos a week ago. So far I really like them.
Guess what! I was off today but my sis and I got up early anyway and did the Buns tape at 7 a.m.! (Im not a morning person normally) Well hubby came in tonite and wanted to do it also so once again, I did my tape twice in one day! My sis happened by about the time we started so I talked her into doing it again with us. I was soooooooooo sweaty by the end!! But it felt great once we were finished. Tomorrow is my off day...Yesss!! Now I have just got to get my eating back on track as well as I had it before. Today at my nephew's bday party, I had cake AND a vanilla ice cream cone.:^: Angel, I dont see how you're making it on just 4 hrs sleep girl. I'd probably already be fading by now.:lol: At least missing your workout hopefully is good for your ankle getting better faster. Susanne, these tapes dont have dance step either which is good cuz I'm not the most coordinated person..lol It's all just WORK! lol I only have 3lb weights right now but I think I need to go out and get at least 5 lbs ones. Kristin, are you ok?? We miss ya! How are the workouts coming? Good I hope...dont wanna have to administer another of those kicks.:s: :p :D Well ladies...I'm pooped!! Better run for now.. MIKI |
