Default Current Goals On the Treadmill?

What are your current goals on your treadmill?
I have been doing 3 miles in 60 min (walking with incline) and one day a week doing 4 miles in a little over 60 min (walking/running no incline). I actually ran 2 miles/30 minutes in a row without stopping! That was a huge victory for me! I could never even run the whole mile in highschool. So i am going to try and work up running 3 miles in a row without walking.

I started back in January doing mostly walking for 30 minutes (6 days a week). Now I am doing 75 minutes a day and one long day on Sundays. Last Sunday I actually completed 2 hours of walking/running. I walk 6 minutes and run for 2.

I have a TV/DVD player in front of my treadmill and last Sunday I watched the movie "Secretariat" while I was run/walking (8 miles). It made the time go by so fast - I was amazed that I was on the treadmill that long. I need another good movie for this coming Sunday (9 miles).

It looks like you're doing well with your running, nuumite. I think it's actually harder to run on the treadmill than outside (they actually say it's easier but I don't believe it). Good luck with your goal of 3-mile running!

Wow, Alenna you're not messing around! Makes me want to push myself more. How many calories do you burn on a work out?

nuumite, I've found that watching DVDs on the treadmill really helps the time pass without thinking too hard about being bored. Also, if the treadmill has a heart-rate monitor program it will keep you from going too fast and burning yourself out. Last October I invested in my own treadmill (expensive, but really worth it if you use it a lot) and I program it for intervals (right now it's 6 minutes of walking, 2 running, back and forth) for 75 minutes. The calorie burn comes out to about 450 calories. Last Sunday it said 822 calories on my 2-hour walk/run.

I would like to get to where I'm running most of the time, but right now since I'm still trying to get my weight down, the most important thing is the calorie burn - that means finishing the distance, which includes walking (for me).

Hey, nice job! I couldn't run a whole mile in HS either! I am in so much better shape now, and I was thin back then too!

My current goal is to run comfortably at 6.0. By comfortably, I mean I would like to be able to carry on a conversation while running. I can do that at 5.7 now but I'm not talking to anyone at 6.0.

My running goals are to maintain 5 miles/4 days week. I never want to run more than this. Actually...I'm at my treadmill goal! So my next goal is to be able to conquer with the same level of intensity the OUTDOORS with all it's "hilly" splendor!
