devadiva : I'm glad to hear your ankle is feeling better. At what time is your race on the 4th of july? better be early to skip the heat!
Drivenbyambition : 2 miles is better than 0 mile Good job!

I had my last interval training this morning, did 8k with 4x800 between 5:00/km-5:30/km, and finished in 48:02. I think it's my best time so far for a 8k.
Ran 4.25 miles last night - did a fast 5k 7:58/mile avg then 8:45/mile avg for another 1.2 miles to the gym. I was feeling fast last night if that makes sense - wanted a speed workout rather than distance so it felt good.
Had a 5k on Sunday. Finished in 32:02, which is better than I expected. I was going for 35:00 and I had literally no sleep the night before because I was up delivering a baby.
Got the 10k 4th july race route ran it this morning....GEE it seemed so much longer than my usual but low and behold GARMIN doesn't lie! But boy I was like 2 min slower...my ankle is still hurting so am sure thats part of it guess I'll see what I run it in on Fri?????
I waited to run tonight until the sun started to go down and the temp had finally dropped to 90...it was still a very hot, sticky run. 4 miles at 11.25 min mile average. About 2.5 miles in my legs where done for the night so I had to trudge through the last 1.5 miles, but I was still happy with it.
Also tried to wait for the sun to go down but it was still 93 degrees and SO humid at 9 pm!!! Made it 3 miles in 26:30 and then finished with 1/2 mile jog - go away excessive heat/humidity!!!
Devadiva, nice move and doing the route of your race in advance, it's always good to know what's coming. Maybe you could give a few days break to your ankle to see how it goes? Hope it will get better soon.
Defenestrator : Awesome time, especially in those conditions!! Great work!
Lm3898 : Aaaaaaarhh, heat and running. It's super hot and humid here too, I feel you!

Got my 11k done this morning, started early to get done with it before the heat, but it was already 25 at 6AM with the temperature and humidity going up and up... I was with a collegue who does not stand the heat very much. I could have pushed it in the end but I sticked with her, and we finished it in 1 hour 21 minutes. Much more slower that I'm used to but it was already good we got through it with this HOT temperature
Well taking a break from running to rest ankle.Rode my bike up (3 miles)700 ft think I could of run it faster! Then a quick trip back down to Valley and rode hard another 4 miles.Really felt strong think running is making my legs stronger!
TURBO think your race is this weekend?? Good times to you!
Hey ladies! Sorry I've been such a poor thread leader. I'm actually popping in to say that I need someone to take over the thread. I've got so much going on right now I just can't seem to find the time to nurture this thread the way I once did. It was a great run, I think it's been clost to two years and I've loved all the support and advice I've received here, but I am unable at this time to continue it.
I hope someone will pick it up and keep it going. I'll still be running and missing you all. Keep up the great work and happy running!
I hurt my back this winter and just got out for my first jog this morning. My shins gave out before my lungs. From past experience, my shins will tighten up the first week I am back to jogging, then I can start working on distance and or speed.
ncuneo - you are such an inspiration, keep running and pop in now and again to say hello!
