Default Tennis, anyone?

Just wondering if anyone here plays, or has played. My bf and i live in an apartment complex & we have access to tennis courts. we decided we would get a couple racquets and some balls and start playing. i imagine its a good exercise but i don't know too much about it (despite playing for a year when I was about 10... Unvoluntarily may i add, lol). What are the best racquets for the price? Should i buy new or used? How many calories are vurned in an hour of tennis? So many questions. Lol. But im excited to get started!

I play! Wilson N code is my fav racquet. They have 5 models and the N Code 1 is an excellent beginner racquet. They will even replace it for free if you crack it.

Don't buy used. Micro cracks in racquets compromise the quality of play.

Calories burned I would guess would be about the same as a brisk walk for the amount of time played.

IDK how old you are or what your current activity level is but be careful. I know SO many people who got back into the game as a middle aged adult who sprained their ankle or hurt their knees.

Just wear tennis shoes, not running shoes, and do ankle stabilizer exercises (single foot stand on Bosu ball, for example) on days in between when you play.
Have fun!

I recommend going to a tennis pro shop and talking with them about your needs in a racquet and shoes and such. Also, consider taking some lessons from a pro or a friend who's good at the game if you're just getting started. There is technique involved that isn't obvious and you might develop bad habits that will hinder your progression if you don't have any knowledgeable outside input.
