2 on the treadmill today. Wow...I am seriously stunned by how many miles I've done so far! (Mostly because I've never kept track so thoroughly before.) I am loving this goal!!

runningbee 01-19-2009 10:52 PM

I finished up the 3 day weekend with 15 1/2 miles (3 days combined : ) - Happy Birthday Dr. King!

sm177 01-19-2009 11:01 PM

I've been slacking lately because of my boredom with the treadmill, but 5.3 miles today and some on the weekend that I previously added to my ticker. I'm considering waking up early to do a short run on the treadmill, then do another one at night to ease my boredom. Anyways, everyone's doing great! This thread is really keeping me on top of things:carrot:

MBN 01-20-2009 05:22 AM

I did a quick 3 miler on Friday, ran a 10K on Saturday, and nice 10 miler long run on Sunday. That brings me to 71.6 running miles so far. We also went kayaking for another 5.9 miles -- that's 23.4 paddling miles so far for a total of 95 miles!

Awesome, I can't do that kind of distance on a treadmill either. Great job!

eryn76 01-20-2009 09:15 AM

I'm still plugging away at mine. I actually didn't track everything I did last week, but did about 3 miles every day -walking mostly. Did a 2 mile walk yesterday afternoon and then a 2 mile run last night.

I've been getting side cramps lately, but I know(think) it's not from dehydration because I've been drinking a ton of water. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, the snow has been coming down in ridiculous amounts and the sidewalks aren't being maintained very well so I've resigned myself to running indoors. The one consolation is I can feel all four extremities at the same time which is a real treat.

Another 8.69 for me today.

MaryEllen 01-20-2009 01:39 PM

I know I'm jumping in late, but I just started working out again on Sunday (after starting my diet a week before) and I want to kick myself in the butt, so I'm in for 800 miles. Hopefully I can surpass that. I'll be doing that by brisk walking and biking, and possibly the elliptical. I'm 9 miles in after 2 days! I'll add the ticker once I reach my 20 days. :)

I'm excited to have a goal! Woohoo!

I'm finding this goal to be a wonderful spur to working out! Welcome!

MaryEllen 01-20-2009 02:28 PM

Thanks ladies! :high:

Mrs Snark 01-20-2009 03:38 PM

+3.75 miles this afternoon in the wind.

56.44 miles down.... just 943.56 miles to go. Ha.

Fat Chick B Gone 01-20-2009 06:18 PM

Hey MaryEllen!

+3.33 today. It is CHILLY outside. Love my new shoes though!

kittycat40 01-20-2009 07:48 PM

2 walking miles today.
Hoping for a double outside run tomorrow. One nice thing about the treadmill, I have been able to challenge myself to go faster than I've ever gone. (even if it is for very short periods)

OK, just took a good look at ticker. If I want to stay on track, I need about 40 miles in 10 days??!! all in good time....

ETA bad math :dizzy: I need 20 miles in 10 days.. do-able :)

kittycat40 01-21-2009 11:11 AM

5 done today. i cursed several people out and diid some beeching and yelling all the way to work (in my head that is... well maybe a little out loud to myself)
and now I feel a i bit more human.

running-- my therapy :D

river 01-21-2009 05:53 PM

It's my therapy too! I feel 100 times better than I did driving home from work. 5 tread miles.

MaryEllen 01-21-2009 07:15 PM

2 more miles today, bringing me up to 11 since Sunday. :)

midwife 01-21-2009 08:58 PM

3.2 miles! Woohoo!

sm177 01-22-2009 11:08 AM

I'm really struggling! I think the weather has got me down. I had to force myself to do 4 miles lastnight, hopefully I can get in at least 6 tonight... I can't believe I'm already losing steam, I need some motivation!

You and me both I've taken 3 days off in the last week and today I have no desire to run. I'm glad I started out so motivated that I've passed my monthly goal thanks to my garmin obsession. I knew this would happen eventually. I blame the cold weather, its kept me on the treadmill for my past 5 runs, I just can't take it anymore.

urockmom 01-22-2009 02:00 PM

I've been sick for days :( and couldn't run anywhere. (Well, except to the bathroom :dizzy:).

