My Exercise: Roller Derby

  • Not only is this a sport that I love, but it took a while for me to realize that...well, hey...it's EXERCISE. Even when my eating habits aren't up to par, if I'm not losing weight, I'm toning up. It's such intense endurance and so much muscle power is needed to get around the track. I'm even skating outdoors at the beach or in a parking lot to practice. I try not to dwell on the "exercise" part too much because then it sort of ruins the mood for me lol.

    But I do actually have a legitimate question: I tend to lose a lot of water weight the next day after practice...are there any tips on how to keep that off the next day?
  • I find I lose a lot of water weight after a long run on a really hot day, but I don't think it is a healthy level of water loss. When I get back to a normal hydration it levels back out. I wish it would stay off, but it usually doesn't.

    I've heard that roller derby is really tough - enjoy it!
  • No advice about the water weight, but I just wanted to say that you are AWESOME!!!! I'd love to try that some day.
