I wear tighter pants to run and haven't had the problem since then. Maybe I am just lucky?

I have always done the bike shorts/bike pants with a pair of looser shorts over them. Works like a charm...

I found that baby powder and the Monistat chafing gel work really well for regular wear (like wearing a skirt walking around all day, when your thighs rub) but for powerwalking or jogging, that it tends to wear off.

For those who are in plus sizes, Junonia actually sells a pair of shorts that have built in bikers under them, specifically for chafing prevention.

Even when outside in the cold winter, walking my dog, I only ever wear skirts.. which also means a pair of tights underneath. I've never ever had a problem with chafing when wearing my tights, and the only time I did was when I wore pants on a REALLY chilly day. Horrible chafing, so the next time I wore pants (there was only one other time) I put aloe vera gel (the kind for sunburns) on the area and it worked perfectly.

Ditto.

I also like wearing the compression shorts (or spandex bike shorts) under a cute little work-out skirt from Target when I go for walks. I probably look like a refugee from bad 80's fashion, but I think it looks adorable.

Champion and other "sports" clothing lines sell longer shorts, especially in the men's clothing selections. I went to Target to find some "workout" clothes. I walk the treadmill. I wasn't able to find what I wanted and what fit me properly in the women's department. I went to the men's. I found some duo dry long shorts and a long-sleeved running shirt. The shorts are longer than I normally would wear, but my great American thunder thighs aren't rubbing and chaffing because of the length. The inseam on these shorts is 9", they go to just above my knees. I was able to find a larger selection in sizes I can wear in the men's department. I neede a man's large size. The women's department had a decent selection, but only in smaller sizes.

Wow, even though I didn't start the thread, thanks for the great ideas. I, too, have this problem, and now I can head it off at the pass. I wish I would have known this stuff years ago. Could have saved me the embarrasment of that crazy cowboy gun showdown walk. lol

I LOVE this stuff! If I wear shorts in the summer I have a lot of problems with my legs rubbing together. This stuff works wonders.

OMG...the boundries of space time have been broken. The universe itself and all of existence is in jeporady. You can NOT be a UCLA fan and a fan of USC anything.

I am a UCLA grad...and also a Los Angeles native. I detested everything USC long before actually becoming a Bruin. USC is the evil empire. Spoiled rich kids who can not get into a good university go there. One is a public university of opportunity for everyone and one of the greatest academic institutions in the world..the other one is well...USC. Bruins loathe anything and everything USC.

I will pretend I did not see UCLA and USC linked together in such a way as above. ......shudders....

The universe may indeed not explode...but I have developed a tick after reading the post above...