Finally got my butt moving today for 1.5 miles but it was HARD!!! Now I've got to get in 12.5 miles more before the end of the month. :running:

Dianeofnka 01-22-2009 02:07 PM

It's really tough to run in bad weather! What I find is helpful is doing a *little* bit of something -- just enough to remind myself that I like to get my body moving, that I need to keep up the practice, and hopefully keep up my mood (because I've found exercise is *really* helping my mood).

Yesterday: 1.5 miles on the treadmill. After an hour of weights, it was all I could drag out of myself.

MaryEllen 01-22-2009 10:39 PM

Two more miles on the bike and one on the elliptical, for the first time in four years. I was so proud. :)

sm177 01-22-2009 11:06 PM

Jackie there's hope! Today it was -10 with little wind and I had a fabulous run! 7 miles for me:carrot:. I'm in massive amounts of pain because lots of hills and the transition from the treadmill to outdoors is painful. No matter how many incline intervals I do etc. nothing can mimic the outdoors:mad:.

mountain mama 01-22-2009 11:35 PM

1.5 in today. Maybe it's TMI but i'm doing a detox cleanse right now and running isn't good for my insides at the moment... hahaha

JackieRn 01-22-2009 11:52 PM

sm: I'm the same way about transitioning to the outdoors I find it strange that there are people who run better outdoors than they do on the treadmill, I wish that were me that is not the case. Great Job getting out there.

I procastinated all day and went to the Y to run, its still snowing and what I would be doing out there would not be running so I've decided to cut my loses and stick with it. Another 12.01 miles.

I've promised my self that I will run trails in the spring. I used to do a bit of sporadic trail running about 3 years ago but never bothered to get trail shoes. Does anyone have a brand they recommend?

Dianeofnka 01-23-2009 12:05 AM

4.5 miles on the treadmill.

JulieJ08 01-23-2009 10:00 AM

30 miles run, 470 to go :)

kittycat40 01-23-2009 10:08 AM

Such great energy on this thread! Go Team Go!! :)

2 outside with 3lb handweights. wanted 6 but dh staying home and 2yr old being up at 4am kinda got in the way. (ok, I let it get in the way. ;))

But I am good and sweaty now. And am trying to power out 2 more hiit on tread later. I have some tivo shows to keep my boredom somewhat at bay.

TGIF!

Mrs Snark 01-23-2009 12:37 PM

+5.29 miles today.

midwife 01-23-2009 05:31 PM

+ 3 today

1.5 miles to the gym
heavy leg workout
1.5 miles home.....slow and so so tough but I made it!

EZMONEY 01-23-2009 06:49 PM

46/1000 Miles

sm177 01-23-2009 08:36 PM

Only 1.5 for me today, yesterday was hard on me. Hopefully we don't get too much snow tonight so I can get in an early outdoor run tomorrow:carrot:

MaryEllen 01-23-2009 10:05 PM

I did ten miles on the bike today....up to 24 miles total.

I tried the stair-stepper today, but got tired after about 5 minutes. I'm going to push myself, slowly, to do a mile on that thing, because it's fun to use but it's SUCH a workout!

mountain mama 01-23-2009 10:47 PM

maryellen.. the stair stepper kills me. i feel your pain hahaha
Im up to 6 minutes before my body goes numb lol

clocked 4 miles today.. doing WATP... im not puching myself like i should.. trying to get back in the swang of thangs... gonna try to run tomorrow :)

Fat Chick B Gone 01-24-2009 10:53 AM

+3.10 this morning. Getting faster!

EZMONEY 01-24-2009 06:37 PM

Angie and I took the mutts out for 3 today.

49/1000 MILES

midwife 01-24-2009 07:33 PM

Great job all!!

4 miles for me today, at the track with some sprint intervals thrown in.

JackieRn 01-24-2009 07:57 PM

15.7 more TM miles.

Primm 01-25-2009 06:52 AM

I really really was going to get up at 4 this morning and go for a run, really I was.

But when I was still wide awake and staring at the ceiling at 1am, and I knew that I had to get up at 5:15 for a 12 hour shift, I decided to reset my alarm.

Please don't condemn me!
