I just finished my last 125 swings! Can't believe I did it with a few days to spare.
I think I'm going to try to do 100-200 a day as part of my daily routine from now on. |

Hello ladies. I was wondering if you could help me out. I've been reading this thread from the start and I'd very much love to start doing kettlebell swings. But before I go and buy one (or order from Amazon as I've been contemplating), can you tell me what weight i should start at? My fitness level is pretty much zilch. I'm the type to get winded while climbing a single flight of stairs. I don't want to start too heavy and get discouraged but I don't want to start at something too light like 5 lbs if I'm going to get used to it in a few weeks (unless you think I should).
Also, has the kettlebell made a difference in how you feel? Is it really as intense as everyone says it is? |
Well, I was too excited and impatient so I ordered a 10lb kettlebell from Amazon. :p I hope you guys continue this every month, I'd love to join in.

I started with a 15# and while it was a struggle for some of the moves, it was just right for many of them. Now, depending on what move I'm doing I range from the 15# - 35#. It is an intense workout because it's not just working the muscles, but also a cardio workout. I've noticed not only am I stronger, but my endurance during other cardio (eliptical, treadmill, etc.) had increased. I'm walking a 1/2 marathon on Sunday, so I've eased up from KB use since I finished with my swings, but I plan on starting back up by the middle of next week. |
